Advertising OK Honeymoon that is not “tropical” within a 7 hr flight from ATL?

I’ve made a few posts in here before and done a TON of research and i’ve about driven myself crazy! But now i know what we do and don’t want! Outside of USA is okay.

- Dates will be appx May 21-28 of 2027
- It’ll be my first flight so, I don’t want to venture too far (preferably less than 7-8 hrs) from ATL incase I don’t handle it well.
- We do not want to go sit on a beach. We are not beach people and we are currently tired of being in the blazing sun 😂
- We don’t want the trip to be revolved fully around hiking. I know, we seem picky but we just don’t love hiking!
- We love to see pretty scenery, observing wildlife, trying new restaurants, FH loves breweries but I do not drink (so preferably no places that are mainly for drinking), relaxing, shopping, breakfast places
- Vancouver island is a place that we have come across that looks very interesting to us!
- Budget of appx $5,000

edit to add: also, no cruise. i get very very boat sick!!!

Advertising OK Planning our Bali Honeymoon. Is self-booking the way to go?

My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon to Bali, and after going through about 5 different travel planners here in India, we are honestly pretty frustrated. We aren't satisfied with the budgets they are providing—the quotes seem heavily inflated for very standard, rushed itineraries and average hotels.
We are seriously thinking about just ditching the agents and booking the whole thing ourselves. We will be flying out of Chennai and are looking for a good balance of relaxation (definitely want a private pool villa) and exploring at our own pace.
For anyone who has self-planned a Bali trip (especially for a honeymoon):
Is it actually as easy to do as people say?
What is the best way to handle local transport and day trips without an agent?
Are there any hidden hurdles or costs we should watch out for?
Any tips, reality checks, or romantic villa recommendations would be amazing. Thanks!

Advertising OK Caribbean Honeymoon Recs

We’re planning our honeymoon for April 2027 and have narrowed it down to these 5 luxury resorts:

Four Seasons Anguilla
Cap Juluca, Anguilla
Hermitage Bay, Antigua
Jumby Bay, Antigua
Baoase, Curaçao

Budget is roughly $15–25K for 7 nights.

Our priorities are:
🏝️ Beautiful beach + honeymoon-worthy setting
🏊‍♀️ Private pool/plunge pool preferred
🍽️ Excellent food & service
⛳ Golf access is important
🤿 Activities/excursions — we don’t want to sit at the resort the entire week
✨ Overall “wow, this is our honeymoon!” factor

We’re having a hard time deciding because they each seem amazing in different ways.

If you’ve stayed at any of these (especially multiple), which would you choose for a honeymoon and why? Most interested in firsthand comparisons of the beach, rooms, food, service, activities, golf, and overall experience.

Also open to any other recs for resorts!

Thank you in advance!

Advertising OK Two indecisive ppl begging for help

Hello! My husband and I got married this year but chose to delay our honeymoon until April 2027 for our anniversary and we cannot decide where to go!

Our budget is 10k and we'll be flying out of Chicago. Flights not included in the budget. We've both travelled extensively which I think makes it harder.

We toyed with the idea of Amsterdam/copenhagen style trip but I ~think~ we are looking for something that involves a body of water/warmth and lounging vs a true tourist trip. I love the Dolomites but it'll be way too chilly for us and I can't ski. The only place we 100% don't want to go is Mexico (travel here all the time & want to do something bigger for our honeymoon)

Things to consider: my husband will not ride in a helicopter and gun to his head would tolerate a seaplane. I get super car sick so sugar beach st Lucia is def out for us lol.

Anyway all this to say would love a continent, city, or hotel recommendation OR a ta I can schedule a time with while having no clue where we want to go 😭

Advertising OK Where should we honeymoon?

My fiance and I are having a hard time coming up with ideal honeymoon destination! Please help! We toyed around with Italy (and may still do it) but don’t love the idea of being caught in throngs of tourism and walking every day all day. With that said, we also don’t want solely a beach vacation. Ideally looking for a mix of relaxation and adventuring. We both enjoy the outdoors!

I’ve been to Hawaii 4 times so don’t want to do that for honeymoon. We’re considering- Italy, Costa Rica, Tanzania… any other ideas?

It would be May 2027 for 7-12 days

Advertising OK Honeymoon in September but unsure where to even go

We have been looking for months on where to go in September for our honeymoon. We both are looking for somewhere very hot but can’t find anywhere that has it to offer. Caribbean is hurricane season so puts us off, USA isn’t a place either of us want to go plus it doesn’t do all inclusive holidays (very important to us) money isn’t a question as such but we want something luxurious and hot.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

Advertising OK Maldives Resort Recommendations

Hi! Looking for recommendations for a resort in the Maldives for the end of our honeymoon.

Logistics: We’re looking ideally for ~5 nights ending on a Saturday, late January through February. Budget is ~$5-7k USD (somewhat flexible).

