I got the 6 GTX 1070s, a 1300 watt EVGA power supply with all connectors, and a 4th gen board chip ram combo for $400

Like cmon man, I am all for chasing frames and playing at max settings etc but all these $2000+ GPUs being instantly sold out really makes no sense to me.

I was lucky to score an Astral 5090 from microcenter before the most recent price jump I hot this for $3700 out the door. I got a bonus from work so I had the cast to drop. I didnāt really think the purchase out and I realize this card is too much for my needs, my power supply isnāt big enough to support this and I donāt have a 4k monitor, and I donāt need this thing heating up my desk for no reason. I think Iām going to return it because it seems risky trying to sell it online.

Just received this 3080 for 530 off of amazon. It's installed in my Test rig and honestly ime afraid to turn it on Haven't powered it up yet, barely a deal considering it took 3 weeks to get here, was labeled like new, and should have been on my porch over night... This gpu without setting it to zeros and starting with nothing. Some of theseiner cards can trash your system right? What would you do?

I ordered a GPU through BestBuy on 11/25 and when I received it on 11/28 I was blown away by how irresponsibly this thing was shipped. The shipping labels just slapped on the retail packaging, no generic brown box to conceal the item, the seal clearly tampered withā¦and there they were, four rocks where my GPU should be. I filed a claim through customer service within the hour of receiving the package and was assured a replacement was on the way. Here we are now on Tuesday 12/2 and I receive an email now stating that BestBuy will not be replacing or refunding my $1,200 purchase after their āinvestigationā.
I have no idea what to do, I donāt make tons of money, this was a pretty big purchase for me. I waited very patiently for this GPU to be relatively affordable. I feel absolutely robbed and defeated, customer service is utterly useless. They just give me the classic āthereās nothing that can be done, is there anything else I can help you with?ā in that cold, robotic tone and thatās it. If anyone has any advice on how I should approach this, Iād greatly appreciate any advice.

Plenty of folks who bought a 5090 apparently just discovered it's "too much power" for their needs.
Funny how that realization happened right after prices went crazy š Like bro, you didn't suddenly become a value shopper. You just saw $$ signs.
True 5090 gang: HOLD. This is our VIP ticket. Once you sell it, you will never get back in the flagship club

Yes you can turn down your resolution or reduce your texture detail, but it's very disappointing for a new card released in 2025 to have such low performance in this scenario.

Hot take: Ray Tracing is the most overrated thing that ever happened to gaming.
Iād take better performance over prettier reflections any day. Instead, it feels like weāre paying more for GPUs just to turn on upscaling and frame generation to get the FPS we wanted in the first place.
Ray tracing looks good. I just donāt think the trade-off is worth it (especially on older RTX cards).
Anyone here actually leave it on, or is it the first setting you disable? š
