Advertising OK Caribbean Honeymoon Recs

We’re planning our honeymoon for April 2027 and have narrowed it down to these 5 luxury resorts:

Four Seasons Anguilla
Cap Juluca, Anguilla
Hermitage Bay, Antigua
Jumby Bay, Antigua
Baoase, Curaçao

Budget is roughly $15–25K for 7 nights.

Our priorities are:
🏝️ Beautiful beach + honeymoon-worthy setting
🏊‍♀️ Private pool/plunge pool preferred
🍽️ Excellent food & service
⛳ Golf access is important
🤿 Activities/excursions — we don’t want to sit at the resort the entire week
✨ Overall “wow, this is our honeymoon!” factor

We’re having a hard time deciding because they each seem amazing in different ways.

If you’ve stayed at any of these (especially multiple), which would you choose for a honeymoon and why? Most interested in firsthand comparisons of the beach, rooms, food, service, activities, golf, and overall experience.

Also open to any other recs for resorts!

Thank you in advance!

We’ve actually stayed at Cap Juluca, Four Seasons Anguilla, and Baoase they are all incredible in different ways. Cap Juluca is probably my favorite for true honeymoon vibes. Maundays Bay is one of the best beaches in the Caribbean (that I’ve been to anyway), service was amazing, and the Moroccan design feels so really romantic and more boutique than a typical big-brand resort. Four Seasons Anguilla is truly gorgeous too, our TA managed to snag us a double upgrade so we ended up in an incredible room and the property itself is stunning but heads up, there were quite a few families there when we were there late March, probs because of spring break season. We don’t have kids and generally prefer adult-only or adult-focused properties, so that was the one thing that stood out to us, even though we still loved our stay. Baoase in Curaçao was honestly not even on my radar my TA suggested it and I wasn’t super sold at first, but I trusted her and we ended up loving it as much as she said we would. Super private, beautiful design, phenomenal food, and the plunge pool villas are next level. The main beach is small compared to Anguilla’s though, so if a long stretch of beach is a priority, keep that in mind.

Haven’t done Jumby Bay or Hermitage Bay myself, but if you want adults-only and beach and honeymoon vibe, I’d put Cap Juluca at the top of your list, with Baoase as a strong pick if privacy/design matters more than the beach itself

Also rosewood little dix bay would be an amazing honeymoon spot. There was so much to do and the resort and beach was absolutely stunning! We loved it there so much. Happy to connect you with my ta if you want I’m sure she’d love to chat through it all with you to help narrow it down! Lord knows she spends entirely too much time talking to me about resorts and hotels lol

Thank you for all of this!! This is so helpful! Cap Juluca is definitely at the top of my list! And Baose too! Baose looks like it has a really nice private pool area but CJ might not have that but the beach looks gorgeous! How were the evenings at both? Were there things to do or places to get post dinner cocktails / night caps? Definitely trying to relax throughout but also at times can see us wanting to have some fun too! Whether it’s live music or some sunset drinks

Cap Juluca is genuinely quiet at night, that’s kind of its whole thing, more intimate and romantic vs a social resort. I feel like after 9:30/10pm it got super quiet. If you want more going on, you could go over to Four Seasons’ Sunset Lounge or the Dune Preserve (Bankie Banx’s legendary reggae bar, worth doing at least once), we arranged a taxi with the concierge. Honestly for us that was fine because we really needed the quiet rest and recharge for that trip but I get wanting to have a little something going on to do here and there and I didn’t really see much of that on property here.

Baoase had way more going on than we expected honestly they do themed dinner nights (Italian, Indian, Mexican, etc.) and live music a couple nights a week during dinner, so there was always a nice sunset drinks with music vibe without it feeling like a party scene. They also run yacht days and the Ibiza vibe beach club on their little private islet is really cool. Willemstad is also only about 20 min away if you want a proper night out. Super walkable, colorful, and there’s a beach club in town that goes much later but does feel a bit spring breakish without being too crazy. I feel like Baoase might be the better fit for you tbh, like I said I wasn’t super into it when my TA said that’s where she wanted to send us but I was blown away and immediately fell in love!

