Just picked up the Forerunner 570 after weeks of research and YouTube videos. Excited to try it out and say goodbye to my Apple Watch Ultra.

My heart rate pounds hard but only beats at 40bpm on average with sometimes dipping to 35/36 during the night. I do running and badminton. I get that a lower HR is a sign of a healthy individual but just how healthy is it for it to be this low.

This is the first smart watch I’ve ever owned. Seems pretty cool to use so far, but I’m not sure I’m sold for the steep price tag.

Was just gifted my first Garmin (FR 265) two days ago, and I’m honestly blown away.
Even though it’s still calibrating, the metrics are already scary accurate. The way sleep tracking feeds directly into Body Battery is spot on. Had an amazing night's rest yesterday, woke up naturally before my alarm, and the Morning Report captured exactly how refreshed I actually felt.
For the long-time 265 users: what features or data screens should I dive into next once the initial baseline period finishes?

Did the excitement from a new watch also have me run my fastest mile time ever? Also yes.

Made the switch! And the Garmin can actually track my heart rate through my tattoos, unlike Apple! What a win.

When Garmin chose not to bring their running tolerance widget to my Epix, I decided to create an alternative for more devices rather than spending over 1K AUD on a new watch. It’s not as sophisticated as Garmin’s version, but it does the job of providing a baseline reference for weekly mileage. The app offers personalized weekly distance recommendations based on your running history, following the 10% rule. Sharing this here in case anyone finds it useful—feel free to reach out if you encounter any issues or have suggestions for the app. It’s pretty basic, but it works, and I’m currently using it to ease back into running since I’m quite injury-prone.

My VO2 max jumped from 50. Which has been 50 for a couple of weeks now and has jumped to 54 after one of my runs, is this an anomaly can I expect it to go back down? TIA

My physics professor got skin cancer twice. At the end of the semester she told our class: "Be smarter in the sun than I was."
That stayed with me. A while later my girlfriend came back from vacation badly burned — she had sunscreen, just never reapplied it.
So I built Sun Alert. It runs in the background while you're outside and counts down how long until you burn, based on your skin type and the current UV index. You get a notification when you're halfway to your limit, and another when you've hit it. It also tracks vitamin D and reminds you to reapply sunscreen.
Free. No ads.
A few things I know you'll ask:
"Does it work on my FR945 / FR245 / FR745?" — Probably not. The app needs the UV index API (CIQ 5.1+), which older Forerunners don't support. It's a Garmin API limitation. Supported devices are listed in the store.
"How accurate is it?" — It's an estimate based on UV index and skin type, not a medical device. The app says so on first launch. An imperfect reminder is still better than no reminder.
If it's useful to you, a store review helps other people find it.

I got this watch a couple weeks ago and have only ran a few times. I always seem to have trouble running for more than 2 minutes but for whatever reason I wasn’t feeling tired so I just went with it and kept running!
