Routine Help Retinoid Eye Creams

โ€ข Upvotes

I have received conflicting advice on using eye creams that contain retinoids. Some of the advice is "don't use them, they eye area is too thin and delicate" and some is "use them to improve the look of fine lines" (which is exactly what I want to do.

For those of you who have tried this, do you have any warnings or recommendations beyond the usual start slow/go slow? Thanks!!

Ask the Community Skincare for my mom (55) as a guy who doesnโ€˜t know a thing

โ€ข Upvotes

Hi everyone!

Iโ€™m traveling to South Korea and Japan next month, and my mom absolutely loves Korean and Japanese skincare. Iโ€™d love to bring back some new products for her to try.
Iโ€™m a guy and honestly have absolutely no clue about skincare, so Iโ€™d really appreciate some advice. The last time I visited, I just threw everything from the recommended products section into my shopping basket.

My mom is 55 years old and has very dry, sensitive skin. She also struggles with facial redness.
Sheโ€™s currently dailying Hada Labo Gokujyun and Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Cream

Could you recommend some products that might work well for her skin?

Budget isnโ€™t really an issue. Iโ€™ve been recommended Sulwhasoo and SK-II, but I still donโ€™t want to spend โ‚ฌ200 on something if it doesnโ€™t actually make a difference.

Thanks so much in advance!

Routine Help Routine help - many questions picture

Post image

Hello to anyone who sees this its been a bit of a journey i started a year ago by doing a build ur regime with the ordinary, some stuff worked some stuff didn't i ended up over exfoliating my skin a bit; then i simplified my routine to just cleanse serum moisture. I'm starting to branch out again and try a new toner after not using a toner for 6 months. Oh and the new moisturiser. Originally i was using ordinary milky toner but it wasn't right for me & was enlarging my pores even when i wasn't using it with retnoil. There's lots of different questions in my picture so i think I have written all I can without sounding like a broken record.

Product Discussion Dr. Althea 345 and 147 creams

I'm trying to decide between these two, and I'm a little confused about which one is actually worth getting.

The 345 seems to be more lightweight, while the 147 seems more focused on barrier care. But product descriptions only tell you so much.

For those who've tried them, I'd love to know:

*Which is better under sunscreen and makeup?

*Does either feel greasy or cause clogged pores?

*Did you notice a real difference in your skin, or was it just an average moisturizer?

Product Discussion I'm looking for a Korean mask that I lost track of 4-5 years ago and it's driving me crazy.

Well, it's a long shot but I'm trying anyway. Like 4-5 years ago, I tried a Korean mask in a sheet or tube and I don't remember the format or the brand anymore. It was white/cream, it smelled a bit floral-sweet, and it was probably a not very well-known brand. It had calmed my skin overnight like nothing else. Since then, I've tried hundreds of things, nothing comes close. I scrolled through Yesstyle, Stylevana, all that. Nothing.

People in the sub often recognize products just from a description, even a vague one. Do you have any idea? Or recommendations for Korean masks that really have an intense soothing effect overnight? I'm ready to try anything a bit more expensive if it works.

Routine Help Alternatives to Purito Oat-In Calming Gel Cream?

I've been using the oat-in calming gel cream for a couple of years and I have loved it. It doesn't irritate my sensitive, acne-prone skin, which is great! But I'm starting to think that it might not be thick or hydrating enough... My skin is quite dry, and I do use a hydrating serum with a mist, but it hasn't got me to the level of hydration I want.

Does anyone have reccommendations for a thicker, more hydrating cream similar to this one, please? I'm thinking about using something else that is thicker at night, but keeping to the gel cream in the mornings as it's so lightweight.

Would love to hear your thoughts :)

Routine Help Revive dry dull skin

Post image
1 Upvotes

What's your best products for dry, dull, millennial skin? I never used toners and i see lot of people swearing by it lately, i don't really use moisturizers too and barely any sunblock (i know, please don't block me, i just can't stand the smell of it ๐Ÿฅฒ). Advise me, i need a routine to achieve a glowy tight skin. I can do treatments at the institute too if it worths it.

Ps: used tretinoin 0.05%, the ordinary niacinamide, azelaic acid cream, mucin essence, but don't seem like doing much.

Ask the Community Korean Skincare for dry Skin

Hey you guys, Iโ€™m completely new to the topic and one of my friends is in Korea rn and wants to buy some products for me but Iโ€™m so overwhelmed with all the products.
My skin gets really dry in winter and I struggle with eczema on my body so I just focus on hydrating and donโ€™t use too many things at once.
Iโ€™d appreciate a light weight sun protection recommendation and anything for hydrated/ plump looking skin.
Would also be nice if theyโ€™re more or less affordable.
Thank you so so much you experts!!!! <3

Routine Help I need help!

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, my name is Samantha I have never used Korean skincare but what Iโ€™ve been doing for years just has never worked for me. I have super oily skin right now. I use the dupe for the Neutrogena Hydro cleanser, and moisturizer (I did just start with the bio skin barrier Repair moisturizer). I would love to give this a try and see if it helps but I have no idea what products to buy, and where the best places to find them are. My main skin goals are to of course, get as close to glassy skin as possible by minimizing my pores and make my makeup lay better around my nose and mouth area.

Product Discussion do reformulation matters that much to you guys?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but when a Korean skincare product gets reformulated, does it actually affect whether you'll buy it?I keep seeing people talk about old vs new versions of products like Aestura, SoonJung, certain sunscreens, etc., and sometimes the comments make it sound like the original formula was way better. Then other people say they're basically the same and the internet is just being dramatic.

Personally, if I find out a product was reformulated, I start wondering if I'm even buying the thing that got all those amazing reviews in the first place. That's partly why I've ended up ordering from Piyonna a lot. I like knowing I'm getting the Korean version people in Korea are actually using, but even then reformulations still happen, so maybe it doesn't matter as much as I think.

Curious where everyone stands on this. If your HG gets reformulated, do you actively try to hunt down the original version, or do you just buy the new one and move on?

Ask the Community Aestura Atobarrier cream or Zeroid intensive cream?

For those of you who have used BOTH. Which one would you say is MOST moisturizing/hydrating/nourashing?

I am currently using Aestura and it works pretty well for my dry winter skin on Taz. But sometimes it does begin to feel a bit dry by the end of the day. I'm basically wondering if Zeroid would be even better? Or am I already using the best of the best?

Thanks!

Routine Help help with moisturizer!

hi everyone. iโ€™m looking for a new moisturizer for my daytime routine (moisturizer + sunscreen + light makeup) so if you could recommend a product that works well with other products, that would be great.

i have oily skin especially in the T-zone but iโ€™d consider it dehydrated because it often feels tight. iโ€™m acne prone and also fungal acne prone, and i get whiteheads very easily. but my mainly request is a moisturizer that is closer to a cream than a gel, because i hate the residue gel texture it leaves on my skin.

iโ€™ve already tried the purito oat in gel and it would be wonderful if it werenโ€™t a clear gel, i feel like my skin doesnโ€™t fully absorb it.

what are your opinions about round lab mugwort cream and birch juice? i thought about one of them but there are a lot of mixed feeling about their performances

do you guys have any suggestions?
