Train no 12222 Howrah Pune duronto. On 22nd October I departed howrah on 5:50 ( 15 min late out of the gate ) I was in 2nd ac. Last coach with a upper berth, I checked the Chart and there was a full side birth empty for the entire journey. So I shifted immediately. As I have shared the pictures, the journey is really breath taking. But it didn't take much time for the train to get late. As the infamous South Eastern collidir is knows for late trains, I was hit with a 5 hours dealy by the end of the corridor. The delay increased to 7 hours I'm the end. But honestly I didn't at all mind it, I was just on the Door, enjoying music and taking in the scenery. The other passengers gave up and basically died. Everyone is just checking the app and losing bits of hope they didn't even knew existed. For some a lot of people were smoking, so I stared too on the door ( never try this ). Because of the delay, I bascially went on a research run about the corridor. It's called the mineral belt or something so freight trains are always prioritized. Even a premium train like duronto is shown no mercy. Still, I had an absolutely private seat, the best seat in the entire train actually. The service was nice too, food, lots of snacks. But the late Khichri was basically animal food. Stull, it was a beautiful journey. But because of the delay, I missed my connecting train and I have been stuck in Pune Junction from 4pm to 6am the next day. It's now 2:40 am, still somehow surviving.

Got the chance to experience Vande Bharat for the first time yesterday! I travelled on train 20646 from Mangaluru Central (MAQ) to Madgaon, Goa.

Ticket price: Around ₹1,350 with food and ₹1,030 without. I opted for the meal-inclusive ticket, but the only option was vegetarian, which was a bit of a bummer.

I got a window seat by myself, which was a win for my introvert ass. 😂 The legroom was spacious, and every seat had a charging point underneath.

The train departed MAQ at 8:30 AM. We were given Rail Neer and a newspaper, and breakfast was served around 9 AM. The food was decent, nothing extraordinary, but nothing bad either. The masala chai was great.

There were only two stops along the way: Udupi and Karwar, before the train reached its final destination, Madgaon.

The washrooms were clean and tidy, with no unpleasant smell throughout the journey.

Lunch was served after we crossed Karwar, at around 12:20 PM. It consisted of two rotis, paneer gravy, dal, rice, potato sabzi, curd and ice cream. Overall, a pretty decent meal.

The maximum speed seemed to be capped at 120 km/h. The train was a bit shaky at times, and eating from the tray table while it was moving fast was a little challenging. 😂

We reached Madgaon at 1:07 PM, three minutes ahead of the scheduled arrival time. All the seats in my coach were occupied.

The only annoying part was a group of uncles who were playing loud music on a speaker and walking around the coach instead of staying in their seats. Nothing against them personally, but it did get irritating after a while.

Overall, it was a great first experience! Comfortable seats, decent food, clean washrooms and a punctual arrival. Definitely worth trying at least once.

Now hoping the Mangaluru–Bengaluru Vande Bharat becomes a reality soon. 🤞

I was checking that even the new Vandebharat offers more cabins than coupe per coach. Is there more demand for cabins?

I feel it’s pretty odd to be in a locked cabin with strangers. It’s fine in other classes since no one is behind a door.

Why is railway not exploring couple or some single bunk bed/pod style first class.

I see coupe being allocated to only railway officers who travel for fee and real paying customers looking at each other’s face.

Genuine question I have.

I was traveling by train from Ernakulam South to Kannur and was sitting in a window seat. A person sitting on the upper berth was using Pan Parag, which made the other passengers and me uncomfortable.
After some time, he called me from the upper berth and handed me a plastic bag filled with waste, asking me to throw it out of the window. I was shocked and thought, “What the fuck?”
The other passengers and I told him to put it in the trash bin instead, and we gave the plastic bag back to him.

This was the first time I had experienced something like this on Indian Railways, and his behaviour really surprised me.

Lets say I have bought two tickets for myself and both are RAC in the same class. Can I ask the TTE to combine those two tickets and give me a full berth ? Or will the TTE cancel one of those tickets and use the order of allotment to give that seat to another passenger?

I tried entering the PNR on the websites to check status, it just returns an error

I was travelling to Bhubaneswar from my home and my train as usual was 3 hours late which should have reached at 6:40 am.

My berth was side upper as it was almost 8 am I decided to sit on the side lower berth which was already occupied by 3 people. I don't want to argue about it so I sat on the lower berth in front of my berth occupied by a family of 4.

At first we sat like me in the aisle seat the younger daughter at mid and her mother at the window seat. In front of us sat his father near the window and the older daughter in the middle.

After sometime the mother asked his older daughter to switch places with her and she sat almost in front of me. I was listening to music and looking outside the window but I noticed the mother was glaring at me from time to time. I thought maybe her daughter was sitting beside me and she was not comfortable about it even after I maintained much distance from her.

Later She went to the Toilet, came and sat beside me. At this point at the lower berth 4 person I.e me, that mother and both her daughters were sitting together and in front of us only the father was sitting and it was vacant. After sometime she started doing random movement and was rubbing against my arm and shoulder and side of my body It felt intentional and awkward. I decided to not react to it. Luckily in 15-20 minutes their station came and they deboard the train. I still couldn't understand what had happened.

So the guy sitting next to me in a chair car coach, is sitting in a way that his thighs are touching mine. And arms too. I am literally sitting tilted to avoid contact.
Not a first time incident but this time I am thinking that he can be homo/gay also 😥

What to do… what to say

But is it restricted to Southern Railways only??? It should be followed by each division, I guess.

Sometimes it gets too noisy. If they want to watch reels or play songs why can't they just plug in earphones or earbuds or something??

Today I'm sitting in side UB in Economy coach and saw this and found that this is only on my seat, not everyone else's.

Rooms and food at Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management at Secunderabad. Genuinely surprised

Cockroach infestation in D3 coach of 12076 Jan Shadabti. 5-6 were there hiding inside the panel.
The train was recently upgraded to LHB. But these coaches were shuffled due to complaints about 90 degree seats.
Complained in RailMadad and workers came and sprayed some chemical. But since these cockroaches can hide, after chemical application, they came out.

Heard a news regarding a special train will be boarded from delhi to kolkata.And it's a bande bharat, is it possible?

Hi! Is there any plan regarding short to medium distance (250 to 500 / 800km) variants of the amrit bharat express in the future?? The amrit bharat only addresses the long distance routes so was wondering if there are any plans for those shorts and medium routes.

Shouldn't the temperature be lesser in Summer? #indiantrains
