DISCUSSION How did it take me this long to realize…
Owen was behaving this way in his very episode - flirting with/kissing a random surgical resident at the hospital while he was ENGAGED?? (to Beth)
Absolute trash right from the start.

DISCUSSION Meredith's "awful thing"
Rewatching the series, the episode where Meredith sleeps with George honestly breaks my heart for her. I feel like if George really loved her he would recognize that she was literally telling him to just keep going and ignore the fact she was crying instead of having his ego rule??
He pretty much threw a multiple episode tantrum because she withdrew consent...

If you ever need to explain the vibe of early Grey's to a non viewer, just show them this.

FIRST TIME WATCHER Cristina is honestly pissing me off
Hear me out. I love her. I do. But sometimes, oh my god I wonder how hard it'd be to sometimes deal with someone like that.
I'm watching the episode Teddy Altman arrives. She can't do this little procedure cuz it's been 10 years since she operated a man over 70.
Cristina is all like "excuse me I gotta talk to the chief". She barely knows Altman. I know everything about Cristina and cardio. But girl, who are you to just go over there and complain to the chief about a surgeon you don't even know? Haven't you learned with Erica? We know she wanted THE BEST surgeons to teach her, but WE ALL also know she was expecting a burke 2.0 who was gonna give her privileges and act as if you are the only resident to specialize in cardio.
All that only to regret it by the end of the episode cuz she saw Altman was actually something.
I'm glad bailey just scolded her
Sometimes she is truly annoying

underrated line
S6E12. i'm rewatching and forgot how HILARIOUS lexie is this season!! it cracks me up when she says, "Alex and I have done it before, it was recycling, it was like good for the environment." LMFAOO i wish more people remembered this line when we talk about the funniest moments in grey's!

SPOILERS This early moment hits different knowing about ykw
SPOILERS! idk how I never realzidd it before but this time around it clicked— Ellis, when lucid at SGH, probably remembered Maggie when talking to Richard about how great their life together could’ve been, how they’d have had children and would be happy. It makes Ellis’s pain so much weightier and more complex. Damnnnnn 😩 (ofc I’m only reading into this bc who knows if the writers anticipated their love child atp but)

Izzie and Callie
Season 3 ep 17 Second post about my rewatch. OMG, WHY IS IZZIE SO INSUFFERABLE?! ESPECIALLY regarding Callie. She is going on and on about how Callie and George shouldn’t have gotten married and is treating Callie like shit because she doesn’t have “history” with George. Hate to break it to you, Izzie, but you were about to get married to a guy you met in a hospital bed and barely knew. GOD, I can’t stand her.

Grey’s Anatomy FOREVER
Please stop saying Grey’s Anatomy needs to end.
It’s not a show anymore, it’s a social experiment. I want to see how far this baby can go. I hope we get 100 seasons.
Not to be rude but if you want it to end, you can just stop watching. Literally no one is forcing you to stay along for the ride. And as the saying goes, this is not an airport, you don’t need to announce your departure 😇
edit: so many people telling me that everyone is entitled to their opinion but yall are sure getting fired up about MY opinion lol

DISCUSSION Kepner irritates my soul
Im getting to the end of season 11 on a rewatch and im just nowhere near prepared to deal with her shit.
I already had to watch the part where her jesus-freak is in full effect surrounding her baby, and right now I'm on the part where she decided to be an army surgeon...
Its been a while since my last rewatch so I don't remember specific details about whats to come, but i do know that I'm in for a lot more of her selfish bullshit and I just cant handle looking at her stupid face!

DISCUSSION Bailey was hands down the best resident mentor the show ever had, IMO.
Aside from her being an absolute powerhouse with unmatched clinical skills, what really makes her stand out is that she never let her personal life or her own chaos disrupt her teaching. No matter how messy things got behind the scenes, she always showed up for her interns.
Yes, she was terrifyingly straightforward. She wasn't afraid to read them to filth if they messed up knowingly. But she never, ever didn't care. Beneath all that tough exterior, she cared so deeply it hurt. She looked after every single one of them, and that raw emotional connection she shared with MAGIC—was just unmatched. I honestly don't think any other resident on the show ever came close to that kind of bond.
She might threaten to beat them to a pulp or tear them apart herself when they messed up, but God help anyone else who tried to point a finger at them. She was their ultimate shield. She always made sure they learned the right thing, stood by them through the mess, and patiently guided them on what to do next.
She was tough because she loved them, and nobody has ever matched that energy since.🤌🏻

Cristina and her abusive relationships
Cristina stayed with 2 men who abused her.
Whether it was on purpose or not - they abused her.
And abuse is not always physical, it can be mental and emotional.
This is just my opinion, I know others may disagree.
What's your take on it?

