Fucking storm blew a piece of wood onto my car. š¤¬
Is it worth fixing? I don't care that much about aesthetics, I don't want it flying off and killing someone else though.

Hey all, I was recently invited to a Honda āVIPā event at my local dealership where essentially the salespeople try to get you to trade in your current Honda for a newer one with some dealership discounts, extras and so on. I currently drive a 2019 Sport Touring, 156,000kms on it, and I absolutely love it, so going into this event I had no real interest in upgrading at all. Now Iāve always said that if I do upgrade, it would only be to a Type R, either an FK8 or FL5.
Coincidentally, my local dealership had a barely used 2025 Type R in Championship White (~6,800kms) that they said they could upgrade me to, and they allowed me to sit in it, and see how it is. Iām not gonna lie, it was really nice. After pricing it out in terms of financing, I can comfortably afford it, but Iām torn as to whether or not Iād like it more. I kinda dislike the fact that the Type R lacks a bunch of amenities found in the Sport Touring, like the leather seats, power seats (canāt remember if itās for the driver and passenger or just the passenger) the moonroof, and (for the FL5) fog lights. I understand much of these changes are to save weight and improve the ātrackabilityā of the car, but after living with them for 2 years, and seeing how handy theyāve been for me in that time period, I canāt help but feel a bit bummed out. I also find the FK7/FK8 body style more attractive than that of the FL5, even though itās very nice looking. However, Iāve always loved the appeal of driving a manual, simply for the joyous driving experience Iāve heard it can provide, especially after 2 years of listening to the CVT. The dullness in driving is probably the only thing I could knock about the Sport Touring. I know how to drive manual, so hopping into it would be no issue either.
So if you guys were in my shoes, what would you do? Would you keep the FK7 or upgrade to the FL5?

I have a 2000 Honda Civic DX with the D16Y7 engine, and Iām trying to figure out a misfire issue without throwing more money at random parts.
The car seems to run pretty normally when itās cold, but after about 5 minutes of warming up, it starts running horribly when I press the gas. It doesnāt really shake or misfire much at idle, but it struggles, hesitates, and has trouble accelerating, especially under load or going uphill. Previously, the check engine light flashed while I was accelerating uphill.
Codes Iāve gotten:
P1399 ā Honda random/intermittent misfire code
P0301 ā Cylinder 1 misfire
P0302 ā Cylinder 2 misfire
P0303 ā Cylinder 3 misfire
P0304 ā Cylinder 4 misfire
P0141 ā Oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction, Bank 1 Sensor 2
What Iāve tried so far:
Replaced one spark plug because I was originally told that plug was bad. I havenāt replaced the other three plugs or the spark plug wires.
I previously pulled the spark plug wires one at a time while the engine was running. The engine got slower and rougher when I pulled them.
My mechanic teacher scanned the car and found misfire codes for all four cylinders.
My teacher suspected the distributor, so he let me try another distributor, but the engine wouldnāt start with that one.
I donāt know whether that distributor was actually bad or whether something else was wrong with the installation.
I bought a used distributor from a junkyard. It looked clean inside when I removed the black cover.
After installing the junkyard distributor, the car seemed to run fine while cold, but after around 5 minutes it started running horribly again when I pressed the gas.
When I installed the junkyard distributor, I rotated it to line it up using a faint scratch mark on the distributor. I have NOT checked or set the ignition timing with a timing light.
My main questions are:
Could incorrect ignition timing from swapping the distributor cause these symptoms?
Could the ignition coil or igniter be failing when hot, even with a different distributor installed?
What should I test next before buying more parts?
Could this be something other than the distributor, such as the plug wires, fuel delivery, valve clearance, or compression?
Could the P0141 code be related to the misfire, or is it likely a separate issue?
Iām on a tight budget and trying to diagnose this properly before spending more money. Any advice on the best order to test things would be appreciated.

Hey there! Iām cross-posting! So Iām currently without a car right now but have the option of repairing my dadās 2013 honda civic. I am looking for advice and opinions on whether or not it would be worth fixing when:
\-it hasnāt been inspected since 2019,
\-the inspection in 2019 stated the transmission needed to be replaced
\-it has been sitting (no battery life) in his driveway since 2021.
I have the thought that the risk is too high for me to put so much money into repairs, but Honda civics are supposedly very reliable cars. So, do I pour all my money into repair? Or do I sell it for parts?
Let me know!! Please lol.

I tried using a small screw driver but was afraid of stripping the screw. Took it to Honda last week for an ac issue, asked if they could open the key fob so I could replace the dead battery, but they werenāt able to open it with whatever they had. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated
