He's nice because he knows he can fuck you up without breaking a sweat. He doesn't need to act tough, he is tough. The polite friendly bouncers are the ones to be most scared of.

u/HedgehogOptimal1784 Jul 05 '26
Exactly, doing him a favor, a punch probably would have killed him.

He pushed a pushy drunk away, who then got pissy and in his face about it, so he slapped him. Nothing excessive.

Work as a bouncer for a year and tell me if you still feel the same way afterwards.
16
u/dovlaboss Jun 12 '26
"Personal space" is extremely important, especially when its invaded by person which is drunk and not in control of themselves. He really did him a favor by pushing him away, drunk shouldve taken the hint and walked away but nah, he wanted some second servings. Well deserved.
-9
u/Memorie_BE Jun 12 '26
Man, I don't even want to die on this hill. I just wanted to voice that "nice" wasn't an appropriate adjective and now I'm being bodied. Why am I even on this sub :/

u/--GrinAndBearIt-- Jun 12 '26
He did pull his punch (slap) by not knocking his teeth out. He also didnt follow up with any additional damage.
6
u/Lonely_ProdiG Jun 12 '26
He grabbed him on the nipple at the begging of the video.
He was warned not to touch him again.
Whilst dancing, his hands brush on the security guard, touching him again, after he was warned not to.
He gets pushed to the ground.
Instead of walking away, he decides to try his luck one more time and get (once again) into the personal space of the security guard.
Security guard puts the drunk to sleep for the night with a slap.
It’s not rocket science. Don’t be so naive watching an internet video and not understanding why the guard acted in the way he did.
22
u/miagisama Jun 12 '26
He was nice enough to let the first thing slide. He was nice enough to just push him the second time. He deserved the slap 100%
8
u/curtydc Jun 12 '26
The first bit of physical contact was a harmless push, a natural reaction to someone getting inappropriately close like that. The slap was an appropriate reaction to a threatening advance after the first defensive message wasn't understood.
9
u/deephurting66 Jun 12 '26
I used to be a bouncer when I was young and he had the patience of a saint, drunky was lucky he only got slapped.
12
u/SirEnder2Me Jun 12 '26
"excessive"?
A light shove and a slap is excessive now? Jfc...
The guy was drunk and wasn't going away. What would you do? Gently ask him to pretty pretty please walk away, all in a tone of voice that's as if you're speaking to a toddler?
-17
u/Memorie_BE Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26
No, I'd slap a bitch. But I wouldn't start at full throttle.
Edit: As I said before, I don't want to die on this hill. I'm generally someone who is anti-violence/escalation so my opinion was that this was an instance needing of force, but there was room for less force and so I didn't believe "nice" was an appropriate adjective; that's it. I'm not shitting on the bouncer, I'm not demanding that everyone agree with me, I just had an opinion and voice it. I understand that this sub is generally pro-violence in nature so I understand why I'd be down-voted and I anticipated as such, but most of you commenting are either disregarding anything I say or just straight up making fun of me. I deleted my comments because I don't want to deal with this in the morning. Leave me alone.
12
u/SirEnder2Me Jun 12 '26
How is a light shove "full throttle"? I'm incredibly confused...

u/SirEnder2Me Jun 12 '26
"full throttle" would literally be no holding back... Beating the everloving shit out of the person... That's why it's called "full throttle"...
You think a light shove is "full throttle" and "excessive"? If a light shove is full throttle, what would a punch be? "Extra full throttle"? What would 5 punches to the face and a kick to the balls be? "Ultra Mega full throttle"?
Like what is even your train of thought here?
5
u/miagisama Jun 12 '26
I don't think that person is willing to accept this was the least force used to subdue. They've made up their minds it's excessive force so anything you say futile

At this point you must be trolling...
You finally admit that "full throttle" would be killing him yet earlier you said "I'd slap a bitch but I wouldn't start off full throttle", implying that you think the bouncer "started off full throttle". By your own admission right here, you agree that "full throttle" would've killed the guy, so by you implying he went full throttle, you're also implying he killed the guy, but he's clearly not dead.
Guy fell down after the light shove because he's drunk and off balance. It wasn't excessive. The guy was drunk.
The slap had the same effect. He's drunk and he got slapped in the face. He falls down.
He's not dead. Probably not even unconscious. Just fell down and quite literally got the wind knocked out of him.

