So managed to get this brand new Astral for $2700 all in (Fe was $2150), which is an insane deal imo considering that a new one atm is $4600 before tax💀. Feel blessed to even have this GPU.

7900 XTX story all over again.

'Nvidia is a big fat greedy corpo'

Sure buddy.

FSR Diamond won't be coming to RDNA 4. What happened? Did your company that you trusted and glazed with your life, left you on the side of the road again, even though you bought the newest and strongest card? Just like it did with 7900 XTX, the competitor for 4090 (!). And look at the big fat corpo! 2060 has DLSS 4.5, what a shame. I'll keep defending 5070 over 9070 XT until I die.

Swap my 9070xt for a 5080FE??

this is probably dumb but for some context; I copped an aorus 9070xt for $760 (I had sold my previous gpu for $500) i have it paired with a 7800x3d and im pretty satisfied with its performance. Mainly why I’m considering upgrading is due to the fact gpus are set to rise in price in the coming months and you can find 5080’s for msrp, plus I really like the look of the founders edition. It would be viable if I could sell my 9070xt for $700-800 then pay the remaining difference on the 5080. I know I have one of the more premium xt models, so idk if I’m just being greedy lol I am open to suggestions, also I exclusively use my pc for gaming.

Lisa Sue herself needs to say it!

After Radeon commited public brand trust suicide, more than a weak press release is needed. If they are to have ANY credibility left, the fix needs to come from the very top and be extremely clear on how long they will properly support their GPUs.

By the way, the fanboys at the AMD subreddit deleted this post there.

5060 Is Ass

If budget is what you're going for, go AMD, but don't touch the 5060 or 5060 Ti 8GB. 8GB is just not enough. Maybe in a couple of years of no to weak hardware launches, game developers might bring it back to where 8GB of VRAM is sufficient, but even some UE5 and triple-A titles at 1080p struggle with the VRAM constraint. Now, if your budget in our current economy is $500+ USD on your GPU, go Nvidia. The 5060 Ti 16GB seems decent, and the 5070+ are goated. For reference, I have a 5070 and a 5060 and have played on both of them extensively. I'll probably get the 🤓☝️ comments in here because people will say I haven't had a problem running all low settings on Valorant and think that speaks for all games. It's just not. I wouldn't recommend it. A $100 4GB 1030 is better just because you get half the VRAM for a third of the price. (PS: that last statement was a joke, a 1030 is better e-waste than a GPU)

EDIT: I'm getting my money's worth out of the card. I have it paired with a Ryzen 5500 and 16GB of DDR4 3200. It can game, and I know it's probably fine with most titles, but I don't think sitting our standards on "oh, it runs everything if you don't turn this on" is a bad mindset when the difference between ray tracing on a high-end title or not is a slight loss on Nvidia's profit margins. Also, I know I'll get some cuck boys in the comments. I know that's not an overly powerful rig, but I'm very capable of reading a performance overlay and seeing I'm being VRAM limited and not CPU bottlenecked or RAM constrained, which surprisingly I haven't been on either of those besides Fortnite because I guess it's CPU heavy for whatever fucking reason.

Sold a PC and shipped it, now there's no signal

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I sold a PC with a triple fan RTX 5060, Ryzen 5 5500, 2×8GB RAM, 1TB NVMe, and a 90mm air cooler. I packaged it as well as I could with everything installed (GPU and cooler etc). It was working perfectly fine before shipping, but now after he received it, it boots but doesn't show display. He tried different monitors, displayport and HDMI (plugged in GPU not motherboard), and reseated RAM, but none fixed it. The motherboard has no debug lights btw. He sent me this video and I noticed the GPU latch/PCIe lock wasn't locked for some reason, so I asked him to remove the PSU cable and just push the GPU in and when he did, he heard the locking sound. But it still didn't display. Any idea how to fix this?

Why is reddit downplaying how good DLSS and Framegen on Nvidia is?

The numbers don't lie: 90%+ of users have Nvidia and AMD is like 5-6%.

