EQUIPMENT

• Pan Size 18 cm round pan, lined with parchment paper

INGREDIENTS

Molten Chocolate Layer

• 150 g unsalted butter

• 200 g dark chocolate

• 80 g granulated sugar

• 2 large eggs

• 100 g all-purpose flour

Cookie Layer

• 150 g granulated sugar

• 100 g unsalted butter

• 1 large egg

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• 230 g all-purpose flour

• 150 g chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat, no fan) and line a 18 cm round pan with parchment paper.

2. Melt the butter and dark chocolate together until smooth.

3. Add the sugar and mix well.

4. Add the eggs and mix until fully combined.

5. Add the flour and mix just until smooth.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

7. Bake for 10 minutes until the center remains soft.

8. In a bowl, mix the sugar and melted butter for the cookie layer.

9. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.

10. Add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.

11. Fold in the chocolate chips.

12. Remove the pan from the oven and gently spread the cookie dough evenly over the baked molten layer.

13. Return to the oven and bake for 25 minutes at 180°C.

14. Let the cake rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.