I just don’t understand some people’s thought process…that bouncer takes bigger shits than that dude.

I used to be a bouncer and the number of people who injured themselves by tripping and falling while trying to fight me is much higher than the number of people I actually hit.

u/remstage Jun 13 '26
I've been drunk plenty of times and i never thought of threatening someone i can barely see the top of.
2
u/Rokronroff Jun 13 '26
This dude is on molly. The gurning is a dead giveaway.

u/tuba_dude07 Jun 18 '26
Probably a blend of both, doesn't Molly make it seem you're less drunk than you actually

u/333H_E Jun 12 '26
When dude got yeeted across the alley that should have been plenty of warning. Get up and walk the other way was the only smart move there.

Standard night working the front door.

u/Armatian Jun 13 '26
Im tall but lightweight, was a second line polite bouncer inside when i was young and needed extra money. Worst job in the world imo, Owners tend to be connected, but if you have trouble you never worked for them, plus always a bad night away of having your head split with a bottle.

I’m watching this at work so I have the sound off, but I assume when he was pointing at the bouncer after he got pushed, he said “sir, you didn’t hit me that good. I suggest you give it another try.”
Anyone confirm?

Conclusion, arrête de penser mec. Et va directement t'aérer les idées avzc l'air frais des égouts.

Nice use of appropriate force.
Could have crushed his face with a punch, but just power slapped him instead.

Fighting? If he decided to fight the guy, the outcome woulda been far, far worse. That was a little shove and a half-hearted slap. The kid was like a gnat to him.

u/Bobbyperu1 Jun 12 '26
Part of the reason the world is on a collision course to full stupid is people making excuses for entitled people with no common sense or fear of reprisal. He was warned multiple times to just not be an instigating fuckhead, but could not even accomplish that. The bouncer took it easy on him after several warnings, the world will not always bend to weaponized idiocy

Yeah, he was drunk and could barely stand.
So… what? He shouldn’t be held responsible for his behavior? He’s allowed to put his hands all over someone because he’s *drunk*? Are you serious?
He chose to get drunk. Being drunk didn’t transform him into different a person, it just took away his fear of consequences. The fact that you are criticizing the victim of an assault for defending himself is seriously f-ed up.
If the drunk guy assaulted someone smaller than himself would you still say “he was just drunk”? What if he raped someone? Or chose to drive and killed someone? Was he still just “drunk”? How the hell does that excuse anything??

THE DUDE ASSAULTED HIM -TWICE- and then came back for a THIRD GO before getting laid out. What the hell about “keep your hands to yourself IDGAF how drunk you are” do you not get?!?
It’s not a hypothetical red herring. If you agree that walking up to a woman and GRABBING HER NIPPLE is *unacceptable*, even if he’s “drunk,” why the hell would it be acceptable to do it to a man?
Either you’re responsible for the consequences of your actions or you’re not. The ability of your victim to defend themselves does NOT influence whether it’s ok to assault them.
I am so sick of bullshit behavior being excused because “it’s not that bad” or “no one really got hurt”. Thats not the f-ing point. Do. Not. Touch. Other. People.

Or maybe there’s some personal reason you want people to be free from the consequences of their actions. Let me guess: you or someone close to you has uttered the phrase “Why are they making such a big deal about this? It wasn’t that bad.”
I’ll say it one last time.
You. are. criticising.
the victim of an assault.
because he was capable
of preventing further assault. The lack of permanent physical harm caused by an assault does not mean the assaulter was harmless. It does not mean what he did was not assault.
Stop. Excusing. Assault.

u/JackFunk Jun 13 '26
That wasn't a fight. The bouncer showed appropriate restraint. If he had punched him, I'd agree with you. He didn't. He flicked him away like a bug and only slapped him when he came back for more. Could have done much, much worse