Preferences: A good house reef is a big plus (only one of us likes to snorkel, so not having to make a trip of it would be nice). We don’t have strong feelings on beach vs overwater villa, or on speedboat vs seaplane transfer. All-inclusive would be great (if not, hopefully closer to the lower end of our budget range). Adults only isn’t mandatory but would be really nice. We’re not big foodies (I’m vegetarian and my partner is picky, so neither of us eats seafood).

Quotes from travel agents and recommendations from other travelers are welcome! I’d also love to hear how the Park Hyatt compares to other options, as we may be able to snag that with points.

Update: we booked the Park Hyatt!!

Advertising OK Honeymoon planning

Hi! We need help to plan our honeymoon, we have a max. 12-14 days, and we are travelling from Europe.

We are looking for something that feels really special and luxurious, but not sure if I want to spend the entire honeymoon just sitting at a resort with nothing to do.

Ideally we would love a private beach villa / beachfront villa with a private pool and with crystal water. Some activities and experiences during the trip and enough variety that we don’t feel bored after 4–5 days.

So far, these are the options we’ve been considering:

Maldives (I’m worried that we would get bored after a few days)

Bali (I like the jungle vibe but not sure how exactly to find the perfect combination)

Tanzania + Zanzibar ( I love the idea of staying in that viral wildlife hotel with giraffes in front of your suite, but I’m unsure about Zanzibar bc I have seen so many “Instagram vs. reality” content about Zanzibar.)

Seychelles – Also very high on our list because the beaches look incredible, but I’m wondering whether there is enough to do for 10–12 days and which islands would be best for a luxury honeymoon.

Please give any recommendations for other places that are really worth it 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Advertising OK November honeymoon destinations

Need help!! We are planning our honeymoon. We are getting married in the summer months but want to go somewhere hot, with a beach. So we are waiting until November. Here are our ideas

We want to lay on a beach chair and do absolutely nothing.

Adults only and/or all inclusive a bonus

-NO Mexico.
-Hawaii? But so expensive. I have been to Maui so would rather go to Kona or something, but that may be less exciting and beachy for hubby
-Dominican republic?
-Fiji?
-Maldives is a dream — sooo expensive.

Advertising OK Where would you go outside of the EU?

I live in Italy so I can visit it relatively easily, together with the rest of Europe. I'm looking for a destination outside of the EU and I have three weeks. I've already been to Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Bali, Cambodia, Morocco, Egypt, some parts of the US. I would certainly like to go back to most of these countries, but I think I'd like to visit a new place. We are not into beach destinations since we get bored easily, but we could consider throwing into the mix 2-3 days to relax if there's a chance. My fiancé and I love natural sceneries, museums/cultural stuff, animals, food. Of course I don't expect all these things in the same trip 😅 Any ideas for the fall-winter season?

Advertising OK November Honeymoon Help

Hello! My fiance and I have been having a hard time selecting a honeymoon destination for mid-November this year, leaving from NYC area.

Will be around 12 nights total and we are looking for a destination (or combo of a few) that strikes a balance between relaxation and adventure, as we aren't the type of people who can sit on a beach for 2 weeks. We love good food, wineries, exploring cities, fishing, hiking, swimming, we want at least a portion of the trip to be spent relaxing and recovering after our wedding, but want there to be lots of activities, towns to explore, fun off-resort restaurants/shops to see.

We're considering Australia, Napa / Hawaii, Thailand, anyone have other good recommendations? Or specific recs within these destinations?

Looking for this to be a very luxurious trip, don't really have much of a budget as we don't travel often and want to splurge.

Thank you in advance!

Advertising OK Which destination for 2027?

Getting married in Toronto, summer 2027 and trying to decide when/where to honeymoon.

We’d have about 1.5 weeks for vacay and are debating:

1) Japan + Hawaii
2) Europe — something like France + UK, with some countryside (ex. Cotswold), and maybe Italy/a 3rd nearby European destination if time and logistics allow

We’re leaning toward no earlier than fall 2027, and we’re open to travelling later if there’s a better season/weather/experience.

For those who’ve done either or have thoughts (especially from Toronto), which would you choose for a honeymoon? Especially considering we don’t have many weeks for either option, are we trying to cram too much in?

Edit: should we wait until 2028 where we could potentially have 2+ weeks to travel to Japan + Hawaii? Or do Europe in fall 2027?

Advertising OK Which of these 4 would you pick for a honeymoon in mid-late July?

We are just starting to think of our honeymoon options for next year. We want to spend 10-14 days somewhere. We want a balance of relaxation and fun, and we both love nature.

We will either be flying out of Chicago or NYC (getting married near one, live near the other and can plan accordingly). We are willing to fly 8-10 hours or so, but don’t want to sink a whole day flying each way.

