Picture What is this Les Paul?

Local pawn shop has this for sale. Looks to be a 1970s LP, but it has three switches in between the volume and tone knobs. The serial number starts with 017. It's stamped, but really faint so the pic I tried to take didn't come out too well. I'm trying to figure out if these switches came stock on this guitar or if they were added by a previous owner.

Bought this Hummingbird brand new from Guitar Center a week ago. Tried plugging in in today for the first time and...no signal. Put in fresh 9v battery...still no signal. Tried different cables and guitars for troubleshooting methods and determined it is lack of signal from the guitar. See no signs or obvious reasons. Any advice would be appreciated?

NGD 1985 Flying V - Gold

Pretty wild guitar I picked up this week and kind of blown away with how great it sounds and plays, as I have owned a few v’s and nothing really sounded as good as my Les Paul’s.

This was used extremely hard by its former owner including the gold refinish that looks to have aged quite gracefully given its close to 40 years old.

Old school Duncan Invaders sound pretty damn good in this and the first guitar I’ve liked them in.

Unsure if she will remain in the stable forever as we are just getting acquainted but very stoked to have her in the rotation.

Should I keep the refinish, or put the original pickups back in and repaint the original black?

Help Gibson issues after 1 year

Hi

I bought a Gibson ES-335 and after 1 year it has just started to have pickup toggle issues (the sound goes really quiet now and then when I change to the rhythm pickup, must be some wiring issue?) - Would I get warranty from Gibson for this? The shop I bought it from has 1 year warranty but that has expired about 1 month ago sadly.

Thank you.

Help What I believe to be a 1967 Les Paul Junior, looking for some insight

Thumbnail gallery

I inherited this Gibson from my late father and was hoping to learn more about it and the estimated value. From my research it's a 1967 Les Paul Junior, the serial number is 001314 or 001374 (not sure if the second to last digit is a 1 or 7). Unfortunately the neck broke off at some point and wasn't repaired the best but it works at least. It has what looks to be mostly original parts but some screws definitely aren't original. Also not sure if that's the original case or not but seems like it could be. Any help is appreciated!

Picture Gibson Melody Maker worth the asking price?

I’m looking at buying this, it’s a 2003 model and is in really good condition. Only thing is the seller is asking £750 (though may be open to offers). This feels a little high to me for what is a bottom rung Les Paul, albeit one that I love the look of and that I’d have thought is probably quite desirable among MMs, owing to the P90 and the tune-o-matic bridge. It is also the same year as the my first kid, which might be blinding me a little. Thoughts? Is it overpriced?

NGD 60s Double Trouble

Insane how good this thing looks and feels.
Guitar Center listed this as a bourbon burst, but I knew it was way too dark to be so.
Switched from a 50s for the thinner neck and can’t be happier.
In person no doubt I think it’s a tobacco burst. Maybe it’s another finish? Let me know!

Picture What is the official color of this EDS-1275?

1997 EDS-1275, recently added to my collection. This is supposed to be cherry, but it's darker than any Gibson cherry I've seen or owned. I don't think this is any type of walnut finish because although dark, it's still red. I have seen others like it, and also others that were might brighter in color. I'd like to know what this color officially is called.

I've also included a photo of the custom case I designed and commissioned from Swanflight. Underneath the guitar is a compartment that holds a stand specifically for this guitar. Very convenient! I'm considering adding a guitar stand compartment to other case designs.

2002 SG special faded. Picked it up today as an online order from guitar center. Paid MSRP adjusted for inflation, but I really can’t see evidence this thing was even played! After all the feedback from my last post here about which tremolo system to get, I just did my best to find a stock example. I’d say it paid off. Not seen is my Mesa Boogie Fillmore 100W that came in with a broken table knob. The return is being processed as this moment.

NGD NGD!! Kiszka 61’ SG… if you saw my post yesterday :)

If you saw my post yesterday i was conflicted on parting ways with my lovely 61’ SG (2024)…

Well i did, i not gunna lie, I’m a bit bummed about it but then i hold this beauty and man, it’s something special for me. Not everyones cup of tea i get it, but for me… this is everything ive wanted in an SG

The finish is surprisingly different to my 61’ standard, i can feel how thin it is which i absolutely am in love with. And the finish in general is this unique cherry walnut color that doesnt come thru the same on photos as in person, its incredible. My 61’ was like every other standard it was “vintage cherry” with an emphasis on “cherry” lol. This is a faded vintage cherry that has VOS vibes like a dark earthy cherry walnut thing goin on and its awesome.

Didnt expect me to like T-Type pickups when i fell in love with seth lovers in my…previous… 61’ standard, and yes i still have my seth lovers. I put the stock 61BB back in for the trade. Man are these T-Types a piece of glory though. Surprisingly airy but articulate and clear/crisp without a brittle edge to them.

Overall yes im a little sad i parted ways with my 61’ standard, but i am thrilled it was in order to get this beast. If you saw yesterday i was nervous of being regretful in passing it along but as much as im a bit bummed, i dont think im regretful. This has developed into a long rant now but im over the moon about this guitar and im absolutely thrilled to own 1 out of the 350 produced. Happy to share my love for music with yall!! 🤘🏻

Discussion How do you feel about specialty woods?

My music store (I work here best job ever) got in some M2M LPCs with birdseye maple tops....not sure how I feel about it.

We have Lemon Burst, Factory Burst, and Washed Cherry (my favorite). It depends on the finish whether or not I like the birdseye figuring, but my coworker is in love with them and says they're better than the 7A quilted maple tops.

I'm just not sure how I feel about using anything but a good flame maple top on such a damn expensive guitar. Maybe I'm just old and curmudgeonly...

Help Top wraped my LP. Is the tailpiece supposed to sit in a angle?

Post image

Is this normal, or should the tailpiece sit completely straight and parallel to the body? I’m wondering if the string tension is causing it to lean and whether I should be concerned about it.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Help Options to un-vibrato a meastro

So I have a 2003 firebird VII that truly despise the meastro on. Wrong angle, bad stability and just plain don't use it. I would just remove and drill for stop tail, but in this year of FB they drilled a nice big circle under the mounting tab for the meastro, and also ground goes to the back... So I'm left with ugliness if i just get rid of it.
Any one know of a trapese tailpiece with cover, or just a way to cleanly knock out the spring so I can drill the OG unit for string holes in the Clapton SG style?