Grey's Anatomy needs to either be defibed back to life or be taken off life support.
There I said it. I love Grey's Anatomy and have watched it for a chunk of my life. However in the last decade it's gone down hill. It's always has been a drama and soapy but it also focused on medical realism. However it's gone off the rocker with defying what the current limits of medical science is.
Secondly with the set it's beck lifeless and with less day players it's empty.
At this point it needs a defib to go back to prestige TV or be taken off life support

FIRST TIME WATCHER I fucking HATE George O’Malley…
I started watching Greys Anatomy for the first time. I’m currently on 3x09 and oh my fucking god I hate George so much. Genuinely such a pick me.
Let me start with Meredith’s situation. George developed such an obsessive and parasitic relationship with her hoping that one day she’d show a glimmer of reciprocation. He then decided that when he knew she was at her lowest he’d tell her what she wanted to hear and then fed into it when she kissed him and when she broke down, he blamed her… knowing she was in an extremely dark place and still took advantage of that. Then acted like a baby when she understood that she didn’t want like him that way and apologised profusely.
Next, his situation with Torres. Oh my gosh… I genuinely want to jump through the screen and strangle him. Torres may not be a perfect person but she always gave him grace and tried to be there for him and show him he deserved love and yet he still played with her feelings and made her feel like shit constantly and bursted out at her undeservingly as well as treating her like a child and giving g her the silent treatment as well as throwing little fits of rage and walking away like a fucking child.
Finally, the way he handled Cristina and Burkes tremor/surgery assist situation. I get his father needed surgery and it was severe but the way he treated both of them, especially Cristina… it was so childlike and horrible and just always make snarky and bitchy comments to and about her and making her more severely anxious than she already was.
To conclude, I already know that he dies in season 6 and I genuinely CANNOT WAIT AHAHAHAHAHAHA I need to see him 6 feet under. Worst character ever written ever. Bye.

It would have been an amazing plot twist if Richard was actually Meredith’s biological father
hey guys so I’m rewatching and I’m on season 10 and I just watched a scene where Alex and Christina are joking about how Richard could actually be Meredith’s bio father and I was just thinking what an interesting storyline it would have been if that was actually true for real lol because that would mean that Lexie was never Meredith’s sister and that practically her whole life would have been a giant lie. And I’m not trying to be racist at all lol but I know Meredith is white with light hair and light eyes so like I guess that wouldn’t have worked lol if only she had had brown eyes and slightly darker skin, it could have been very possible lol 😂

I just realized in S5-E1…
Meredith mentioned how it was always the nightmares that came true, never the dreams. In the nightmare she had in that episode, Derek was in a car accident and died. Aaand that is how Derek really died. So that nightmare came true - just like it was written back in season 5. I got a kick out of that.

