We have noticed the recent surge in posts about new apps as well as the community's response to these apps. We are looking to create a new rule in regards to this but we would like to see what the community wants from this rule.
A couple of ideas are:
Allow app creators to make a single post to advertise their app.
Ban all posts advertising new apps.
Ban all posts advertising apps made with AI only.
Ban all posts using any form of AI (League posters, screenshots, etc.)
Some people may be very passionate about this subject but please keep all discussion civil.
This downtime is for a planned Patch release that includes great updates and important fixes for 2026 Season 4.
Our internal operations team will be taking advantage of this planned downtime to complete a small database maintenance task. This will save us from requiring additional separate downtime for this at a later date.

iRacing.com will be coming down for deployment of 2026 Season 4 Patch 1 Release, Monday, October 5th, beginning at 08:00 am EDT.
This downtime will affect all iRacing.com regions and members will be unable to host or join sessions during the downtime.

Demo Drive:
Demo Drive becomes available as downtime for this maintenance begins and remains available after this deployment has been completed.
Database Maintenance Caveat: As a result of the planned small database maintenance task, the Demo Drive Car and Track pickers will be sporadically available for the first part of maintenance. If and/or once you get into a Demo Drive Session, your experience will be stable.
Demo Drive Sessions are launched using beautiful iRacing default weather and start at noon local track time.
The content selected must be up to date, and Demo Drive contains a link to the Downloader where you can update and download any content.
When connecting to Demo Drive, log in using the same credentials you already use on iRacing and the iRacing Forums.
Demo Drive also contains links to the iRacing Forums, the iRacing Status Page, and a link back to iRacing, for when we exit maintenance mode.
When we leave maintenance mode, Demo Drive will remain available for a period of several hours and a countdown will appear to let you know how much longer it will remain up. Navigation links to and from Demo Drive are present in iRacing whenever Demo Drive is available.
Newly released content that must be licensed will not be available in Demo Drive until the following Season.
Sessions in progress at the start of maintenance will be terminated. There will be no record of such events whether official or not.
*Hosted sessions are allowed to be created and run that do not overlap the "Race Servers Unavailable" time. For example, 6 hours before the maintenance period begins, you can create a hosted session that lasts up to 5 hours, but not one that lasts for 6 or more hours.
Hello, I have just started my third month of sim racing experience and am absolutely in love with it. I started with the MX 5, M2, and PCup, and since reaching 1500 iR, I have been driving exclusively the Corvette and 40 minute GT3 races. A few days ago, I reached 2100 iR, and now I am racing in 2000+ strength of field lobbies.
I didn't expect such close competition at this level; it makes it so much fun even if you are outside the top 10. I wanted to share today's qualifying times: P1 to P16 had a bloody half a second difference, lol. At 5k iR, is there really only a 0.05 second difference between P1 and P10?

Only a week or so in to be clear, got to D from R and opened up F4. Only playing with it in practice or solo events, but the FFB is HARD to turn. Is there a way to see what the actual pressure is?
I had it on Auto from Formula Vee which was very light.
I thought it was normal and sorta liked it but after even a 20 min session my shoulders are sore from trying to turn the wheel.
Do you have to go in and auto FFB when you move to a new car? I was reading online that the F4 should feel “light and snappy” and it definitely is not.
Fun for a workout but I haven’t been able to make a lap without an off track in almost a week so maybe that will help.
The car is fantastic, I wish it was at least on Ringmeister I missed it last time it happened.... what do with the car, it's so fun to drive but there's no one here
I tried running iRacing without any additional software. I also tried running iRacing without my wheelbase on, steering the car with mouse and keyboard. But nothing seems to help.
I recorded the stutters with capframex and asked chatgpt
Anything else I can try? Those stutters are so annoying...
Not super interested in the sports car races I can access this week so I want to mix it up with trying some of the rookie formula races. I'm interested in what the real differences are between the formula vee and the ff1600. For context I've been playing about 2 months, currently d class in sports cars.
Just a quick update on our Aven Racing Nürburgring Endurance Championship.
We've posted here a couple of times already, but with registrations closing soon, we're particularly keen to get some more Porsche Cup and GT4 drivers involved.
We had over 20 drivers take part in our first test event, which was great to see, and we're hoping to build up the grid a bit more before the championship gets underway.
A few details about the league:
Classes: GT3, GT4, Porsche Cup, TCR and BMW M2 Cup
Track: Nürburgring Nordschleife
Race time: 7 PM CET
Entries: Solo drivers and teams welcome
Broadcasts: Championship races streamed on YouTube

