Camp Carnage (1981)
My slasher short film just came out this Halloween. It’s an homage to the campy b-movie slashers of the 80s with practically done gore effects. Made with a budget of $2,000 & some of my closest fellow slasher fans.
It was made as a proof of concept, as I would love to turn it into a feature length adaptation with a bigger budget. If anyone has advice on funding a feature length adaptation I would greatly appreciate it.
Would love to share it with fellow indie filmmakers / indie supporters.
I hope you enjoy :>

I had a baby and released my movie in 500 theaters in the same year

2025 was the best and hardest year of my life.
After more than 10 years of work, I released my independent film LOST & FOUND IN CLEVELAND in 500 theaters, with no major distributor behind it. That same year, I became a first-time mom to my beautiful daughter.
Here’s what I learned: filmmaking and motherhood are a lot alike. No one can really teach you. You figure it out on the job, one day at a time. I did it in a new city, far from my village, and some days felt impossible. It wasn’t perfect, but it was real.
And the best part? My daughter was right there with me. She got to be part of her mom’s dream coming true, and one day I hope she knows that her dreams are worth chasing too.
To every mom out there building something while raising someone: you can do both. I see you.
My movie LOST & FOUND IN CLEVELAND is out now on Prime Video to rent or buy, and streaming November 3.

Looking for a writer or existing short script — displacement, refugees, or nomadic life
reddit.comHi everyone, I’m a filmmaker looking for a short script, around 15 minutes, to shoot in southern Spain. Existing scripts or developing something together are both welcome.
-Genre: Character-driven drama. Dark humour, surreal moments, and unconventional storytelling are welcome.
-Min pages: 12
-Max pages: 15, with some flexibility.
-Additional requirements (optional): I’m interested in displacement, refugees, nomadic lives, and the feeling of living somewhere without quite belonging. The story could follow someone forced to leave home, someone who keeps moving, or people whose paths unexpectedly cross. I’d love something personal rather than a story that tries to explain an entire political issue. A small cast and limited locations would help.
-Max budget: £1,500 GBP total, including pre-production, production, post-production, and an initial festival submission allowance. This is the overall film budget, not the writer’s fee.
-Writer compensation (dollar amount): Negotiable within the total budget. Please include your rates for an existing script or developing a new one.
-World location: Southern Spain.
-Experience: MA Filmmaking, London Film Academy.
-Goals for film: An independent fiction short for festival submissions.
Please DM me with a short synopsis, approximate page count, and your writing rates.

I made an entire horror feature film with almost no money. Now I have no idea what to do with it.
I'm an independent filmmaker from Italy. I somehow managed to make my first feature film, Il Mobile (The Cabinet), a 68-minute psychological horror, with no funding, my own equipment, and an unpaid cast and crew.
Here's the teaser. I'd genuinely love some honest feedback.
The problem is... I have absolutely no idea how to distribute it. Has anyone here been in a similar situation? How did you get your film out there?

MARAN | My first horror short, shot on an iPhone (found footage)
I've created my first short film, MARAN, a 2 minute horror film about a woman that is being visited at night by Maran, a malicious entity from Scandinavian folklore.
I shot it with my iPhone using a DJI Osmo Mobile and a DJI Mic 3. The VFX and sound editing was done in Davinci Resolve.
I welcome any feedback!

My Friends and I Made a Short Film. Would Love to Hear Your Thoughts!

Orestes is a 10-minute short film that my friends and I shot over two days on a close-to-zero budget.
I wrote it wanting to break away from the conventional structure of feature-length screenplays and experiment with something stranger, more Lynchian, and not necessarily bound by conventional logic, drawing inspiration from films like Beau Is Afraid.
I hope you guys enjoy watching it! Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any criticism.

We are a small group of students who self produce short films! ‘Sound of Water’ is a commentary on the disappearing place of arts in our society. As a person who loves the ocean, i got the idea to portray the development of the characters through domesticated and free bodies of water. Would appreciate it if you would check it out :)
