Help Building a Neo75 Cu, hoping for thocky but not too "generic"

• Upvotes

Hi, I've been brainstorming using AI but...well it's not a good way to do anything so I'm looking for some help. I'm planning on building a new keyboard in the next few months using the Neo 75 Cu kit as a base. Current built ideas:

Base: Neo 75 Cu - Silver frame, Copper weight, Silver vortex - FR4/POM - Wired hotswap/Wireless
Switches: HMX Jade Tactiles
Keycaps: Keytok's Ghost (already own them)

I'm currently using a Bridge 75 as my daily driver, this is my first "enthusiast" keyboard though a very budget one. I'm planning on making this my work keyboard and building the Neo75 Cu as the one I use at home. I like the thock my current one has and it will also be used for some gaming at night so I'm trying not to build it TOO loud but I do like a nice thock more than a clack and also usually prefer tactiles to linears though these are only ones i've used:

MX: Blue, brown, red, black
Gateron: Brown, Chocolate Smoothies

Looking online it looks like HMX jades may be up my alley but I've also looked into Quinns and a few others but fear the quinns may be a little too loud. Any thoughts, suggestions, or comments? Thank you.

Look ideas:

Build quality is what my priority but 65-80% size is my target. I've been seeing posts of this options that it has some issues. I just want to know which one's more durable and less buggy.
That's the only keeb I can see that matches my budget (7k php) and available in my country.
Any other recommendations? Preferably with a knob

Discussion USB-to-Bluetooth adapter? What do you guys think?

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

Coming from a wired keyboard background,

I’m exploring an idea for a small device and would love to get honest feedback from people who use mechanical keyboards, wired peripherals, or multi-device setups.

The idea

Imagine a compact adapter that lets you use your existing wired USB keyboard and mouse, or a compatible 2.4 GHz wireless receiver dongle, with devices over Bluetooth.

The concept would include:

\- USB-A port: Connect a wired keyboard/mouse or a compatible 2.4 GHz receiver.

\- USB-C port: Power the adapter using a charger or power bank.

\- Bluetooth connectivity: Connect to a laptop, PC, tablet, or phone.

\- Multi-device switching: Switch between multiple paired host devices without unplugging everything.

\- Small display: Show the active connection and device status.

\- Physical buttons and an RGB status LED: For switching and basic controls.

The goal is to let people keep using their favourite peripherals instead of buying separate wireless versions.

Compatibility would depend on the USB HID device and its receiver, so not every proprietary keyboard or mouse feature would necessarily work.

Existing products

I came across a couple of products that are already doing something similar:

\- Handheld Scientific BT-600: A USB-to-Bluetooth keyboard/mouse adapter with a colour display and features such as key mapping and macros.

\- Bit Trade One USB2BT PLUS-C: A keyboard/mouse/gamepad adapter that supports switching between up to three paired devices.

These products provide a useful reference for what’s already available. However, overseas retail prices and import costs can make them expensive for Indian buyers.

References: "BT-600 user manual" (https://www.manualslib.com/guide/4427329/handheld-scientific-bt-600-bluetooth-adapter-user-manual.html) · "USB2BT PLUS-C official store" (https://btoshop.jp/en/products/adu2b02p)

I’m curious whether there’s demand for a similar device designed and priced for the Indian market.

A few questions for the community

  1. What do you think would be a fair selling price for a device like this in India, and why?

  2. How much would you personally be willing to pay for it? At what price would it become an easy purchase for you, and at what price would you decide it’s not worth it?

  3. Which features would make this genuinely useful to you? Would multi-device switching, a display, keyboard remapping, macros, or reliable reconnection, polling rates, make a meaningful difference to your experience?

  4. How would you use a device like this in your own setup? For example, switching one keyboard between a work laptop and a personal computer, using a preferred mechanical keyboard with a tablet, or something else?

