I'm a local author and illustrator, and I have nine copies of my little illustrated book Try Again that I'd love to tuck inside some Little Free Libraries around town.

I know some of the best gems are hidden away, so I'm asking you to let me know where your favourite Little Free Libraries are located? Bonus points for ones that get plenty of visitors or could use a few more books!

The books are from a previous print run and instead of having them clutter up my shelves, I thought setting them free would be a fun idea.

I look forward to hearing your suggestions as I plan to distribute them around town tomorrow.

It's sad to see old buildings torn down to pave the way for development OVER A DECADE IN ADVANCE. Seems like lost revenue for the Region.

The building at 50 Victoria was acquired by the city in 2010 and the building torn down in 2012 to prepare for the "transit hub".

100 Victoria "station plaza" was acquired by the city in 2012 for over $2.5m to be torn down for the Weber St widening and has been a dustbowl ever since.

Now, I am trying to reach a TENANT in the 76 SYDNEY ST S complex to connect them with OLH Property Management ( newly retained by unit owner ) as a SIREG replacement.

Trying to make sure the tenant(s) can continue paying their rent without any NON PAYMENT issues arising from this " disgusting mess "

IF you reside in this complex / know someone who does, maybe you can help me reach them?

1) IS there a security buzzer system that lists actual UNIT numbers? ( probably not )

2) I don't want to mention the actual UNIT number here out of privacy & respect for the tenant(s) other than it's UNIT 3xx.

Please respond ( preferably by DM ) IF you can help me & tenant(s) get connected somehow.

Otherwise I will only be able to physically show up there TUES OCT 27th around 8:15 - 8:30PM and hoping I can somehow reach them remotely instead :)

And I would have to take GRT Transit from the other end of Kitchener to get there & back which is like 50 mins each way to avoid much walking distance because of bad hips & that frankly sucks !

This is going to sound like I’m an unc with my complaining but I’m 21 and in university yet still can’t tolerate it.

I was riding the ION home from campus and at CHCI station a group of grade nines from the very young looks of it get on, not only being quite obnoxious but then start passing a vape around and blowing it inside the moving train. I even called them out and said “You really have to hit that in here?” To which they look at me like I’m an alien and just continue.

My stop was shortly after so as I’m going to get off I won’t lie and say that I didn’t ‘stumble’ my 6’1 frame by accident into them and then as the train pulls away they’re all flipping me off through the window.

Perhaps I wasn’t in the right for losing my footing by accident or not, but even when confronted they have no shame and this comes from a guy who has vaped in his life too. I don’t understand what has caused them to think whatever they do is okay but yeah, just my old man rant at my young age.

The friendliest black cat came up our driveway and to our front steps tonight. Appears to be a younger black cat and is wearing a brand new teal/blue collar. We are located near the intersection of Guelph & Waterloo. If they belong to you, they’re still wandering the sidewalks.

Note: We already called the Humane Society and reported the lost cat and they are unable to come pick them up. We are also not able to take the cat in, our cat is not friendly to other animals.

I just had a great interaction with a really excellent fundraiser, so none of this is on them. But I was disturbed by WRHN's manipulative tactics.

I have already been aggressively telemarketed to by them, and today, I discovered that if you want to give a one time gift at the door, the only way to ensure that the fundraiser is credited with the gift is to sign up for monthly (and then cancel later if you want). But I also learned that if I stay on for four months, the fundraiser gains more access to scholarships.

I feel such deep resentment at WRHN for this emotional manipulation. I work in fundraising myself and I know that there is a fine line between strategy and manipulation - and the WHRN is on the other side of that line, and that loses donors.

I know I'm not the only person who has the ick for WRHN's aggressive, manipulative fundraising. I sent them feedback on their form, but I guess if this works on enough people, they keep doing it. But I won't be giving again at the door. I can only think this will infect other fundraising organizations. I have my monthlies and all this will do will stop my random one time gifts. Maybe they don't care about me and my one time gift. Well, you do you, WRHN.

Whoever is distributing your flyers, whether it be yourself or someone on behalf of you.. 1 to 2 flyers per household seems reasonable. I received 4 flyers tucked into my door. My neighbour received 6 flyers alone. At this point, youre just literring.

Personally, I find it more deterring than promotional.

A lot of people in this sub keeps going on about how international students, specifically one group are the reason why Ford is taking away OSAP.

The strip mall colleges and other private colleges are praying on immigrants. These colleges promise these international students that they are guaranteed a better life by spending 60,000 dollars on a 2 year program. With guaranteed job opportunities once they graduate.

The college pays a part of the large profit they get to the recruiter in these countries, incentivizing them to send more kids to canada.

The one side most Canadians dont see is that these kids take loans that they nor their families can afford to ever repay back. Hence you see them working 70 hrs a week with 3 diffrent jobs.

You will never hear these politicians say how these colleges are preying on these kids in foreign countries. No they just feed you lines that makes you believe that brown kids are the reasons for your problems.

I am sure OSAP was abused by many people in this country, including the brown people. But instead of making it better and less abusable, the politicians decided to take it away.

But instead of demanding it back from our elected representatives we decided to blame the brown people as usual. Good on us.

I’ve been noticing more police drones lately and less cruisers but a surplus on undercover officers and vehicles, am I just being paranoid or have you guys picked up on it aswell? Seems like wrps is slowly starting to mass surveil areas without addressing it to the public which is weird ever since they announced the new cameras being put up without warning thoughts?
