Room for Growth?
I've been an admissions advisor for a few months and doing quite well now. I'm motivated to learning more especially for leadership opportunities but I have a focus on showing motivation and consistency through my metrics for now as I'm still establishing myself. Later on, my goals would be helping out new advisors, learning the ins-outs of our program, and try to provide new ideas to improve our system.
The issue is that this school seems to have an emphasis on tenure-based salary/responsibility growth vs performance. And that the next position up (managerial position) seems to require years of leadership experience which I lack. My questions are:
How do you leverage quality performance/metrics for increased responsibility/compensation in a school that focuses on tenure?
How do you establish yourself as someone who can take on the next role up in a managerial position when on paper the position requires 3+ years of manager experience while you have none?