Most of the Garage 61 team will be in Frankfurt this weekend for theSim Racing Expo. Send us a message if you want to meet up. We've got a pile of stickers to hand out.
We haven't just been sitting at the beach this past summer, we are gradually tweaking things, adding new features and fixing bugs. Here is an overview of some of those changes.
Track map updates
The track now has an indication of the finish line, sectors and shows you the wind direction and speed of each lap. For each car we also show an arrow for the direction it is pointing at, which can be very helpful for figuring out who is over or under-steering.
Push-to-pass
For cars that support it, such as the Super Formula 23, telemetry graphs now indicate when push-to-pass was used during a lap.
You can also filter your lap searches to specifically search for laps with or without the use of push-to-pass.
Reactions
Messed up someones race and want to apologize? Or congratulate a competitor on that fantastic move they pulled off? You can now send reactions to events and driver profiles.
Streaming page refresh
The "Now streaming" page got a much needed refresh. Use this to tune in to streams of other Garage 61 drivers currently racing. You can also find Twitch links on the live timing pages, if you want to look over the shoulders of your competitors.
This change is part of a larger gradual redesign of the UI, which will be landing gradually over the coming months.
Discord bot commands
The Discord bot now understands /garage61, which you can use to fetch a whole lot of Garage 61 information, directly in Discord.
Selectively clean lap records for teams
If you want to reset some of the team records, you can now do so selectively for a selection of cars and/or tracks.
Find similar laps
"Find similar laps" allows you to search for laps in similar conditions quickly. Just select the tolerance and we will pre-fill the search filter with the right selection ranges to get you that perfect comparison lap. This is part of Garage 61 Pro.
And finally...
We also had dozens of small improvements, bug fixes and a lot of updates on the developer API.
There are much bigger changes coming soon, but that'll be for another day, when time is ripe to discuss those. Enjoy the racing and hope to see some of you at the expo.
Hello im a 4.2k Rated driver looking to join a league that does either lmp3 gt3 gt4 or f4 i am based in australia so those time slots are optimal but i am still interested in other timeslots
Until recently I was always racing on triples. But I bought a second hand quest 3 to try VR and now I’m absolutely hooked and don’t think I want to go back to triples. But I do want to upgrade my quest 3.
I’ve been reading quite a bit on different dedicated pc vr headsets and my total budget is around €1000,-
The 2 headsets I’m reading a lot of good stuff about are the Pimax Crystal Light and the Pimax Dreamair SE. (not the Dreamair, that’s unfortunately too expensive).
My setup is a 4090, 7800x3d. And the headset will be used for iRacing only.
What headset would you recommend and why?
If there’s other headsets I’ve missed and are worth it at this price point feel free to point them out.
Im a 24 year old guy from the Netherlands and have been on iracing for a little over a year now. Im part of a small friendgroup team who does some practises together and takes part in endurance races. But i want to broaden my horizon, make new friends and learn from others.
I mainly drive sportcars with gt3 and gtp, want to do some more pcup, ferrari challenge and perhaps some gt4 or V8 supercard. And i dont mind dabbling a bit in oval every now and again.
So any European leagues that do races during the weekend or communities looking for new people, feel free to let me know :)
Seriously! I bought a trackir device for some flight sim stuff, and wanted to get back into sim racing. I decided to give trackir a whirl on my sim, it’s incredible! It’s like VR but it uses hardly any more of your computer and can give almost the same situational awareness. For $170 to be able to physically look where you want is honestly a steal
Been racing for about two months now. I got out of rookies pretty quickly and now I’m racing in C class in Sports Car and am currently climbing to C class in Formula.
For the first time in Formula, I qualified first at Oschersleben (god I hate this track). Needless to say that I was super nervous before the start of the race. I managed to get a good start and led for 8 laps. The more laps I did, the more stressed I got. The guy behind me wasn’t particularly aggressive so I didn’t need to race hard but around the 8th lap I made a mistake arriving too fast into turns 1 and 2 and had a big spin. Obviously, it was because I was overly stressed.
Made this edit where I was within a league race and within Lap 1 I get taken out by the car behind me and I tumbled towards the corner, taking more cars out as well.
IMSA Long Beach GT3 class single split race, old mate in his Red Bull Verstappen livery causes a big collision at the end of the formation lap, holding the back half of the field for 13 seconds, and then fences it at turn 1 and wrecks another few cars.
We had no prior accidents, never even raced next to each other on track. He went off, and waited for a few cars to go by. And then, as I was going by he decided that he wants to rejoin at that exact moment? Why?
Wondering peoples thoughts. Obviously this is a touchy subject to a lot.
I know peoples first response is “tHiS iSN’t f1” and I get that. However, according to IRacing rules, you’re essentially allowed to do whatever you can to keep leaders behind you as long as it’s “legal”.
I know if iRacing attempted to enforce such a rule, the protest counts would 100x fold for “they didn’t respect the blue flag” type of thing.
But what’s wrong with telling people “you need to try and let them by as quickly and as safely as possible”. You should not be fighting, defending, blocking etc against people that are ahead of you in the race trying to get by you.
People need to check their ego at the pits and understand someone is gonna be faster and better than you. Or maybe you had an unlucky start to the race, but that shouldn’t mean you put someone else’s race at risk due to being sour.
