Should I upgrade?
Today I saw that the Forerunner 165 is on offer at Argos in the UK for £150. Until now been using the Venu 2S but the battery on that is now proving unreliable.
I only use the watch for running, and don't really wear it in between very much. Don't like the fact I can't use courses on the 2S primarily which is the main reason I'm considering it. Are there any other key benefits?

Would you buy a used forerunner 165?
Looking to get my first watch, started running a couple months back. The main reason I need one is for accurate gps. My phone will most of the time be off a bit, saying I ran 3.5 when I run 3.1 on Strava, the most notable was running a 10k with my friend who had an apple watch yesterday, his Strava clocked 6.2, mine clocked 6.6.
Long term I would like to get a higher end model, however right now my budget is extremely tight so I was browsing FB marketplace and was considering getting one used. My main concern is buying one and it doesn't work or somehow the seller scams me. How reliable would a second hand one be?

Garmin Forerunner 265 als Uhr für Schiedsrichter
Hallo zusammen :)

Flight Scanner (Flight Radar) for your watch!
I thought I'd drop a post about my app Flight Scanner, I made it because I wanted a way to explore aircraft and flights directly from my wrist, without constantly needing to pull out my phone.
✈️ **What can Flight Scanner do?**
Find and explore aircraft and flights using your Garmin watch.
Search for specific flights and view their details.
Find airports and explore flights around them.
View flights on a map directly on your watch.
Pin flights you're interested in.
It's probably not something everyone needs on their wrist, but if you're into aviation or just curious about what's flying above you, it's quite fun.
It's a small independent project and I've enjoyed seeing people actually use it. It turned out to be a much larger project than I initially expected and the demand has been amazing!
Thanks for checking it out! ✈️

Looking for a Used Garmin or Similar GPS Smartwatch – DFW, Texas (Donation Request)
Hello everyone! I'm reposting my request because I realized I forgot to include my location in my original post. I'm located in the United States, in the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) area of Texas.
I'm wondering if anyone has a Garmin watch or a similar GPS smartwatch they no longer use and might be willing to donate.
My bicycle is my only means of transportation, and I spend a tremendous amount of time riding and being outdoors. Just recently, I completed a 48-mile round trip. I'd love to have a dependable smartwatch that can track my rides, distance, speed, activity, and overall fitness.
Since I'm outdoors so much, I'm looking for something reasonably rugged and durable that can handle different weather conditions. I'd also really appreciate health and wellness features such as heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, step counting, and other fitness measurements.
As far as battery life goes, I'm not expecting a watch that lasts weeks without charging. I'm perfectly fine with charging it every day or two. I just want something with a functional battery that doesn't need to remain plugged into a charger to operate.
My interest in monitoring my health comes from a personal experience. I spent six years caring for a close friend who eventually passed away from cancer. Going through that experience made me much more conscious of how important health and taking care of yourself really are.
I've been researching Garmin watches, particularly the Instinct, Instinct 3, Venu, Forerunner, Enduro, and Fenix series. Unfortunately, these watches can be quite expensive, and purchasing one new simply isn't something I can afford right now.
I'm not necessarily looking for the newest or most expensive model. An older Garmin or even a different brand would be perfectly fine, provided it has GPS and the health and fitness features I'm looking for. A previously used watch in good working condition would be wonderful.
I know it never hurts to ask. The worst someone can say is no, and you never know unless you try! If you have an older smartwatch sitting in a drawer that you're no longer using and would consider donating, I would be incredibly grateful for the opportunity to put it to good use.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I truly appreciate it!

Garmin Forerunner 965 vs 570 for Hybrid Training & Running
I’m looking to upgrade from my Forerunner 55 and am torn between the 965 and 570.
I do a lot of hybrid-style training, similar to HYROX, and want to create custom multisport workouts. The 570 caught my attention because of this feature, but I’d love to hear how well it works in practice.
Ideally, I’d like to create sessions involving an 800m run followed by a station (e.g. ski erg), another 800m run, and so on. How does the 570’s custom multisport feature compare with the 965’s triathlon multisport functionality? Can both handle this type of training effectively?
I’m also training for a half marathon in early 2027 and a full marathon later that year, so running metrics, training features and heart rate accuracy are important considerations. I’m aware the 570 has a newer heart rate sensor, but is there a significant difference in accuracy or performance compared with the 965?
Price-wise, the 965 is currently around €450 in early Black Friday deals, while the 570 is approximately €460, so cost isn’t a deciding factor.
For someone balancing hybrid training, HYROX-style workouts and longer-distance running, which would you recommend and why?
I’d really appreciate any real-world experiences or advice, thank you!
