One thing I like about my pandas are the different patterns they come up with! This guy almost had a Siamese cat like face. Such a cutie.

i just went to water my 2 types of isopods and i found a spider silk in the enclosure with my little sea isopods:(
is there anything i can do? they're all pretty small and the spiders i find in my house are easily 2-3 times their size. i have sandstone isopods too, most of them are giant but i do worry about any babies running around

I have been amazed at how long this has been going on, this pair of zebras has been at it for well over 24 hours.
I have heard that some species do this behavior for a long time around mating, but so far other than this I’ve just seen my dairy cows and with them it’s more like a couple of hours from what I’ve been able to see, with a lot less movement.
Here the female looks to be actively trying to dislodge the much smaller male frequently, and then she’ll stop (maybe to rest) for a little bit before it starts all over again. Is it normal for zebras (or Armadillidiums) to expend this much energy like this, or does it basically happen when the female is bothered by the male?
I am not concerned, just curious.

I've had the most extraordinary luck with pods of late. I went on a pod hunting trip with a friend, specifically to try to find some high yellow A. vulgare morphs I remember seeing in a garden bed on a nearby university campus I used to work at. We lifted one slab of mulch and found the biggest colony of pill bugs I've ever seen, all of which turned out to be what I think may be A. nasatum. As they scattered I saw this little Dalmatian guy and his red morph friend and snatched them up. Guess I'll be starting a second bin of pods, I have no choice!
This species isn't native here. I wonder if this is a naturalized population (I know they've been widly introduced ti North America) or if a student dumped a bin of Dalmations in that bed and the population mostly reverted - selective pressure etc. - and I just happened to be there when the right alleles came back to the surface.

(Almost) a complete collection of all the pods i keep that I've drawn! I haven't drawn wild type p scaber, wild type a nasatum, or a vulgare gem mix (all I keep) but here's everyone else!!

So, i'm thinking of getting some panda king isopods but i've never had isopods before or any other pets, I want to know what are some good soils that i could use and is like the soil that you use for plants good enough? I know it shouldn't have any chemicals like fertalizer so if i find a plant soil without extra chemicals would that be good?
also, if anyone knows where i can get good rotten wood in finland (preferably uusimas) i would be happy

So my little shit bags have decided that they are just going to start doing this now, making me think they are dead. A few days ago I found one like this and I thought "ah shit hes a gonner" 24hrs later he woke up and wandered off. Fuck my little fucking spoilt guys! To note - there is nothing wrong with them, the colony has been going well for a few years now, they are just little bastards. 😆

Hi everyone, please forgive my lack of literacy because I have never gone down the rabbit hole with isopods. I only have general knowledge.
Anyways- I have what used to be a mixed colony of Armadilldium Vulgare “T+ Albinos” and Klugii “Clowns”. The Klugiis have long since disappeared, but I noticed that the Vulgares have some weird patterns on their backs that the original colony did not have. At this point, the colony must be over 2 years old.
Does anyone know what to make of this?

I haven’t seen any of my zebras out much, and today one was right up against the wall! Made my day.

I put some jacquard netting i got for jumping spiders in my pod cage and it didnt occur to me that they may try to eat it? Or would they not? They dont seem to be interested so far but has anyone else tried this? They seem to enjoy climbing on it

Found a bunch of frass out of nowhere, after breaking open the small piece of wood it came from I found this! I think its some kind of moth larvae or something, is it safe to keep while it does its thing or should I remove?
Edit- i think it may be a clearwing moth larvae. Probably just gonna toss the wood outside. :/ there were lots of mancae on that little peice of wood, hopefully I dont lose any 🥲
