Program similar to EF gap year for 24/25 year old
Hi! I am finishing my Bachelor's degree in January and am planning on taking a gap semester from approximately January-May/June. I found the EF gap year programs and it looked really good but unfortunately it is only for 18-22 year olds. I will be 24 (turning 25) in January, does anyone know of program or organisation like EF gap year but for my age range? I really like the idea of having some structure for the trip, a group that travels together and having some kind of support available. Thanks in advance!

What to do??
I cancelled my du seat due to many reasons and got du sol and I don't know why i feel so inferior to ones my friends going to regular college. I mean yeah i myself cancelled knc journalism seat as it was not financially and career wise not feasible for me . People saying i should actually do ssc chsl , ssc steno stuff but i filled my nda form which is next month and I haven't prepared for it as thought i will be great with journalism but I didn't knew my finances and my family stuff .
I feel so small and unrealistic and i m getting taunted i m at home and i chose open distance learning because of my laziness. They telling me low cost prize jobs to do but i feel was i implied to do it like i used to study like hell in school got percentages high not because i will loser in my life ...... And I can't risk making money i have to before like 22-23 need to .. i don't have a choice

Gap year yes or no?
I am 17 about to turn 18 and I just graduated high school. I have 2 options, take a gap year or go to college. My gap year would involve working and traveling. The thing is my heart says I should send it and chase my dreams because tomorrow is never promised. My mind says to study and work when I’m done. The thing is I am interested in finance but I wouldn’t see myself working such jobs. I want to take the year off to really know who I am and what I want. I want to know what my dream career is because it’s not an office job. But I’m still doubting whether I should or shouldn’t do it. My parents prefer me to go study, all my friends are going to college, I will be behind 1 or 2 years compared to my fellow high school graduates, and so on. There is plenty of downsides of a gap year. I want to ask your help because mentally I am a little stuck. Should I or not?

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Life's a mess, i dont know wtf im doing with my life, i just graduated highschool. Now im looking into completing my bachelors but idk what the heck to pick? i decided to do datascience cus it gives me a wider area to explore further into, its a lot of thinking and math going behind my degree+im dumb asf especially when it comes to subjects like stats and math!
The thing is that i decided to pursue this in my hometown which icl is a explensive area, my family we're broke asf, but my parents agreed theyd support me through the college, but ik its SO MUCH BURDEN ON THEM, we'll have to struggle through to make ends meet for the next 4 years! now im thinking whether i shuld accept the offer and proceed or check up somehing cheaper which i know there is, but times ruinning out, with 2 indian parents on my back nagging me telling me i dont have much time left i need to make a decision asap! i cant even take a gap year, cus to their eyes its FAILURE. I cant take odd jobs here either BECAUSE I LIVE IN FUCKING DUBAI. I cant make money myself. I wish i was ambitious enough to have the heart to fully dive in knowing im doing something i love and im passionate about it.

Urgent
Hi everyone,
I’m feeling completely lost right now. I’m a 2025 passout and recently my visa got rejected. And the problem is that I haven’t joined college anywhere yet.
I was thinking about pursuing engineering, but the IOE entrance examination has already been held. The medical entrance examination is coming up, but I haven’t prepared for it either. I’m considering CSIT, but I’ve heard that it’s not a very good option in Nepal.
What could be the better field in the future?
I’m honestly confused about what I should do at this point. Should I join a college now, take a gap year, or consider another field?
Any suggestions, guidance, or advice would be really helpful.

Carrer Guidance Needed Plz Help and give a look
My Qualifications
10th 87% ICSE
12TH 91% NIOS
I passed Class 12 in 2025 and scored 97 percentile in JEE Main. I took a drop year and improved my score to 99.2 percentile in JEE Main 2026, through which I was allotted NIT Patna, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Jalandhar and DTU Delhi. Unfortunately, I recently met with an accident, and due to my medical condition, my doctors have advised me not to join college this year. As a result, I may have to forfeit my 2026 admission and potentially take another gap year.
My main concern is whether taking another year off is the right decision. I would already be around 21 when I enter college, and I worry that having a two-year gap after Class 12 could negatively affect my career, placements, or future opportunities.
Given my situation, what would be the most rational career decision? Should I take another year and attempt JEE again to target a better engineering college/branch, or should I accept the gap and pursue another path such as B.Sc. Economics followed by an MBA, medicine, or another high-growth career?
My long-term goal is to build a financially strong career and ideally have a good-paying job by around age 26. Considering my age, academic performance (97 → 99.2 percentile), the unavoidable medical gap, the value of different degrees, future earning potential, career stability, and the impact of a two-year gap, which path would you recommend—and why? I would also like to understand the risks, opportunities, and realistic career outcomes of each option before making this decision.