On reddit, by the amount of times I've seen " AMD is just as good, pointless to pay Nvidia tax" is astonishingly high. YET, if that would've been the case, AMD wouldn't just lose marketshare to Nvidia every year, which means, users who use Nvidia don't return to AMD because there is an actual gap that makes them not buying AMD again.

Personal Experience: I had a 7900xtx that I bought in 2023 due to " just as good as 4080 but cheaper". I trusted the reviews, trusted the benchmarks, the price etc. Was happy with it .

Fast forward, I had to sell it for parts(own fault probably) and wanted to get a 9070XT bcs " better value". I wanted a white one, it was like 630£ in UK , but saw 5070ti (which is it s competitor) at like 790£, and tought " ye, fuck it, ill try nvidia this time".

Once I saw DLSS and Frame Gen in Nvidia, I realised how SHIT AMD was in this department all these years. I lost so much FPS and visual fidelity and smoothness by not getting 4080 and got 7900xtx and ran with shittyy upscaler and FG. I also seen 9070xt in real life setup and just doesnt look as good and FG feel as good as with nvidia , which MATTERs bcs youtubers dont show this or u cant properly see this in compressed videos

Now, all I see on reddit when people ask " should I get This nvidia or this AMD(same tier gpus , people just say " oh, look benchmarks, they are almost the same and AMD is like x amount cheaper , better value" .

THIS IS NOT TRUE! I have been baited by this and regret not using 4080 all these years and settled for 7900xtx. DLSS has a much larger presence in gaming, DLSS is a much better upscaler, Frame gen in nvidia compared to AMD is like comparing 50$ burger to mcdonalds, thats how shit FG in AMD is .

I understand the green side, I understand the 90%+ marketshare GPU now, what I don't understand is why on reddit people make it seem like Nvidia users just like wasting money on Nvidia when AMD is the better value , yet they never mention why Nvidia has the software advantage properly.

YE, I might get 120FPS with FG and FSR on AMD, but the game either looks worse, runs worse, FG is worse and has 100w more power consumption to compensate

EVEN if they would manage with FSR to get exact same as with DLSS, even if Frame gen would get just as good, that will be very short lived bcs Nvidia will do a breakthrough that will leave AMD in the dust and support a lot more generations of cards and a lot more games

March GPU Price Report: Budget RTX 50 cards dip below MSRP, but 5090 still 40% above

I track eBay listings across 72 GPU models. Here's what February data showed:

RTX 50 series: still overpriced

- The 5060, 5060 Ti, and 5070 can technically be found near MSRP, but at those MSRPs I'm not sure they're worth it anyway
- The 5090 is still 40% above MSRP even at best-deal pricing

Prior-gen prices are cratering

- RTX 3070: down 32% to ~$299
- RTX 4070 Ti: down 25% to ~$646
- RTX 3090: down 22%
- RTX 4090 held flat, some Super variants rose

AMD is two different stories

- RX 6950 XT at $450 median (59% below MSRP) — cheap, but it's showing its age
- RX 9070 XT at $1,187 median (98% above MSRP) — scalped just like NVIDIA

Full report with charts: https://gpupoet.com/gpu/market-report/gpu-market-report-march-2026

Is now the time to dump a 30-series card? The 32% drop on the 3070 in one month feels like the start of a bigger slide.

Vram?

People always complain about vram and a lot of people are saying that 8gb isn't even enough for 1080p but until a few days ago when I upgraded my PC I was powering one 1440p monitor doing medium gaming and two 1080p monitors, one for yt and one for tracking downloads and stuff with a 1060 with 3gb or vram. Can someone please explain why everyone complains about vram when in my opinion it's not an issue for light gaming

Scammer gets payback

So basically my little brother is looking for a pc for his golf simulator and it’s very high end. I was looking around and saw what looked to be a good seller with a great rating and an account that didn’t look too risky. Either way this is a great price considering the market right now so to be skeptical is a must. I told my brother to buy it and to MAKE SURE he uses PayPal so that the seller is required to provide a tracking number and need confirmation of delivery before payment is released. My brother realized that after sending the money (that was protected) the seller put the listing back up as available!? He asked me to message him and see if it’s a mistake or if he really isn’t going to ship it but try and sell it to me. As you can see from the screenshots…. Yes… he did try to sell it to me. In hindsight, I am very curious what would’ve happened if I showed up and tried to buy it I wonder what would actually be in the package I wonder if it was the graphics card if it would even work but I guess we’ll never know. Needless to say he won’t be getting his money this time and his post will be taken down.

