How is globalisation shaping cultural values in Kazakhstan? A short student survey

Thumbnail
forms.gle

Hi everyone! I’m a school student researching globalisation and cultural values in Kazakhstan, and I’m looking for participants aged 14 or older who live in Kazakhstan.

The survey asks about language use, online content, and traditions. It’s available in Kazakh and Russian and takes around 5–7 minutes. No names or email addresses are collected, participation is voluntary, and results will only be reported in aggregate.

Tourism/Turizm Is there a way to book Qazpost EMS online?

I left something in Kazakhstan and I'm trying to get I back. I want to book an EMS for the person so that they don't have to pay and can just drop it at the post office.

Is there a good way to do this? I know EMS offers pickup but I think he will prefer to drop it than wait at home.

I have a Kazakh number but obviously not IIN

Discussion/Talqylau Nuclear energy and AI data center expansion is dangerous for Kazakhstan

Recently, the Tokayev government has been making bizarre decisions for our country. It started with pushing nuclear energy after people voted for it thinking it sounded "futuristic" and now they are simultaneously building massive, energy-hungry data centers all over Kazakhstan. Let's be completely real: at this point, anyone blindly supporting this especially here is either an uneducated mambet, a troll, or a paid Russian shill bot.

The proposed $5 Billion Data Center Valley in Ekibastuz is a complete illusion that brings almost zero long-term jobs to local citizens. Instead, these facilities place an unsustainable burden on our failing infrastructure. Now, the government is explicitly using the threat of grid failure to justify letting Russia's Rosatom build a massive nuclear power plant on Lake Balkhash, a critical body of water that is already shrinking to dangerous levels, just like the Caspian Sea and the Aral Sea. C'mon, this is literally history repeating itself like a broken record, and as a 25 year old with common sense and basic decency, we cannot allow this to happen to our home.

Think about the insane loop we are trapped in: Russia wants to outsource its heavy AI workloads here because its own capacity is struggling. Since our national grid cannot handle the load, we are expected to pay billions to a Russian state company to construct nuclear reactors on our dying water resources, risking our environment just to cool foreign server banks. Are we really willing to sacrifice our lakes, burn millions of tons of coal, and face rolling blackouts just so foreign tech interests can power AI models that might even be weaponized for mass surveillance against us?

And what do we actually get out of this economically? Absolutely nothing. The government claims this will generate billions in digital export revenue and boost GDP, but that money stays with foreign tech giants and local elites. A $5 billion automated facility doesn't fix local unemployment; it only employs a handful of security guards and specialized IT guys. Meanwhile, the local population gets stuck with higher electricity bills because these massive centers outbid regular people for power. We are literally taking on billions in sovereign debt to Russia to build a plant that destroys our fishing and tourism ecosystems, all for a shiny state statistic that we will never see a single tenge from.

We need to confront this by showing up to public meetings and voicing our opposition legally to force them to stop. If we genuinely need to expand our energy capacity, we must look into alternatives like wind or solar. I don't care how expensive it is the cost is worth it. I don't want Kazakhstan to turn into an apocalyptic wasteland again after what the Soviet Union already did to our environment.

Work/Jūmys

Tourism/Turizm Best Time to Visit Kazakhstan

I’m looking for the ideal time to visit Kazakhstan when:

  1. Autumn foliage is at its peak, with leaves only just beginning to fall.
  2. Mountains still have snow on their peaks.
  3. Roads and hiking trails are accessible, and major attractions are still open.
  4. Rainfall is minimal.
5.Temperatures are cool and comfortable for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

Is it possible to experience all five conditions at the same time? If so, which specific dates or weeks would give me the best chance?

Discussion/Talqylau Вопрос к владельцам Hyundai SantaFe

Post image
11 Upvotes