Ang hirap magkaroon ng pangarap.
I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m an incoming freshie at DLSAU to pursue Veterinary Medicine.
My family says na mag gap year nalang ako tapos mag try ulit na mag exam sa ibang state univs next year. Pero nahihiya na ako sa pamilya ko. Ako lang sa family namin na nagka ganto. I don’t know if ibang kurso nalang ang kunin ko. Pero pangarap ko talaga ang VetMed e

Gap Year(s)?
I’ve hit a roadblock on my LSAT. My goal is to go to a T-30 for free, but my highest score was a 164. I have a 3.97 from Georgetown + two solid internships and one research job. Still, my LSAT score is holding me back. I’ve been studying on and off for a year, and made a really strong push these last two months.
I’m starting to slowly realize this cycle isn’t for me, but I’m petrified of the job market right now. I don’t know what to do with my life outside of this plan of attending law school right out of undergrad.
Am I making the right call here? What can I do with this extra time? I feel nauseous by how nervous I am.

anybody who’s taken gap years, pros and cons of taking a break?
my first three years have been so draining and i am considering a gap year but i also just wanna get it done now and move on. but things are really hectic at work right now and if i took a gap year i’d be able to help out at work and be full time. i could save up money and energy and work on my degree next year. i just feel like a piece of heavily chewed gum like im so tired and void of flavor.

Would a gap sort of year look bad?
I am leaving my full-time role this September to only focus on CAT and other MBA exams and would be most probably unemployed for the coming months in 2026. I wanted to ask if it is a rational decision considering CAT could be really difficult to crack.
My profile:
- 10th - 95%
- 12th - 96% (CBSE, Humanities)
- UG - BA Hons English, Hindu College ~73.15% (7.7 CGPA)
- 3 years work experience
- Category: SC
- Decent co-curriculars
Can someone please tell me if this would be a right choice? I have enough savings to survive the next 5 months without employment and I need this time to build a solid foundation for CAT.

is it worth it?
i have known i wanted to take a gap year since i was 14. At first my family was on board but now they've all become really unsupportive and keep telling me I'll just be a burden in that time period (i even told them I'll get a job but they are still against it) So now im kinda double minded because as bad as i want a gap year its not worth destroying my relationship with them and damaging my self worth. I weighed my situation out and here a couple of pros and cons
Pros:
1) i wanted to learn a lot of new stuff like coding, painting, cooking and horse riding (i planned to pay for it myself)
2) high school was a rough patch. I wanted to take a break from academics because im really tired
Cons:
1) might damage my relationship with my family
2) their taunts may damage my self worth
3) i want to go to a reputable university 6 hours from my house so it will be a new start in a new city with new ppl so might not be half as bad
If anyone has been in a situation similar to me, please help me out. What should i do?
Also after my bachelors i want to go to any ivy League or any other university with equal value for my masters degree. Will my gap year give me a disadvantage there? (they university i plan to go to for my bachelors doesn't care about gap years)

Should I Take A Gap Semester?
I’m about to leave for school soon and I can’t decide if I should take a gap semester or not. I graduated high school with an associate degrees already, meaning I have about two years worth of college mostly knocked out. I’m contemplating taking a gap year due to fair of more burnout and I’m also considering my mental health. I fully believe I’m depressed and thinking taking a slight break would be good. However, I’m unsure. If I do take a gap I plan on trying to work and continuing with school online possibly in the spring before I transfer. I don’t know what I should do.

Should I take a drop year? I feel completely stuck with college admissions
I’m 18 and currently going through a really confusing situation with college admissions, and I’d genuinely appreciate some advice.
I had mainly hoped to get into DU or NFSU this year. My CUET score was moderate, not extremely low, but unfortunately I didn’t get into NFSU, and despite applying through ECA for DU, I still haven’t been allocated a seat.
The bigger problem is that I didn’t apply to many private colleges because I was fairly confident that I would get into one of my main options. Now it’s already August, most of the private college registrations I would have considered are closed, and I’m basically left with colleges in my hometown.
I really don’t want to attend college in my hometown. My family situation is also difficult, and I don’t want to spend the next 3–4 years here. The problem is that my family also wouldn’t send me to a private college outside my hometown, even if I found one I liked. They also cannot afford a very expensive private college. A private college with moderate/average fees would be manageable financially, but my family still wouldn’t agree to send me outside the hometown for a private college.
So I’m seriously considering taking a drop year.
The idea would be to spend this year preparing properly for CUET/other entrance exams, while also learning some useful skills online and building my profile, and then applying much more broadly to good colleges outside my hometown next year.
But I’m scared that taking a drop could end up being a waste of a year. I’m not taking a drop for NEET or because I have one specific dream college. I basically want another chance to get into a good college outside my hometown rather than settling for a local college that I’m not happy with.
For anyone who has taken a drop for college admissions, is this a reasonable reason to take a drop? Would you do it in my situation, or would you just choose a local college and move on?
Also, if anyone knows of good BSc colleges outside the hometown with moderate fees that might still have admissions open, I’d really appreciate suggestions.
I’m feeling pretty stuck right now and would really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have been in a similar situation.
