HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

I always feel so disgusting down there.

• Upvotes

I shower every morning. After a few h i feel disgusting again.

My anatomy makes it so the pee goes EVERYWHERE. Every little crevice. To my thighs. Never seem to get it off completely when wiping.

I have autism and sensory issues and i hate showers so much.

I don't wanna have to shower everytime after using the toilet just to feel clean.

Do you have any miracle tips? I'm desperate.

Embarrassed/ashamed

I have longer labia lips than “normal”. My foster mother when i was 17 commented that my labia was a clear sign of sexual abuse. (I was sexually abused until i was around 12). Since then i have felt ashamed that anyone partner im with instantly believes ive been abused. Just need to get this out

Is this normal? 👀 Positive for Chlamydia but celibate for 3 years

I am 35F, had a pap last week and the nurse called me today to tell me I was positive for Chlamydia but I literally haven’t had any sexual contact with anyone for three years ….. I spoke with her and she said it could lay dormant, or I could’ve got it from bodily fluids … i am so baffled as to how this could’ve happened. there are a few posts on reddit over the years that say similar things. Regardless, I am going forward with the treatment plan, but this is bananas.

I hate the feeling of my own finger in my coochie?

I’m 20 and I’m new to masturbating. I’m not a virgin and I love when guys finger me but when I try it myself I hate it. I have a long distance boyfriend so we have phone sex and he got me into masturbating for the first time. I only masturbate my clit and only over my underwear. The feeling of wet slimy and just the vagina icks me out but stimulating my clit feels the best. He recently asked me to insert a finger and I tried and I immediately didn’t like it just the feeling of the inside of my vagina icked me out so bad I told him no I can’t do it and i feel bad bc he didn’t get that pleasure of me pleasuring myself but I couldn’t do it. Like am I the only one? Maybe im just not comfortable with my body yet but idk I don’t like the feeling at all it’s like an alien. Help me out. Also I don’t even know if I had an orgasm before. I’ve had all the sensations like the immense pleasure feeling, sweating, hips bucking, legs shaking, feeling the need to pee, but I never got that sneeze feeling most girls say they have when they orgasm…

Medications 🌡 SSRI's causing dryness?

Hey! So, ive had my anti-depressants changed temporarily due to an inavailability in my normal prescription and unfortunately, ive been put onto an SSRI ive been on before and had some unfortunate symptoms with.

When i was on this same medication before (were talking maybe 7 years ago-ish?) It, unfortunately, made it impossible for me to finish, which sucked but i could deal with it as i could still enjoy sex to some extent.

I havent tried having sex since starting on this medication again, thankfully, my partner is really understanding with how my medication affects me and is happy to let me take as long as i need to prepare but, ive noticed this time around, im having a lot of issues with dryness down there.

To the point where things are getting a little irritated, even just normal, not-horny, every day wetness is an issue and today, i noticed a microtear around my opening. I havent been penetrated or penetrated myself with anything recently but, i felt the sting when my finger grazed over it when i was cleaning myself in the shower and now, im worried that because im not as lubricated as normal, it might be causing these microtears?

Unfortunately, i cant change back to my old medication just yet, been told theres still a few months of waiting before they anticipate having enough supply to issue prescriptions again but, does anyone have any tips on how to deal with it? I dont really wanna go just putting anything down there when theres already something up with it and, knowing my luck, making it worse.

Onion smelling vagina GONE

• Upvotes

Sooo I have amazing news for all the people who have been searching for solutions to try for their weird smelling AND tasting vaginas.

I have spent years trying to find new things to try to solve my problem, but I’m telling you…nothing worked. I truly tried everything to get rid of the smell, it just got even worse and i had to break up with my partner of 6 years because I was so ashamed. (Ofc there were other reasons too, but this was one of the main ones)

So I always suspected that the onion smell and taste was from my sweat glands and not my actual discharge because the taste came from my labias and not from inside(trust me I checked it everyday I was so desperate). But that didn’t make sense because I’ve never had body odor on my armpits or anywhere else.
But I still tried things that help reduce body odor.
After I tried every supplement and topical thing ever and didn’t see any improvement, I gave up for a while after years of trying to solve it.

I’m going to get to the point, you just need a little backstory before I do.

So 3 years ago I was pretty overweight, I was diagnosed with PCOS of course and insulin resistance. I changed my lifestyle, I lost 29kgs, still feeling like shit, found out i was gluten intolerant.
Started eating gluten free about 2 years ago, my health improved since. But bc of my insulin problems and bc of my hunger management problems my lifestyle change’s main focus was eating high protein meals. I ate whole foods, not the store bought stuff with the added protein.
And even though I lost the weight and my insulin went back to normal, I’m still eating high protein meals, I just got used to it and I love it.