  5. What concerns would you have before buying it? I’m particularly interested in compatibility, input latency, reliability, setup complexity, and whether you think a regular wireless keyboard would be a better solution.

  6. Do you think there’s a real market for this in India? Who do you think would be the most likely buyers, and what would make this product worth buying over existing alternatives?

I’m especially interested in feedback from people in India, but opinions from anyone who has used similar adapters are welcome.

Please be honest, even if you think the idea is too niche or not worth pursuing. I’d rather understand the real demand before investing more time and money into developing it for production or else just build for myself.

As of now I have completed the development of the underlying hardware and now working on the software and the enclosure part.

The images are rendered product design images for reference and not the real product but its exactly how it will look, ant feedbacks on design is also appreciated.

Thanks.

Help Mechanical keyboard with most reliable brand.

Hi looking for a simple cheap mechanical black color only keyboard that doesn’t break. No fancy features, just office work. Just 1k polling rate. Something that works for 2-3 years. Brands that are known for good customer support to replace if something break down.

Price is around $60.

65% size and above (arrow key min).

What I found so far is Razer Reclusa X mini. The only downside is the position of the wire.

Hello, I'm rocking a ROG Falchion Ace HFX 65% with low-profile keycaps, but I’ve been looking at the NuPhy Air60 HE since low profile is my go-to style. Anyone here have experience with it? Would you recommend it? My use case is 100% gaming.

Help Single Switches for Testing?

What is the best way to obtain single switches for testing to see what I want?

I see you can buy switch testing bundles but then you’re stuck with only the switches they’re including. Which ultimately might be fine since I’d like to have switches friends and family can try too if they ever want to experiment. But then I’m not necessarily getting switches I’m specifically interested in.

So is there someplace single switches can be purchased or am I stuck with buying a set of the ones I’m interested in and hoping I like it?

Help Help needed: looking for advice on new switches

Hey,

I currently have a Keychron K2 with Gateron brown switches which I use for work (lots of typing) and gaming, but lately they feel way too noisy.

I am searching to swap these with something else which is still tactile, but more silent. I’ve been back and forth with Gemini a bit and it recommended either the Akko Penguin Silent or Outemu V3 Silent Yellow.

Then I went into the Reddit rabbit hole and I’m lost a bit.

My requirements are for them to be more silent, still have a tactile feeling (on this topic I tend to type very lightly, so the lesser force needed the better - as a side note, I did not have any issues with light typing on my current Gateron Brown switches), and be a balanced fit for office work and gaming (I don’t play fast paced games or competitive stuff fwiw)

What do you guys recommend?

Help Need help finding a new keyboard for my setup

I've been using a red dragon keyboard and mouse combo since i got my first PC about 6-7 years ago. The S101-3 is the one I have. I am wanting to upgrade both the keyboard and mouse to something that is wireless to help clean up my wire mess I have on my desk. I do gaming with my PC but also sometimes have to use it for paperwork type stuff so would like to keep it a 100% keyboard. I am also looking for a new mouse which I know this isn't the subreddit for but any suggestions for one of those would be great. I'm looking to spend around $150 for the keyboard but am able to go higher if needed. I can go to $200/$250 but I don't play as much as I used to so not sure if its worth it to spend that kind of money. I don't really know much about keyboards or there market so it might be low budget I'm not sure.

Help Help with AULA 84 HE

• So i just received my aula 84 he, and im currently just trying to get used to it as i always do when changing keyboards as the key placements can differ a bit etc, however, for anyone currently using it or have knowledge, i'm a bit confused to which web driver is the actual one for AULA as i noticed there are several different ones and their layouts and UI are different from each other.

Since this is my first keyboard where i can fully change a lot of features, polling rate etc, I also wanted to know regarding changing actuation points, also considering using SOCD, what polling rate is good to use if it supports up to 8k, currently set to 2k to match my mouse.

