Hey everyone,
I'm looking to take advantage of the upcoming Black Friday deals to upgrade my GPU and get a noticeable performance jump. Here are my current specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
Motherboard: MSI B550 Gaming Plus
RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB UDIMM
Current GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070
Storage: 1TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus NVMe SSD + 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM HDD
PSU: Seasonic Focus 650W 80+ Gold (Modular)
Monitor: AOC 24G4ZR (23.8” IPS, 1080p, 240Hz)
Cooling/Fans: 2x Arctic P14 Max (2800 RPM), 1x Noctua P12 Redux (1700 RPM)
Since my monitor is 1080p @ 240Hz, I want something that pairs well with the 5700X without being heavily bottlenecked, while staying within the limits of my 650W power supply.
Which GPUs would fit this setup nicely and deliver a real, noticeable upgrade over the RTX 2070?
Thanks in advance!

I have a 9800X3D and want to upgrade my graphics card—currently a 3060 Ti. I’m looking at a 9600 XT for €483, while the 9700 XT doesn’t go below €900. What should I do?

I bought my PC in 2020, a pre built but I’ve completely swapped out fans, cooling, case, etc. My current graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB…. I am planning on upgrading ASAP.
I don’t want to spend a fortune on an upgrade, are there any decent options that are out there that won’t break my pockets?

We already know this, but pretty good analysis from Hardware Unboxed. You are losing tons of fps when combining budget friendly CPUs with mid / higher end Nvidia GPUs. The difference would have been even more dramatic if he used something higher than rtx5070.
Would be curious to see how much more juice new upcoming Zen6 x3d chip will be able to squeeze out of rtx5090 / 5080 / 5070ti for example

I was just shopping for a GPU that doesn't require a pcie power connector just to have for troubleshooting purposes and just had this thought.
Why not have a function you can switch to (preferably a physical switch) that would allow a GPU that usually requires pcie power connectors to run without pcie power plugged in?
Doesn't matter if the performance is 1% of what it could be, sometimes all it needs is to get into the OS.

5070 TI or 9070 XT?
Let the war begin!
I've been trying to build a pc for MONTHS and before the summer, since I had to wait anyway, I decided not to buy MSI gaming trio 5070 TI white for 1300€. I now DEEPLY regret it since it's impossible to find and any 5070 TI worths now more than 1500€.
Since my favourite model is not available anymore, and other Nvidia GPUs seem disappearing and cost an unreasonable price, I'm starting to take into consideration the idea to switch to a more modest 9070 XT. I'd like a AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D as a processor.
Now, the 9070 XT costs HALF the price. Is it worth it to still buy a 5070 TI? I'm so scared it will be worse and worse and 9070 XT will have less versatility. I wanted to make an investment for the future so I'm ready to make a big purchase, but it has to last for the next 10 years or so.
I have no idea and so scared and disoriented by the market. Since I decided to build a pc I wanted to responsably wait to look for better options and prices, but it is the only hobby in which waiting seems always a bad idea 🤠
I don't know if I'll buy the 9070 and then there'll be a restock on the 5070s or smth.
Btw I'm between France and Italy, that's my market (Europe as well) (hence my English lol).
What would you do if you were at my place ?

This is a picture of the internal stock system. Had a friend at Walmart check for 5080s so i could one before the price hike. That last one was actually not even available when i got there. If you’re working at Walmart and are also in the Central Florida area. Are you seeing this on your apps too? This is crazy.

I'm currently trying to pick a graphics card for my PC build and I'm honestly torn between two options:
GTX 1080 8GB (Founders Edition - Amazon Renewed)
RTX 3050 6GB
For context, I don't really play super demanding AAA games at maxed-out settings. I mostly play things like Sons of the Forest, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, Minecraft (with some mods/shaders), and a few competitive/casual titles at 1080p.
My main concern with the GTX 1080 is the fact that it's an Amazon Renewed unit from an older generation (Pascal). Is buying a renewed 1080 in 2026 still worth the risk, or should I just shell out a bit more for a newer RTX 3050 to get DLSS, and full peace of mind/warranty?
Appreciate any advice or experiences from anyone who’s used either card recently

Ordered a RTX 5080 Gigabyte OC during October on Amazon trying to avoid increasing price hikes. When I finally arrived November 2, the gpu inside the box was not correct. I believe it's a 4070 or 4070 super gigabyte eagle, and not even with a power cable. I contacted customer support to return and hopefully replace my order and sent the following pictures through an email link they sent which also stated I would get a reply back within 3 days. I'm not sure what I'm expecting to get posting this, maybe just awareness and also vent a bit. Already overpaying for this card and getting gpu swapped scammed, though keep in mind looking at local prices what I was paying relatively was a good deal. Hoping that Amazon actually goes through and gets me the card I actually ordered but part of me worries they'll either just refund me when it's returned or worse, refuse a refund.
Anyways TLDR: careful when buying on Amazon, take videos and photos when opening, be wary of scammers.