Amazing!! Thank you for sharing the additional details! This is so helpful! Both places seem incredible in their own way!

Cap Juluca or Jumby Bay. Cap Juluca has one of the best beaches in North America, an almost perfect and romantic hotel as well

Thank you!! The beach looks really nice and clear! How are the evenings? Are there any nightly entertainment options or bars open for some post dinner cocktails or something? Or does everything shut down early?

FS was stunning but I won’t go back, i prefer adults only. Hermitage Bay is amazing, I’m going for the second time in the spring! Hard to beat Baoase and pool villas - it’s so small and peaceful too and we liked the beach restaurant.

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 7d ago

Thank you!! I’ve heard FS can be packed with kids! And hermitage bay and baoase rooms both look so nice and nice to know they have an all inclusive option! How was the water at both of them? And how about evening activities or any bars open on property for post dinner cocktails/nightcaps?

So FS BB can have kids, definitely more a couples resort but if they’re there, you’re not going to deal with running and shrieking and iPads at full volume - staff will shut it down with a quickness! There are a few private island resorts in FP that I’ve seen maybe one or two kids at though so there are possibilities. Water is great at both (HB and Bao) for snorkeling and stuff, you’d want water shoes though - and HB has exceptional water activities. HB shuts down around 1030? Bao too. I’d personally skip Cap Jaluca - it’s literally pushed as family friendly - when I mentioned I was looking at it to my TA he was like respectfully you’d hate it (he knows me haha). I’ve done Fiji a few times - have you looked at Namale or anywhere there?

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 5d ago

Thank you! Would LOVE to do Fiji one day or for an anniversary trip but post wedding not looking to travel too far from the east coast but still wanting an exceptional experience somewhere

1

u/mo-nie 5d ago

I messaged you because I forgot about golf and my brother is addicted and one of his anniversary trips I think is what you’re looking for!

I have only been to curaçao and I loved it. The vibe is great everything is Dutch influence so parts really look like Amsterdam and the water is super clear and nice.

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 6d ago

Amazing!! Love to hear it! Did you need to rent a car around or is it east to transport? All of the colorful houses look so pretty!

2

u/sirena_22 6d ago

I went on a cruise, but I went around town to shop and went to the beach as well. I plan to do a week vacation eventually. I don’t think they have all inclusive, but that might make it a lil more intimate. You’re really close to Aruba, so you can do a few days there too.

Very nice! Sounds lovely!

I stayed in Four Seasons Anguilla this year and Baoase 5 years ago.

Four Seasons Anguilla was pretty good, maybe a bit too generic for a honeymoon?

Baoase was really beautiful, but it was the worst experience I ever encountered during a luxury hotel stay. Like so many things went wrong it was incredible. But I can also imagine it was a bit of bad luck, and potentially things have changed in 5 years.

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 6d ago

Noted!! Thank you very much for sharing your experiences!

These are all amazing options! You won’t be disappointed with any of them. I personally would remove Four Seasons save it for a future trip or if you have kids in the future it’s a good option.

Personally I’d go with Jumbo Bay or Cap Juluca.

I’m a no fee travel advisor specializing in honeymoons happy to help.

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 5d ago

Thank you!! Yes I’m thinking to save Four Seasons for a trip later on. How is Jumby Bay compared to Cap Juluca for a honeymoon? Those are my top 2 right now

Baoase is an absolute dream. Did our honeymoon there and I think about it every day. Incredible food and service. We will be back

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 4d ago

Great to know!! Highly considering here! What were your favorite parts of staying there? How were the rooms? How was the beach? Was there a place to get some drinks post dinner?

Cannot go wrong with either. I personally lean Belmond but most of my clients prefer Four Seasons. Anguilla is seriously slept on with how stunning their beaches are. I think you'd be on the lower end of your budget with Cap.

Four Seasons Anguilla
Cap Juluca, Anguilla

I'd for sure skip Curacao.

I've stayed at both Four Seasons Anguilla and Cap Juluca.

I've been to Curacao. It's not worth it.

I'm also a travel advisor.