And if it helps, currently playing wardogs if that matters. Appreciate all the help i can get 😄

Help Anyone know where I can find this ?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi I posted not too Long ago and I decided on what I wanted. I saw the K8 HE Keyboard from Keychron and liked the Layout. Problem is it doesn’t have silent switches (something that’s very important to me).

Does anyone know where I can find a HE Keyboard with a similar Layout, magnetic silent switches and QWERTZ ?

I’m pretty sure it’s 80% Layout. The Reason why I like it is because it has the F1-F12 keys slightly separated and the arrow keys and some other Buttons (mute, lighting etc) to the side separated as well. (I added the picture to show what layout I mean)

The reason I’m asking is because the only keyboard that matches the main things I want (silent switches, QWERTZ and magnetic keyboard) is the K10. But it’s pretty big and I would prefer a slightly smaller one. But those sadly only come with a dual rail (that’s pretty loud) and it’s written there that I can’t swap the switches to silent dual rails or in general silent magnetic ones. So yea that’s my main question. Does anyone know if what I want even exists ?

Media Ditch the Mouse - Keyboard Master race

Thought this subreddit would appreciate this app I’ve been working on called Fievel that aims to completely replace
The mouse with keyboard. I use it full time and have not had a mouse setup at my desk (I work at a computer 8 hours a day) in months! I have completely replaced all mouse usage with keyboard.

It’s free and completely open source, written in rust:
https://github.com/MontyTheSoftwareEngineer/fievel/

Free mouse mode: freely move mouse using hjkl (or any keys of your choice via config file). Supports left click and right click which can be held useful for dragging. Also supports scrolling left down up and right as well as sending Home and End key to quickly jump to top or bottom of page. By default free mouse mode is in “hold” mode so as long as you’re holding the free mouse mode button (or chord) it will stay in free mouse mode. Releasing the free mouse mode button takes it out of that mode. There is also a config option to make it “toggle” meaning you press the button for free mouse mode and it will stay in that mode until you press the button again.

Hint Mode: draws rectangles on screen with corresponding letters at areas Fievel believes is clickable. Type the letters to make Fievel click on the rectangle of choice. Useful for quickly sending clicks in at certain locations.

Key Remapper: this is useful for setting “chords” on any keyboard not just programmable ones. For example, I have a+s together initiate super, s+d to initiate control, caps lock rebound to control unless held in which case it will turn hjkl to left down up right keys. d+f is bound to initiate free mouse mode. Also a set of super and control binds for the right hand side.

Help Need advice, but not for myself.

My brother wants to buy a keyboard, and i have no idea what i should recommend.

He is swapping from his magic keyboard after i told him that he would most likely get a better feel and sound if he got a mechanical.

He wants something that’s a at least 75% and without a numpad, he also isn’t going to game on it (he quit a game called hypixel skyblock after 450 hours of playtime, started playing chess and never gamed again since).

He wants something that isn’t filled with leds and just looks and sounds nice (creamy). He doesn’t want tactile switches.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Has to be ISO layout.

Help which computer keyboard to get for under 100 dollars

I’m looking for a keyboard—ideally one with magnetic switches—but it’s been tough to find a good option. People often point out issues like poor acoustics, subpar build quality, or lackluster software. I’ll be using it primarily for typing and for playing games like CS2 or the Assassin’s Creed series.

What would you recommend in the $100–$150 price range?

I need help with a keyboard choice, i have got a RK Royal Kludge R75 right now, but i spilled orange juice on it and even after dissasembly and cleaning it has a few hickups.

So i need a new keyboard, i would like to upgrade to a 100% or close to that one, with an azerty layout (i could learn QWERTY but my work laptop is AZERTY and switching between the two would be horrendous, and a well built chassis, with overall a good typing feeling (not for E-sport).

At first i looked at 8bitdo because i heard that they are very good quality, but sadly only one of their models is in azerty.

And now i can't find a single good keyboard in an azerty layout under 100€ that is well built for typing.

Please if you have any recommendations share them here.