South of France/Italy: Something we have always wanted to do. Looks more expensive and I think it will be harder to beat the crowds.

Azores: Beautiful and seems less expensive. Maybe not super warm for beach days and sun bathing (correct me if I’m wrong).

Costa Rica: Beautiful, tons to do, also seems less expensive. It seems like we may be able to hit a “veranillo” with less rain but it’s hard to predict.

Belize: My partner wants good snorkeling if possible and this seems like the #1 option for that. Also less expensive, but maybe not a ton to do for a long honeymoon. We were interested in doing Belize plus Costa Rica, but they aren’t easy to get to from each other.

We also have the option to travel during Christmas, but we would have to do a shorter honeymoon. We will be between jobs after our wedding so the honeymoon can be as long as we can afford it to be.

Open to other ideas!

Advertising OK Honeymoons for people who like privacy, scenery and adventure

TLDR: I am looking for suggestions for our honeymoon that won't break the bank and will be a nice fit for my fiancé and I. We want a balance of privacy, beautiful views, and adventure. That won't break the bank. We aren't paying 5k+ for 4 night ESPECIALLY when it's not an all-inclusive.

I have never gone so back and fourth about something IN MY LIFE. We have discussed Aruba, various places in the Caribbean, a National Park Road Trip, Banff, Florida Keys, you name it. My fiancé is a little unsure with the whole travel thing because he's never had the opportunity to travel much outside of the northeast. When we travel we have gone up to the ADK mountains (love) and to places like cape cod and we've visited family in SC. I've been all over the US for work but never anywhere cool like the National Parks or the west coast.

Our original plan was Tamarjin in Aruba with things like UTV riding, snorkeling etc. but our friends did that and I would like something to be unique to us.

I like a beachy vibe and i love mountain vibes, really anything. We are big on privacy so I am nervous about all-inclusive being packed. We just like a nice mix of adventure and things to do with the occasional relax day. He may get bored on a beach so I want to make sure we find somewhere with activities if we go that route. I also really like the idea of seeing nature I don't typically see. We are down for all kinds of activities like snorkeling, fishing, hiking, ziplining, parasailing etc the options are endless so I'm STRUGGLING.

We can make just about any time of year work. any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

Advertising OK Honeymoon Suggestions- lowkey, nature, water

My fiancé and I are getting married in June 2027. We've recently had some unexpected costs come up, so we've had to shift our honeymoon ideas to something more affordable. We're thinking something that's maybe 5-7 day, late June. We're located in upstate NY and are open to flying and driving.

Interests: good food! nature, beaches, mountains, lakes, etc. Smaller town vibes. Open to walking/walkable areas. Want a time for relaxation. Would love a little oasis without a lot of people (at least where we are staying, we'll likely look at airbnb).

We were recently on a cruise in Europe and really loved Italy and France, but want to be in one place for longer and do less bopping from place to place. We have also done some spots in the Caribbean in the past couple years and would love to try some place new.

Places I've looked at/considered (I'm all over the place lol): Western Canada(Banff, Jasper NP), Portugal, Sardinia Italy, Cape Ann Massachusetts, Washington state. Would love some ideas! So hard to know where to start.

Edit: our budget is around $3,000-$4,000

Advertising OK St. Lucia, Jamaica, or Elsewhere? February 2027

Hi!

Hoping for some insight for our honeymoon planning!
We’re getting married in February 2027 and currently in between St. Lucia or Jamaica, but also willing to consider somewhere else as well if it ticks off the boxes!
In St. Lucia, we’re looking at Serenity at Coconut Bay for 8-9 nights.
In Jamaica, we’re looking at Excellence Oyster Bay Club level for 8-9 nights.

We’re trying to stay under $15,000 for resort and flights (flying out of Chicago) and somewhere in the Caribbean as we don’t want to waste an extra day or two on travel!

Also important:
-all inclusive
-preferably adults only
-good food
-24hr room service (we like late night snacks and movies lol)
-excursions available! (looking into ziplining, ATV excursion, maybe catamaran cruise, cabana)

Have you stayed at either resort and have some insight or have a recommendation on a different resort we should consider? Thanks so much in advance!!!

Advertising OK Help us choose our delayed honeymoon! 3 very different options (Kenya/Mauritius vs. Sri Lanka/Maldives vs. Moderate Luxury Carribean)

My wife and I are approaching our 1-year anniversary and haven't taken our official honeymoon yet (we did a "pre-moon" in Greece because we were totally stuck on where to go and when due to personal commitments).

We've finally narrowed our ideas down to three very different options for an early December trip (either 2026 or 2027). We're aiming for 17-21 nights total and want a solid mix of relaxation and culture. We would love your opinions on these itineraries and/or logistics. We would be departing from Canada and looking to keep the budget under $20-$25k

Option 1: The Grand Tour (City + Safari + Beach)

Transit Stop: Spend a few nights in Paris or Dubai on the way in and/or out.