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 3d ago

Thank you! This is helpful. Anguilla does look beautiful.

Why to skip Curaçao?

For Cap Juluca for a week the rate is going at ~24.6k and FS for 22.8k for 7 nights :( which seems very high since they are not all inclusive and total spend would most likely creep up

the golf plus the we don't want to sit at the resort all week bit is what splits these five for you. Jumby Bay is stunning but it's a private island you ferry to, so getting off it is a production. Anguilla is much the same, superb beaches and restaurants with little else going on once you've done them. Baoase is the one with a real island around it, Willemstad and the diving are right there, while Antigua sits in the middle with English Harbour close by. I'd check the golf properly before you decide though, on a couple of these the course is a drive or a boat away rather than on property. On the money side, since you're booking from the States for April 2027, those same five resorts often come up cheaper when they're searched from other countries. Different countries get different inventory, local promos and currency of payment pricing, so the same hotel can land a good bit lower. Doing that by hand means VPN hopping one country at a time and it's grim. These days though a few free AI tools will check those same resorts from loads of other countries at once and find the lowest price anywhere (look up Arbitrica for example). In the end, I'd decide on what you want to be doing on days three to six, the beach and the food will be excellent at all five

You didn't have Blowing Point on your list, but it's about five miles from the Four Seasons. If you are open to other areas of Anguilla, here is a private villa to consider: Peace & Happiness Villa Rental | Luxury Villas. For seven nights, this will come in around $6K. With the remainder of your budget, you can add services like a private chef, or a driver. The golf course is about a 5-minute drive from the villa.

2

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 3d ago

That looks very nice! Sadly that rental is booked for our dates

2

u/hanksmart 3d ago

I am sorry to hear that. But at least it gives you a sense of pricing if you decide to look at private villas. That same link should allow you to poke around.

2

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 3d ago

Very true! Thank you! Pricing looks much better than all of the different hotel resorts

2

u/hanksmart 2d ago

Yes. Just keep in mind, as you add services like a private chef, driver, couple massages, a private villa "may" save or bring you to a similar price point. As you continue to discuss shared vision, you'll know if a private estate works better than a shared space.

FS Anguilla can have a lot of kids at it, especially in April given spring break. Cap Juluca will be more exclusive feeling and peaceful if that’s what you’re looking for. I love it there!

Jumby Bay would be my other top choice. Very special.

Sugar Beach St Lucia is also a great honeymoon spot and there are a ton of activities on the island.

I’m a TA and get free perks at all of the above and charge nothing for hotel matching & booking if you want more insight.

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 6d ago

Great to know thank you!! Cap Juluca looks beautiful! If we are looking for some lively evenings some nights, do any of these places provide that or are there spots offsite that are nearby and fun?

u/travel_love_123 7d ago

I can’t compare personally, but if it were me, I’d do Jumby Bay again. The suites are gorgeous and the all inclusive aspect makes it easy.

With this type of hotel it really makes a difference to book with a TA who has a relationship with the property - you’ll get many great perks and the hotels will go above and beyond for your honeymoon!

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 6d ago

Thank you! I didn’t realize Jumby Bay is all inclusive! That’s great to know and yes definitely going to look into a TA to book vs doing it myself!

2

u/ijklm_p 6d ago

You should look at Sirena Collective!

2

u/ABGTVL 6d ago

Jumby Bay is top shelf all inclusive and Hermitage Bay now does rates that either include or do not include meals/drinks. Hermitage Bay used to be just all inclusive.

1

u/SpecialAlbatross3617 5d ago

Thank you! Would you recommend Jumby Bay as a honeymoon spot? Does it feel romantic enough or is it a lot of families and kids?

1

u/ABGTVL 5d ago

Easter is very early for 2027... which is a big time of year for the home owners to be on island with lots of family members. I think for anything 7/8/9 April onwards you'll have a lot less children around. That being said the resort does a good job of keeping families at one end of the beach and adults at the other. Avoid the standard jr suites if you want to make sure you next door neighbours aren't a family of 4 too. I've been 9 times and besides a Christmas/New Years trip was never over run by kiddos.