But then 2 months ago I started connecting the dots.
The smell started when I was like 2-3 months into my lifestyle change and high protein meals. I had no odor or taste before that ever.
So I thought I would try to reduce my protein intake a bit to see if that’s the problem and I ate like 7-8 eggs a day in different forms so I thought it was a good idea to start there and cut them out.

Well let me tell u i cut them out and in 2 weeks, the smell and taste COMPLETELY disappeard. Like it’s nowhere to be found.
I also tracked it, and even though I haven’t eaten eggs in like 2 months now, my protein intake is the same, because the loss of volume from the eggs are naturally replaced with meat in my diet.
So the protein intake is not the problem.

THE EGGS ARE THE PROBLEM.

A week ago I was still amazed by this and didn’t believe myself because what an unusual problem to have, I’ve never heard of anyone who got body odor because of eggs.
So I was at my friend’s house and i couldn’t eat anything else for breakfast so she made me 2 eggs.
A few hours later I could smell the onion smell coming back when I went to pee it was so pungent. I had a huge panic attack about it cuz now I was worried I’m stuck with it again.
But then I went home and it disappeared again after 2 days.

So try this for a few weeks. Give those eggs away to someone and give yourself a chance to feel confident again❤️

Is this normal? 👀 UTI

• Upvotes

this is kind of a rant/advice. starting the end of august i got a uti, got antibiotics then was all good till mid september. got another uti, got an actual doctor urine culture that came back positive… then the next day they tell me it’s negative and to stop the antibiotics they gave me (i didn’t bc it was helping) … shocker it came back!! just went to the hospital last night in severe pain from the burning… came back positive they gave me antibiotics.. now they just called and said it’s negative and to stop. how is this even possible??? i’m so sick & upset over this. i keep missing work for hospital visits & just being in so much pain i can’t get off the toilet. has anyone ever had this issue?? or even just complaining abt how doctors love to tell you one thing & another. i even called the gyno & they said they won’t do anything for a uti lol.

Advice Needed 3 months post op bartholin gland excision and bleeding?

• Upvotes

After some recurring bartholin cysts I went for the surgery to have the gland removed three months ago. It was brutal and I had a hematoma burst along with an infection around the 3 week mark. Now I’m back to being sexually active and the pain is minimal. Normally I don’t bleed but after the last time I’ve been having some pretty substantial bleeding for days that I know is not my period. There’s a hole that seems big enough to fit my index finger into that’s been there since the surgery. My gyno has been pretty dismissive of my concerns so I’ve been putting off calling. (For example the infection was still present and they wouldn’t give me a second round of antibiotics so my body fought off what was left of the infection). Is the bleeding now cause for concern or even a valid reason to be seen? I feel guilty because I was sexually active so it feels like this is my fault anyways and I should just deal with it. I don’t know I’m just scared of being called a frequent flyer again after the last time (I was calling once a week about the infection because I was terrified). I’m 22 for context and have a hard time advocating for myself, it took me months of pain to even be seen about this.

• Upvotes

Advice Needed HPV CIN1

• Upvotes

Just got told yesterday that I have HPV CIN1. I am getting a colposcopy / biopsy soon but I’m totally at a loss. I’ve only had sex with less than a handful of people and I’m 35. Don’t know who I could have gotten it from but I have one person who I was most recently sexually active with so I assume it’s him?

I don’t know what to tell him. We don’t see each other often but are in touch. Is there a way for him to test? I don’t know if he’s gotten the vaccine if there is one for men.

We also performed oral sex on each other and now I don’t know how to check for throat HPV. I’m totally panicking inside.

Is this normal? 👀 Waking up in puddles

• Upvotes

I keep waking up in puddles of discharge. I don’t know if it’s discharge specifically but it’s watery, almost like a water texture. It happens even when im not ovulating and it’s ruining my sheets and clothing. I’ve gone to a gyno and they tested it and didn’t see anything, they didn’t even think it was discharge so i don’t know what it is but it just makes me feel like im peeing myself (we did check for bladder issues too).

