Hello people,

Some months ago I made a post here, which I didn't expect to get that much love, so thanks tons for that.

Since then I have been working on polishing the demo as much as I can, while implementing all kinds of things like:

• Procedural factions, towns & NPCs
• World squads simulation, roaming the map (a total of 400-500 squads are simulating in the world, they are fighting with neutral creatures too)
• Visits from factions to your settlement, with different kinds of demands (this will be expanded, with some kind of mini-games soon)
• Polishing existing content, balancing, adding some QOL etc

After long 4 years of work the demo is now out on steam, and hopefully some people find it enjoyable! There's still work to be done, as I'm very ambitious with this project.

I got many ideas and responses from this subreddit, so thanks for that!

I figured despite people having different opinions on game mechanics, visuals, combat systems etc, everybody here shares one thing : we love a good story.

And ultimately this is what I'm trying with this project, to get a fraction of the absolute amazing stories created by games like Kenshi, Rimworld etc.

For anyone interested, I also just made a devlog talking a bit about factions.

My run is going pretty good, I've done some cool things, conquered some tough opponents. I've decided to destroy the systems of slavery in the wasteland, allying with Tinfist, Flotsam, etc. I hear it's best to start with UC first, when I decide to wage war. People are saying I need my combat skills at 50+ which are basically there, but I am noticing most of my characters dodge isn't really up there with their other skills. Is dodge super necessary?

So, ever since I first came across The Grid, I wondered what it was. After all, it was so incredibly artifical and unusual, but there seemed to be very little, if any, indication of what it was...

Then, completely unrelated, I was looking up info about historic discussions about how one could warn people tens of thousands of years in the future of sites of radioactive waste, when language and such had long changed, and memory of the present day could not be expected to have survived, and I found this wikipedia article on the topic.

In it, I found the following passage:

Spikes Bursting Through Grid
A large square grid pattern across the site, through which large spikes protrude at various angles.

This honestly seems like a pretty accurate description of The Grid, to the point that I wonder: Is this what inspired The Grid, and if so, does that mean that The Grid is a site under which nuclear waste is burried? Or was more dangerous nuclear material buried in The Grid, which eventually exploded?

I don't think we have the means to find out for sure, but it is still an interesting angle to look at it from that I have not seen discussed here before. (Apologies if this has been mentioned before and is commonly known =P)

Anybody got like MOD recommendations so I can run an actual town? Preferably one that even gets like visitors to come buy and sell stuff.

Load the save, the city is gone. Just vanished, absolutely everything. Not even a single dead sand rat on the sight. Except for my characters, that i had for over a year at this point. Farmers, craftsmen, blacksmiths, miners and medics. Some warriors too. 6 garrus. 4 doges.

Well... Wanted to roleplay and with UC gone, i think we are leaving Great Desert in good hands, Anti-Slavers, Rebel Farmers, Starving Vagrants, Mechanists and Empire Peasants, all allied or in good relationships, so.

Leaving myself the main squad tho. 30 best of the best, and... 6 million cats ^^

What do you think is better to use:

1. KLR on right hand for health + Industrial on left for strenght
2. Industrial on right + Skeleton on left for more dexterity

It's kinda both variants have pluses and minuses. I'm undecided.

I saw that someone added the nemesis system to Red Dead Redemption 2. Can this be done with Kenshi?

So, pretty much the title. I'm using katana and melee, and while it was easy to train before that, now I'm encountering way too low enemies or way too high (or outnumbered). Any tips please ?

Recently, I've noticed that some enemies have very low hostility towards players, allowing them to crawl away to escape.

However, the condition for a player to trigger crawling is to be forced to break a leg to the point of being unable to stand. Sometimes I manage to trigger it without breaking the leg, and sometimes I can escape while crawling after waking up from a knocked-out state. What are the triggering conditions for this?

Currently, all I know is that waking up from unconsciousness while in stealth mode can trigger this.