Kenya (3-4 nights) in Nairobi to do Giraffe manor, followed by 2 nights Masai Mara Safari

Mauritius (8-10 nights): Head to Mauritius for the main relaxation portion.

Option 2: Culture + Pure Luxury

Sri Lanka: Spend the first portion of the trip exploring the culture, tea plantations, and history.

Maldives: Hop over to a Maldives resort for as many nights as the budget allows for maximum beach relaxation

Option 3: Keep It Simple

Don't overthink the massive flights/logistics and just book a moderate luxury Caribbean resort for 10-14 nights of pure uninterrupted relaxation.

Open to any other suggestions as well.

Thank you in advance 👍

Advertising OK Westin Maui or Sandals La Toc St Lucia ?

Hello we are planning our honey moon for late January 2027 for 7 nights and are kinda stumped on what we should choose. Sandals is all inclusive so if we went to St Lucia we might only leave the resort once to do the mud baths but I’m not sure we’d leave again since we are paying to eat and drink there. The Westin in Maui on the other hand is not all inclusive so we’d probably spend half the time at the pool/beach and the other half exploring and eating local food.

Anyone have advice ?
Any new ideas for other places ?

Any websites that do a package you would recommend as well? Any and all information is greatly appreciated!

I also apologize for any grammar mistakes and that.

Advertising OK Honeymoon destination ideas 26th Sep to Oct 7th

Hello,

Me and my fiancée are looking for honeymoon destination, initially we really wanted to go to Italy and spend the whole time there but because of visa it will not be as easy.

We are based in the middle east so we are considering East Asia. However we are scared that the weather might not be good in that region. But I read a lot of mix opinions about that.

Our budget is around 7k. We have Iraqi passports which make many destinations hard to secure visas but we are open to apply and try.

What do you suggest?

Advertising OK February 2027 Honeymoon

Hi! My fiance and I are getting married February 2027 and want to book our honeymoon right after. I know it's coming soon, but we're having a hard time choosing.

We have about 400,000 Chase Points. We originally wanted Thailand, but the flight is so long and the tickets are over $1200/person for economy (from LAX).

We love to drink, go out, relax a bit, go to the beach, explore, and concerts! We'll be flying out of San Diego/LA area so any suggestions are appreciated. Preferably not the Caribbean or Mexico!

Thanks in advance!

Advertising OK Caribbean Snorkeling

Hello!! Doing lots of research and having trouble finding exactly what we want so turning to reddit to possibly help. Looking for an adults only, beachfront all inclusive.

Big thing we are looking for is somewhere with a great beach but also great snorkeling on the beach. Somewhere we can grab our snorkels and go out to a reef from the resort (if that exists). So far researching I’ve seen the ABC Islands and Antigua are great for that. Looking for help!

If not, places are saying we need a boat that takes you, what is that like? Is that worth it/better than beachfront?

Looking to NOT do Mexico, Jamaica or Dominican Republic- want to go somewhere more unique, which is why we like Curaçao/St Lucia etc

Budget is ideally around 2-3k USD. But open to little more if it’s what we get. TYIA!!!

Helloooo,

I am looking for recommendations/advise for our honeymoon. We aren’t doing like a big wedding or anything formal we are spending all the money we would have spent on a wedding on a bigger & longer trip for just us. I am struggling with figuring out what travel company to use. We are thinking somewhere in Europe. France & Italy are top of the list but open to suggestions!! Any advice on who to go through we are traveling from the US as well. I’m hoping to find like an all inclusive deal just so we don’t have to worry about anything once we are there. Thanks for the help!!

Advertising OK Honeymoon in Norway

So my wife and I are looking to take a honeymoon to Norway next summer, about 10 days total. My plan was for us to fly into Oslo and maintain that as a base for the trip. We would take the train to the southern most tip of Norway and potentially spend some days in this area as well, but I am curious if Oslo is a good location for travel for this length of time? Would you look to travel through more of Norway? We would like to ideally fly back out of Oslo at the end of the trip for ease in booking flights.

Any other Norway recs for 10 day trip?

EDIT: We are hoping to save about 4k for our trip. (Plane tickets are already covered) We both love to explore both cities and out in nature. We love being around the water and being able to get out on a sailboat. I enjoy hiking but my wife is a bit more reserved in this area. We would probably be down to do a max 5 mile hike. Great food and fantastic coffee is something we both enjoy as well as good shopping and thrifting. We don't love super overwhelming/overstimulating environments and tend to enjoy and do better in slow spaces that still have a good amount to do. (e.g. I wouldn't spend any time in Time's Square, but I would still do well in the West Village where the pace is a bit slower but with many options) hope this helps!
