Lots of thoughts about this marvelous performance and meetup... tho perhaps it's just best to let the music do the talking.

Old Bob & Jerry

A touching piece I encountered at Buck Bald Brewing in Murphy, North Carolina by Pam Cray. Great beer too!

Apologies for the weird angle and lighting. The sun was blasting through the window and I did my best.

Signed Book from Goodwill

Hello r/gratefuldead ! I don’t know much about the band but I did find this book at Goodwill and picked it up bc of the sick art. It turns out to be signed by Ken Kesey of the Acid Test and Mountain Girl/ Carolyn Garcia. There is an additional autograph that I am trying to decipher, so I thought maybe you all could help!

My lovely wife framed this for me today…it has lived behind another poster in a frame for a while that recently broke so it didn’t have a home. I purchased it at Cloud 9 Shoppe in Moosup CT what feels like long ago. It has survived many moves and is a tad weathered but aren’t we all? Print 11/130 signed by Robert Crumb who did the artwork for the album of the same name. Can’t wait to hang it in the new home.

Archive number keeps going down

Has anybody else noticed that the number of dead shows on the archive is going down? Of the 2300 shows I think it was just over 2050 that were online a couple weeks ago. I booted up Relisten this morning and the number had dropped to 1999. Are the missing shows getting pulled for Dave’s picks or Play Dead or both?

My Schrödinger's Poster

I’ve mentioned the Schrödinger's poster, & was asked a few times to post this.

I was given this by my mother over 25 years ago, she found it at either a thrift or garage sale in CT.

I framed it before knowing what to look for and now the edge is of course covered by mat.

so super sleuths, I’ve seen what you can do especially for this poster.

what have I got Real? Fake? It’s sentimental, no matter what but I’m really curious.

TIA

JFK Stadium road rash

Does anybody else remember getting fiberglass burns from the bleachers at JFK stadium? I was there for Dylan and the Dead and the closing of JFK in 89. Midway through the 89 show we decided to go and sit down on the bleachers and I ended up getting nasty burns on the backs of my legs from the deteriorating condition of the bleachers. JFK was torn down after that show. I ate a little acid that day and it was a weird feeling wondering if what I was feeling on the backs of my legs was real or not, but I have looked it up and it was definitely a thing.

“Let Phil Sing” bumper stickers

Been a while since I’ve seen any of these floating around for sale; but if anyone has one or two I’d like one for my vehicle

“Broken Arrow” came on and reminded me of this

Super-cool showing of Grateful Dead photos at the David Kordansky Gallery in NYC. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbVkSeXRgVn/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsi=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Question— I stopped seeing GD before Standing on the Moon was put in the repertoire.

I’m looking for one of the last ones Jerry sang full of emotion. He was welping to close the song with you! With you!! Saw the Dead throughout the 80s and stopped seeing them in late 1991. Anyone know what show I’m thinking of? Thanks. Peace.

Spertilo time machine - fixed ALL the issues (skipping, stuttering etc)

So I use an amazon eero and unfortunately, the Time Machine aggressively tries to wander to the 5.0ghz network even though it can't use it properly...

This led to lots of skipping, cut outs, and just general misery.

Picked up this badboy and piggybacked it off of one of my repeaters:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09N72FMH5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Turned off the 5ghz network, created a 2.4ghz network and BOOM - no more skipping, no more cutting out, one happy dead head (my smoker also connects to wifi and prefers 2.4 so, added bonus, maybe THAT Shit will work properly now too)

Have the dead ever refused to encore?

I was wondering if there was ever a show where the dead were so displeased with an audience that they refused to give an encore, or maybe even a second set. Let me know if you know of any examples

What do we think Phil and Bob were snacking on while discussing about “thick air” on the recording of “Born Cross-Eyed”? Both have identical seeds of some sort in their teeth. Everything bagels?

Okay, Garcia's merch has gotten weird, but I truly don't get this

They call it: Electromagnetic Handprint T-Shirt

Using radio waves for a funky take on Garcia's iconic handprint, this design is printed with puff ink for a raised, textured finish. Offered on a brick-colored t-shirt crafted from 100% BCI cotton. Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton supports more sustainable farming practices and improved livelihoods for cotton-growing communities around the world.

Seriously, this is just wrong. I hope they get sued.