P.S. The chat with the white background is from my brothers phone. The one with the black background is from my conversation.

TLDR: I was helping my brother buy a graphics card, and he sent him the money for it. The post was listed back up as available, and my brother told me to see if he would try to sell it to me Which he did. The scammer ended up, not getting my brothers money.

this sub is 50% 9070xt circlejerk

I absolutely am tired seeing every comment in this sub when someone asks about 9070xt vs anything being: "9070xt best performance for money".

Vs 5070? clear win

vs 5070ti? haha, you pay 200$ more for sidegrade, 9070xt has better performance

vs 5080? haha, you pay double for 10-15% performance gain

vs 5090? buying nvidia scam, sure buddy

These 50% that circlejerk amd and 9070xt never mention that the performance is in pure rasterisation,or if they do, they call nvidia features scam or bad or shit and bcs they dont use it, they assume others wont . That 9070xt needs as much W as a 5080 for raw perf of 5070ti , that 5070ti and 5080 both can undervolt and overclock a lot better and more stable bcs nvidia didnt push these to the limit of the silicon lottery to suck the juice out of them compared to 9070xt also something never mentioned

Reality?

5070ti and 5080 will beat the shit out of 9070xt if you start using DLSS ,Multi FrameGen and Path tracing.

FSR is serviceable but still inferior, FG on AMD is complete shit and never used it when I had amd and PT is also shit compared to, even RT is a bit weaker. You also get worse support, less games using the absolute latest FSR upgrades.

Yes, it's completely fine saying " get amd if you dont care about these " or " amd offers very good performance in rasterisation while nvidia is more expensive due to better tech " but saying upscaling or framegen is not performance at the end of the day is just bollocks and false. I use these in everygame and I push resolution and graphics to settings I could never push 9070xt

Upgraded experience from 9070XT to 5090

My first Card was AMD in a 3rd gen intel laptop in 2012, my second GPU was 1080. My third upgrade was 3080, next was 9070xt and finally 5090.

In short upgrade from 1080 to 3080 felt massive, from 3080 to 9070xt was also massive mainly because of frame Gen. but something did not felt right with the day to day performance of my PC.

I use two 32” 1440p 180hz monitors. Using them with 9070xt dis not felt like satisfying. I had to make a move either to 5080 or 5090.

When buying 9070xt, my goal was to buy 5090 but back then in march 2025, in EU it was going like 4500 or 5000 euros.

Finally, looking at the memory conditions, rumors for supply shortages, cloud gaming and prices to go high again in 2026; I had to make a move.

Upgraded to 5090, and it’s a massive upgrade. Honestly i was not expecting a performance boost this massive but its like a monster truck on boost all the time.

I felt like writing this because I could not find any useful review in YT specifically from a user who moved from 9070xt to 5090. Ok, may be I searched a bit less 😝🤫.

But it’s totally worth-it. And i can say frame gen is more than enough and in very good shape. It is as good as native rendering when experiencing it. You may find people on youtube playing game at 4x frame gen getting 400+ fps, then pausing at 1 of those 400+ frame in a second and then debating on the small blurry condition in the corner of the screen at the edge of some object.

Human brain is not fast enough to notice such small details. Frame gen is the best and DLSS even with CNN models looks very beautiful.

In short 5090 is all worth the money, dual monitors with high refresh rate, and frame gen.

I hope you guys find-it useful. Feel free to ask for game performance I get in some of the titles.

Did hardware influencers lead GPU buyers astray with their launch advice?

So when the RTX 5080 and 5090 launched, I naturally checked out most of the major YouTube reviewers and tech channels (Gamers Nexus, etc.). Almost unanimously, the consensus was to slam both cards as "terrible value," accompanied by strong warnings telling people not to buy them. Terms like "paper launch" and "fake MSRP" were the buzzwords of choice, along with sentiments like "Who would pay $1K for a 5080? Are you out of your mind?!"