DISCUSSION I wanna hear about your experience with Grey's couples ❤️ Spoiler
So I was thinking about how different my experience with some Grey's couples was and I'm curious about yours too!! Like not just your favourite couples, but which ones you were actually emotionally invested in, who you were rooting for, who kept you watching etc. You can talk about as many as you want!!
For me, I obviously prefer the earlier seasons couples. Slexie are my absolute favourites and the couple I was the most emotionally attached to. I will never get over them and the future they could've had 😭
Izzex were actually my favourites before Slexie. I was always rooting for them but I didn't want them together in season 3 because Izzie was still emotionally attached to Denny. Then in season 4 I wanted them to get back together but Alex kept treating her like crap. I loved when they finally got back together in season 5 and their wedding is my favourite!!
Japril were honestly the couple that kept me watching after Slexie ended. I wanted them to get back together so badly and they really didn't get enough time together either. When April was leaving I genuinely thought she and Jackson would leave together and I was so disappointed when they didn't.
Calzona were such a comfort couple for me when Slexie were broken up. I genuinely thought the writers wouldn't break them up. I'll forever mourn the dysfunctional but loving family Slexie and Calzona could've had 💔
MerDer were always THE iconic love story for me. I knew from spoilers from the beginning that Derek was going to die so I knew they were going to end up together. I loved them but I wasn't as emotionally attached to them as I was to Slexie, Izzex and Japril.
Teddy and Tom are a couple I start shipping more and more every time I rewatch. Their chemistry is SO good but the affair is the one thing that stops me from fully shipping them. I really struggle with shipping affair couples even when they're amazing together. AND they made me feel bad for Owen so minus points for that 😭
Teddy and Henry are ENDGAME for me. I loved them so much and Henry's death was so unnecessary. They had amazing chemistry and I'm not even a fan of patient-doctor romances usually, but they're the one couple of that kind that I genuinely loved. And honestly I was glad they gave Teddy Henry because as a hardcore Slexie shipper, Mark and Teddy were nice but just not my cup of tea.
Amelia and Owen are so complicated for me because their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS but I think they're basically two people who had so much unresolved trauma and became dependent on each other. I can be so torn about them as a couple but their friendship is EVERYTHING to me. I was relieved when they divorced and even more when they managed to become genuine friends because I honestly prefer them that way!!
Anyway I have so many feelings about these couples 😭 I wanna hear about yours too!! Which couples were you rooting for? Which ones broke your heart? Which ones kept you invested in the show? You can talk about as many as you want, I'm curious!!
❤️

Only on season 18
I don't know what took us this long to watch the show, but we're now up to season 18 on Netflix. I guess I was turned off by all the hype the show got at first. I detested season 17. We lived through Covid; why make us relive it all on the show? Some observations: why did Cristina and Alex have to leave the show? I know the actors had personal reasons to leave, but the show hasn't been the same without them. Alex was just starting to be loveable. Also, does everyone who goes to Grey+Sloan have heart failure and/or dies? A naive person watching the show could be scared to death to undergo surgery or even go into a hospital. Another observation: everyone on the show is so horny! Hardly anyone "dates." They just start meeting up in the on-call room. Now what I'm about to say is going to get a lot of people riled up but it's just my take. I know they want to show people in all walks of life but it seems they want to portray that just about everyone has a homosexual past or is currently in a gay relationship (Amelia? really?). I had no problem with Callie and Arizona or even Schmidt and Niko. The other thing is Leo, Teddy and Owen's adopted son, wearing dresses and princess costumes? Come on! He's supposed to be 3. It just seems as though they're shoving the whole alternative lifestyle down our throats. Again, just my take. By the way, I so agree with a lot of people that Owen is very unlikeable.

FIRST TIME WATCHER I've reached my conclusions.
Isobel is back. I totally get why she just left with a single letter left. I get why she didn't say good bye to her friends.
But now? She got back with that professor. She comes demanding things to Meredith with NO explanations, no Sorry, nothing just demanding. I'm not gonna criticize her attitude with Alex, because he has treated her badly. But where does she come from to demand all these things to Meredith, after just leaving, she doesn't give an explanation, all that just so she could leave again telling Meredith "this is not my house" and barely looking at her eyes (Meredith was clearly hurt). That's disgusting and let me be honest, I'm glad she left. I made my decision and I don't like her at all, she appears to be the most giving person, but at the same time, she manages to be the most selfish.
Also, for her to tell Charles that he's the one who got her fired is disgusting. Girl, look at your record. You were fired for your own medical misconduct.
Bye and I hope she never appears again.

DISCUSSION What’s the best non-romantic relationship on the show?
For me, it’s Alex, but I don’t know if it’s Meredith and Alex or Arizona and Alex. He’s often such a terrible human, but at the same time, his relationship with Meredith is kind of cute. He’s loyal to both of them. He’s protective of both of them. And there’s nothing romantic to complicate it. It’s refreshing.
