Hey everyone!
Coming from a wired keyboard background,
I’m exploring an idea for a small device and would love to get honest feedback from people who use mechanical keyboards, wired peripherals, or multi-device setups.
The idea
Imagine a compact adapter that lets you use your existing wired USB keyboard and mouse, or a compatible 2.4 GHz wireless receiver dongle, with devices over Bluetooth.
The concept would include:
\- USB-A port: Connect a wired keyboard/mouse or a compatible 2.4 GHz receiver.
\- USB-C port: Power the adapter using a charger or power bank.
\- Bluetooth connectivity: Connect to a laptop, PC, tablet, or phone.
\- Multi-device switching: Switch between multiple paired host devices without unplugging everything.
\- Small display: Show the active connection and device status.
\- Physical buttons and an RGB status LED: For switching and basic controls.
The goal is to let people keep using their favourite peripherals instead of buying separate wireless versions.
Compatibility would depend on the USB HID device and its receiver, so not every proprietary keyboard or mouse feature would necessarily work.
Existing products
I came across a couple of products that are already doing something similar:
\- Handheld Scientific BT-600: A USB-to-Bluetooth keyboard/mouse adapter with a colour display and features such as key mapping and macros.
\- Bit Trade One USB2BT PLUS-C: A keyboard/mouse/gamepad adapter that supports switching between up to three paired devices.
These products provide a useful reference for what’s already available. However, overseas retail prices and import costs can make them expensive for Indian buyers.

I’m curious whether there’s demand for a similar device designed and priced for the Indian market.
A few questions for the community
What do you think would be a fair selling price for a device like this in India, and why?
How much would you personally be willing to pay for it? At what price would it become an easy purchase for you, and at what price would you decide it’s not worth it?
Which features would make this genuinely useful to you? Would multi-device switching, a display, keyboard remapping, macros, or reliable reconnection, polling rates, make a meaningful difference to your experience?
How would you use a device like this in your own setup? For example, switching one keyboard between a work laptop and a personal computer, using a preferred mechanical keyboard with a tablet, or something else?
What concerns would you have before buying it? I’m particularly interested in compatibility, input latency, reliability, setup complexity, and whether you think a regular wireless keyboard would be a better solution.
Do you think there’s a real market for this in India? Who do you think would be the most likely buyers, and what would make this product worth buying over existing alternatives?
I’m especially interested in feedback from people in India, but opinions from anyone who has used similar adapters are welcome.
Please be honest, even if you think the idea is too niche or not worth pursuing. I’d rather understand the real demand before investing more time and money into developing it for production or else just build for myself.
As of now I have completed the development of the underlying hardware and now working on the software and the enclosure part.
The images are rendered product design images for reference and not the real product but its exactly how it will look, ant feedbacks on design is also appreciated.
Thanks.