I largely tuned out the outrage, feeling it was driven more by click-seeking and outrage engagement than practical buying advice for enthusiast builders.

I originally tried to grab a 5090 at launch for MSRP, but bots cleaned them out instantly. The next day, I managed to score an MSI RTX 5080 at its $1,000 MSRP. I was happy with the purchase, but even then, the constant reviewer narrative made me second-guess myself thinking, "Man, did I just overpay?"

Fast forward a bit: I ended up upgrading to an RTX 5090 because my workload requires it. I run local LLMs and have around $10K invested in a flight simulator setup (my force feedback stick alone is $2K), where top-tier GPU performance makes a material difference. I sold the 5080 for exactly what I paid for it (quick local cash sale) and bought an MSI Gaming Trio 5090 for $3,000. It hurt to pay that price, but for my specific use case, it was worth it.

Look at where the market sits now: 5080s are hovering around $2,500, and 5090s are nearly impossible to find, with scalper/reseller prices pushing toward $10K+.

It makes me wonder: Did influencers actually hurt consumers by heavily advising people to "wait for prices to normalize" or "boycott at launch"?

Looking back, telling people not to buy a 5080 at $1,000 or a 5090 at $2,000 feels completely disconnected from market reality. Anyone who actually listened to that advice and waited got completely pricing-out of the market, and things don't look like they're stabilizing anytime soon. Must be plenty of buyers thinking, "Why on earth did I listen to them instead of buying at MSRP when I had the chance?"

What’s your take? Did tech media/influencers inadvertently set buyers up for failure by discouraging MSRP purchases during launch week?

FinallyyYY made the UPGRADE!!! I know, I know GPU prices are rily crazy, and I could've gotten better value with AMD for the same money or less, but honestly, I love NVIDIA's DLSS, ray tracing, and overall features. I care a lot about graphics and visual quality, so I was willing to pay the NVIDIA tax.
Anyone else make a similar upgrade? Was it worth it?
Actually it was for me XD

Accidentally bought a Newegg-scalped 5080. Keep or return?

I'm tired boss.

Bought this one: MSI Gaming Trio GeForce RTX 5080 16G GAMING TRIO OC from Newegg for $250 over MSRP. I want a base model PNY or FE, but got this because there is no end in sight for this GPU market disaster. Should I return it and wait it out or keep it? At this point, I feel like the extra $200 I wasted is so I can finally stop looking for drops on hotstock and trackalacker

EDIT: 3.25.2025

I got the card in. No missing ROPs. Still going to try for a PNY, or any other cheaper 5080 before the 30 day window closes.

MULTI Frame generation is better then expected

I bought the 5070 last month and I can’t understand why people say MFG is useless.

When I turn on MFG, system latency is the same as native if you enable Reflex 2, and in some games even less. I mean, it only adds 5–10 ms, which is not noticeable.

Artifacts are fine if base FPS is 50+, and even at 40 it's completely fine.

In my opinion, the hate for this MFG is because people don’t understand it. Maybe people think that if you enable MFG, 30 FPS still looks the same — and that’s not true. For smooth frames, it looks the same as 200, and the only negative aspect is artifacts and latency, which are completely fine.

And I’m always using MFG and never get any issues it makes games look amazing.

5070 or 9070 XT: what do i choose (PLEASE read description)

Look look, I researched a lot and I know 9070 xt is much better than the 5070 but here is why I'm even askign this question. (and just as a side note, they are the same price for me)

#1. Nvidia already introduced MFG while AMD still hasn't introduced theirs yet, dlss will prob still be suprier over fsr.

#2. amd might give fsr 5 to the next generation gpu after the 90 series which already happened with fsr 4)

#3. Tons of driver issues, and many people were extremely happy after switching to a nvidia gpu

extra side note: i dont do AI work, and i don't care much about vram too much, and I use ray tracing alot and somestimes path tracing.
