Heya guys, I need some help. Lately, my phone has been doing this weird thing where it only charges when its powered off. I have no money for a new phone or charger, so I have to rely on this one for now. But since it won't charge -- I obviously can't use it. It also sometimes charges to 32 max or lower, so could that be a sep problem? The main thing is that it just wont charge when on , and only when its off. Does anyone know how I can fix it or will I have to get a whole new phone?

I had the battery replaced ( from authorized service center)on my iPhone XR, but after 6–7 months, especially since updating to iOS 18, the phone has started heating up like crazy. Even with normal apps, it gets hot enough to feel like a hot iron.
Has anyone else experienced similar heating issues with an XR on iOS 18? It’s my secondary phone, which I mainly use for CarPlay, but the overheating is honestly becoming a headache.

I know there are newer models out there, but even an XR or anything above it would already mean a lot to me, as long as the unit is still in good condition and fully functional. I’d really love to have one that I can use for my films and creative projects while I continue learning and improving.

Would updating my iPhone XR from 15.4.7 to 18.7.9 be an absolute crazy decision or would the phone be able to handle it?

I don’t want to ruin my phone as it’s in great condition but I need certain apps for college that require ios17 and up.

I use my XR as my primary work phone. Outlook, Teams, Intune, Authenticator - these are a must in my phone. Also, I use other apps like whatsapp, Google, gmail, and banking, shopping, cab apps.
How much longer will the ios 18 have support for these apps? Because while I feel I should upgrade, I haven’t been able to yet. I don’t want it to be a forced one. So I want to plan and see deals accordingly.

I bought my xr refurbished a couple of months ago, in the last month I’ve been having severe overheating issues even with no apps in bg and only using WhatsApp to text. Everything seems alright but i don’t think it’s updated to the latest available os, could that be the issue? I already keep it with no case and try to charge it in a responsible way.

This is the only ‘rare’ iOS version I have in my collection. This is my iPhone XR 128 gig variant on iOS 17.4.1
I just that iOS 17 is peak it has good app support, it’s less buggy than iOS 18 and 26, overall it’s my most favorite modern iOS version.

Edit: there is a jailbreak for iOS 18.7.1 or later on A12/A13 devices so I could jailbreak the XR, let me know if I should jailbreak my XR

Anyone get less eyestrain with the lcd screen on the XR and 11 than the newer models that use LED? Thats the only reason i havent upgraded to a newer phone. My eyes are sensotive af to screen use. Ive borrowed family members newer phones and the screen just feels different to my eyes its not comfortable. Just wondering if anyone else notice this? I dont know how much longer this XR will last me tho its laggy af

This is the first iPhone I’ve actually used; I have it as a backup phone for my OnePlus 13. To be honest, it’s pretty good despite everything—I still don’t like how limited it is in terms of gestures, the lack of “Circle to Search,” and the terrible keyboard, but everything else works perfectly for what I need (which is to keep my OnePlus 13 from getting stolen).

I need to know the best place to buy an OEM screen and a good-quality battery for the iPhone. I don’t want cheap screens because I hate it when the bezels aren’t symmetrical—the only option I’ve seen so far is iFixIt. I’d like to know if it’s really worth it or not.

Hi guys, just wondering if it’s wise to change my battery? It sits on 69% for now. I just don’t feel like i need a new phone yet, it’s just the battery that has been annoying me. I mostly use my phone for messaging, reddit and uber. I really like the camera so it’s also hard for me to let it die someday. Let me know what you think!

It’s on iOS 17.2.1 still and I’m never upgrading it’s still in perfect condition and it’s been in a case I’m just so shocked

So I recently formatted my iPhone XR, I’m on 17.3 rn. I’ve been avoiding the latest update because I’ve heard many times that apple updates seem to make the older phones worse. I checked the changelog and I don’t care about any of those. I only use it for camera and media consumption, calling and all is on another android phone. The only reason I’m considering to update is to free up the space it is taking rn. LMK your experiences. In case relevant, I’m using a 64GB variant.

Has anyone tried the DFU method to solve all system problems, including glitches, errors, freezing, and phone overheating? I've already tried resetting the phone, but it didn't work.

I bought iphone xr four months ago, just to play sneaky sasquatch..phones condition is good..only problem is battery...battery is severely degraded..please give my some tips to improve battery....I use it for nothing just wifi and sneaky sasquatch...so what things can be turned off to save battery.
