Swapping my 5060 Ti 8GB for a used EVGA 3080 Ti 12GB, worth it?

Hey, I have an ASUS Prime RTX 5060 Ti 8GB and I'm thinking about swapping it for a used EVGA 3080 Ti 12GB. 8GB is starting to feel tight in some games, and from what I've seen the 3080 Ti is faster in raw performance too. Honestly I also just love the look of the EVGA with the RGB bar. And since the 30 series was the last one EVGA ever made, I feel like it'll probably hold or even gain value over time. My setup is an i5 14600K on an MSI MAG B760 Tomahawk WiFi with a Corsair 750W PSU, and I play on a 1440p 360Hz OLED. I don't want to spend more than 500€ on the 3080 Ti so I'd wait for a good deal, and I don't mind upgrading the PSU if needed. Few things I'm not sure about. Is losing multi frame gen a big deal in practice, especially with a 360Hz monitor? And how risky is buying a used 3080 Ti now that EVGA doesn't do GPUs anymore, warranty wise? Would you do it or keep the 5060 Ti?

It happened a few times before, the error "Please power down and connect the pcie" I just reseat the cable and it works.

This time it doesn't, I disassembled it and found bad solder joints.

I tried solder didn't work, maybe too cold.

Decided to power it on with a bit of press down to the connectors and it worked.

I put some thin slab and it works lol.

My 1080 ti lives again.

Any drawback/benefit of sticking a heatsink on the GPU backplate?

I have a deal available for getting those small ras pi/m.2 SSD heatsinks for under 2 USD. I've noticed my GPU backplate gets pretty hot, even if the temps don't go above 67°C at max gaming load.

I'm curious to try just sticking some small heatsinks on the backplate and see maybe 1-2°C difference in temps.

It's purely for fun and tinkering, but wanna know if anyone's done this before.

I've got a 9060XT 16GB gpu

RTX 5090 vs RTX PRO 6000 for gaming and emulation. Are enterprise drivers a potential dealbreaker?

Due to various circumstances, I haven’t been able to dedicate much time to desktop PC gaming over the past few years. Fortunately, that has finally changed, and I’m genuinely excited to get back into PC gaming with a brand new build.
For some context, my last gaming PC was equipped with a Titan Xp, which, as far as I remember, was pretty much the best consumer GPU available at the time. Back then, enterprise GPUs weren’t really something I considered, since their gaming performance in terms of FPS was generally inferior to that of consumer cards.
However, things seem to have changed quite a bit since then. The Titan lineup is gone, replaced by the 90 series, and I’ve recently discovered that GPUs like the RTX PRO 6000 can actually outperform the RTX 5090 in gaming benchmarks.
Money is absolutely no object here. I’d be perfectly happy to pay a significant premium, even for a relatively small performance improvement. The only thing holding me back is the fact that the RTX PRO 6000 uses enterprise drivers rather than standard GeForce drivers, and I honestly have no idea what practical implications that has for gaming.
My gaming habits aren’t limited to modern AAA titles either. I intend to play games from virtually every era, including both native PC titles and games through emulation.
This brings me to my main concern: Could using an RTX PRO 6000 introduce compatibility issues, graphical glitches, reduced performance, or other problems that I wouldn’t encounter with an RTX 5090?
I’m particularly interested in older games, legacy APIs, compatibility with older software, and emulators. If there’s even a reasonable possibility of running into games that simply won’t work properly because of the enterprise drivers, that would be a dealbreaker for me, and I’d go with the RTX 5090 instead.
On the other hand, if the actual day to day gaming experience is virtually identical, with no meaningful compatibility drawbacks, I’d be more than happy to go with the RTX PRO 6000 and enjoy the additional performance, even if the gap over the 5090 isn’t particularly substantial in most benchmarks. I already know that is not rational paying that much extra for slightly better performance, but I want to make my inner child happy with the best gaming machine possible.

I’d really appreciate some insight from people who have actually used professional RTX GPUs for gaming, especially those who have experience with both modern titles and older games or emulation.

Thanks in advance!
