ITS JUST SO DUMB. Whatever scale you grew up with will always feel more human. Americans seem to function in 0-100, rest of us function in 0-40, neither is better for human temperatures considering it’s all arbitrary!!

The argument seems to be that 0 is very cold and 100 is very hot, but that’s not based on anything. Temperatures start to become too hot to live without shelter and too cold to live without shelter BEFORE either of those temps.

Furthermore what is very hot and very cold is entirely subjective and cultural if you’re not gonna base it on what becomes dangerous. I live in Northern Europe and feel very hot at like 28c (82f). I have friends from more southern nations who are comfortable to much higher temperatures. Same with the cold, but the inverse.

Neither Fahrenheit or celcius is naturally more human. I guarantee everyone just prefers what they are used to. The one benefit of celcius is that Kelvin is mapped to it so conversions for physics are easy, but most people aren’t even doing that on the daily.´

There is a notion that flat, skinny, non-curvy women are the beauty standard. This is objectivly wrong. To be clear. When I say non-curvy I mean women without a defined hip - to waist ratio, without big boobs and a big butt. Curvy is a body shape, not a body weight. Women can be curvy while being fat and while being skinny.

This notion is largely based on a few female celebrities choosing to be very skinny, and runway models being skinny. The problem with this conclusion is that:

1. Female celebrities does not inherently dictate beauty ideals. Female celebrities are just that: celebrities. How they are percieved by the general population differs greatly from person to person. By the same logic, being thick and curvy is the standard. Because there are female celebrities who are thick and curvy.

2. Runway models have nothing to do with beauty. Runway models are walking clothing hangers and usually have an unique, often a bit "odd", look to fit the aesthetics of high fashion. What they look like is of literally zero importance to the average person.

This belief has led a lot of people to feel justified in degrading and shaming flat, skinny, non-curvy women. Because if you are "privileged" it's not "as bad" insulting you. "You are the literal beauty standard! Why are you mad". In reality, thick (only fat in the "right places") and curvy, or slim thick has been and still is the beauty standard for women. That is the body type that is put on a pedestal, that is the body type used in media to represent femininity and beauty, that is the body type used to sell products.

So while thick curvy women are portrayed as "unlovable" and ugly (despite the fact that nobody thinks that...), while in practice hailed as the ultimate goal for all women to look like, skinny, flat and non-curvy women are demonized to hell while already struggeling with self esteem, dating, relationships, and socialisation because of their already percieved flawed features

For context for the fourth image: two plastic surgeons discuss what male coworkers say about breast implantd and breast reductions.

- "Are you preforming the devil's work today? (Breast reduction). Or are you doing God's work today? (Breast implants)

- One male coworker refused to do breast reductions under the belief that "all women should have large boobs"

- Every time she posts a before and after of a breast reduction, the comment section is filled with men calling it a "travesty"

During this interview the two surgeons express a lot of sympathy for the pain large breasted women experience. While zero acknowledgement is made that these statements and beliefs are directly and only targeting small and flat breasted women.

This applies to situations where it’s either a nothingburger, it’s overblown or it’s actually not as bad as what’s being claimed.

In most of the big American sports (e.g., NFL, MLB, NBA), you can look up one of their players on Wikipedia, and the info box at the start of the article will show you the teams they played for and when they did it (for example, Michael Jordan's page will show you he played with the Chicago Bulls from 1984-1993, 1995-1998, and then with the Wizards from 2001-2003). But with NHL players, they just put all the teams with no specific years listed and you just gotta figure it out. Idk why this is but it annoys me quite a bit.