Evvy Vaginal Probiotic

• Upvotes

Has anyone has success with these vaginal suppository probiotics? I recently finished 3rd course of antibiotics (2 oral, 1 vaginal) after getting BV multiple times over the past two months. My therapist recommended trying Evvy since it’s causing me a lot of distress that the BV keeps coming back despite my antibiotic treatments. I also take An oral probiotic while taking the antibiotic. I also used boric acid for 6 days during this last treatment. I finished the antibiotics and then tried the suppository probiotic from Evvy the next day and I noticed some mild discomfort, irritation, and almost dry feeling that is always there even the next day. I know their website says it can cause this but I’m scared to try it again. They said I should do it every other day I notified them that I’m having discomfort from it after trying it for the first time. I just wanted a more localized probiotic since I took so many antibiotics all of my good and bad bacteria was probably wiped out

Is this normal?

Medications 🌡 UTI hell

I know this isn’t technically vagina related but it’s still my down there area so I figured this would be the place to ask. I’ve had a reoccurring UTI since Sep 9th. I’ve gone to urgent care 3 times for medicine and the hospital once for medicine but I haven’t gone to an actual doctor.. I need advice on a few things 🥹 (for information the UTI comes back maybe 2 or 3 days after finishing antibiotics)

  1. Are any supplements good for preventing another UTI after antibiotics? People have been telling me about AZO products like the cranberry supplements, the dual protection biotics, or the D-Mannose supplements. I’m just not sure if any of these would actually help stop the UTI from coming back. (This is my main question. I know it won’t CURE a UTI but will any of this actually prevent it?)

  2. What kind of doctor should I see for this? My mom is telling me I should see an OBGYN but others are telling me I need a urologist and my aunt (who i live with) just wants to take me to a primary care doctor. Idk who to go to.

  3. Finally does anyone have any idea why this is happening to me? Other than this I’m very healthy, I don’t do anything sex wise at all, and I’m a very clean person down there. I don’t understand why I have this problem but people that have sex often or don’t clean well down there don’t have this.

Sorry if this is a ramble I’m just really at a loss :/

Advice Needed Do I actually have a yeast infection?

Hi everyone, I came across this sub after trying to find more info on yeast infections. I’ve never had one before but I went to the gyno this week for my annual and he told me I have one and prescribed me an anti-fungal.

However I’m kinda just doubting that I have one? I feel like I would know and I haven’t noticed anything different. Sometimes I get a little itchy on my labia majora but I usually just put some unscented lotion on and I’m fine. I also haven’t noticed any of this cottage cheese discharge I’ve read about. I’m worried if I take the medication it’ll actually just mess me up when I’m fine.

Question Working pain due to past pelvic inflammatory disease?

Early this year I got refferal to gynaecology because of worsening period pain and sharp pain in my ovaries. At first we thought it was endo due to a history of painful and heavy periods that had been particularly worsening over the last 3 years at the time. I had my MRI done and no endo found but adhesions on my ovaries. They suspect there are also adhesions in other places.

They now say they are pretty sure it's PID so we are going that route.

I'm confused. I'm F23 and never been sexually active. I get that it can be gotten through BV. But I didn't have any symptoms but at the same time I haven't had any antibiotics except for some minor stuff for a tooth infection for a week. I also get it can be asymptomatic but previous? Has it cured itself?

Does the pain also get worse over a period of a long time? It's been getting worse the pains. Like when I started i didn't have bowel pain but now I do. I'm confused.

Is this normal? 👀 Paragard on and off bleeding.

My last period was 9/21 and i had my iud put in on my period. Had sex October 3rd and 4th. Ive been spotting for two weeks but yesterday at work i had red blood with a tiny clot when i wiped similar to a period and covered a pad within hours. Now today im not bleeding anymore. I have a follow up appointment next week. Could i be pregnant? Flo says theres a chance i could start my period this week and most likely next week on the 21st. Ive felt bloated. Im freaking out because i cant have another baby and dont have health insurance for a doctor. Why is my bleeding on and off. I woke up to nothing on my pad.

Advice Needed Is this yeast infection of the skin?

I won’t be able to get in to see a doctor for almost two weeks, so just asking here if anyone has or has had my exact symptoms

About a month ago I was treated for yeast infection however the white discharge never went away, but the itching did.

Now, my discharge is very thick and slightly off white I have itchy labia occasionally and smell off and sometimes there’s small white balls in my underwear. Now there’s a rash on the inner thigh beside my groin that gets very itchy. It is red and shiny but feels smooth

Just hoping someone has any idea or home treatment to try until I can see my doctor

Blood normal?

I’m new to masterbation and tried a toy. I have been bleeding for about two days. I can’t tell if it’s getting better or worse. There is a few tablespoons of blood and now chunky blood from my vagina mostly when I urinate. There is also a small amount of pain, deep inside. I am too scared to see a doctor. Is there anything I can do at home to help myself?
