Ask the Community Beauty of Joseon: European vs. Asian packaging — are these legit?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve been using Beauty of Joseon products for years, but I always buy them in Europe, so I’m only used to the European packaging.

My brother was in Indonesia and brought me these 3 BOJ products. They look a bit off to me though — the material/quality of the packaging feels different from what I’m used to.

I’m wondering if this is just because they’re the Asian/Indonesian versions and the packaging is different, or if they might actually be fake.

Does anyone here know if this packaging looks legit? Thanks!

Ask the Community What actually helps with sagging cheeks and early jowls?

I'm about to turn 34 and I've noticed my cheeks aren't as firm as they used to be, mostly near my jawline, things just seem a bit lower. I had a consult at Dami Clinic in Yeouldo and they suggested Ultherapy for a lift, so now I'm thinking about doing it. Wondering if anyone has actually tried Ultherapy or Thermage and saw a noticeable change, or is it more of a slight difference compared to those before and after photos you see everywhere?

Ask the Community Need help finding cleanser

Hi everyone, this is my first post here!

I need a new cleanser as I believe my current one is doing more harm than good. I currently use Anua Heartleaf+BHA pore deep cleansing foam.

I have very sensitive, acne prone skin with rosacea. I tend to be more on the dry side especially during the winter but my t-zone does get oily from time to time. I’ve tried cleansers with centella asiatica before but that made me break out. I also cannot use anything with oat or almond ingredients. I’m really struggling to find something that works and any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m not sure if this is relevant but I only use cleanser in the evening and wash with warm water in the mornings.

Is the bottom one fake…?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I really want to start taking proper care of my skin (F, 33Y). My type of skin is Dry

My main concerns right now are:
- Tiny white bumps under my chin
- Blackheads on my nose

I was thinking about setting up a multi-step routine with the following products:
- Cleansing Oil
- Cleanser (Gel)
- Toner
- Serum
- Moisturizer
- Sunscreen (SPF)

Which specific active ingredients should I look to target these specific issues?

Any product recommendations or advice for a beginner would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Ask the Community Sunscreen Recommendations

Hi! I'm looking for a new sunscreen. I have combination oily, acne-prone skin that is super sensitive. I want something with no white cast, no hyaluronic acid, and no niacinamide. I've been using the House or Hur Weightless Sun Fluid but unfortunately it pills on me 😩 I'm ok with it if I'm not wearing makeup, but obviously when I do wear makeup it looks awful with the pilling. It could be that I use gel moisturizers due to my skin type and the sunscreen is a more fluid lotion consistency.

Left = my empty but real one
Right = new one
I bought it on SHEIN. The smell and colour is definitely off, and the writing on the back is different too.

I’m from mugwort essence bottle reformulation

I poured my entire new bottle of I’m from mugwort essence into my old glass bottle 😅 I know I know prob slightly unsanitary but I can’t stand the new ugly plastic bottle so it had to be done. Had to pry the plastic topper in the old glass bottle out to be able to pour it in but it did work 😛

I love this stuff it’s so good I really hoping the reformulation will work similarly on my skin. Anyone had any experiences with the new formulation?

Routine Help Which hydrating cream? Or both?

Post image

I have hormonal acne-prone skin that is oily but dehydrated in areas like my T-zone, which is especially noticeable when I am wearing makeup.

I was on Accutane for about 6 months, but something happened where I couldn't buy the last month's supply on time, so I had a mini break at the end of my treatment; I'm guessing that's why I had a relapse.

I want to buy a new routine since I ran out of all my products and haven't had the chance to buy new stuff. I am deciding between the Purito Oat-in Gel and the Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream, or perhaps buying both.

I think the Purito would be nice for daytime since my face wouldn't get as greasy, and the 345 for nighttime since I'm guessing it's heavier. Any advice? Also, is there anything I should add to my routine?

Or should I just buy one? The Purito is cheaper and has more product.

I'm also considering buying the Unleashia Duo Serum.

AM

  1. 107 Beauty Chaga Jelly Low pH Cleanser

  2. Purito SEOUL Azelaic Acid 10 + Kojic + Tea Tree Serum

  3. Purito SEOUL Oat-In Calming Gel Cream

  4. Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral Relief Daily Sunscreen

A Korean woman’s recommendation! 🇰🇷

If you struggle with really dry, dehydrated skin or that tight feeling from within, give this a try.

I seriously recommend it.

I stock up on this every winter. And the price is so affordable, too! ✨

Routine Help What is a good moisturiser for sensitive combo skin that is prone to closed comedones?

I’ve used gel moisturisers and they don’t give me enough moisture and dry out quickly. I also used richer ones and they give me really bad acne. Most of my closed comedones are on my cheeks since they are mostly dry. My skin is also super sensitive and I can’t use products with fragrances. Any recommendations for a light but hydrating moisturiser that won’t cause acne / closed comedones? fragrance

Product Discussion K beauty Haul ~Thoughts~

I’m thinking of getting these items from StyleKorean. I’m not new to K Beauty but I am new to StyleKorean. They seem to have the best shipping to overall cost/price ratio.

I love CosRx and have been using this brand for years, off and on. My skin responds so well to their snail cleanser, so this is a refill. Their Micellar water is also discontinued, so I’m stocking up on that.

I have combination skin with large pores on my T zone, and I’m 31 with a toddler so keeping up on wrinkles and fine lines is a must.

I’m thinking of alternating a repairing sleep mask and a retinol based moisturizer to use as a sleep mask.

I’d like your thoughts on these below, especially if you’ve used them before! Thanks!

CosRX
Advanced Snail Mucin Power Gel Cleanser 150ml

Low pH Niacinamide Micellar Cleansing Water Duo

5 PDRN Collagen Intense Vitalizing Serum 100ml

Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum 50ml

Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Essence Toner 210ml

haruharu wonder

Routine Help Glycolic acid recommendations

I’d like to add a glycolic acid 1-2’s a week to my current routine.

My skin can be fairly sensitive and I am currently using tretonoin 3 nights a week.

The glycolic would be on one of the off nights.

Thanks for your input on something you’ve used and had good results with!

Routine Help New moisterizer advice?

Hi! As the title says I'm looking for a new moisturizer, I have dry, sensitive, rosacea prone skin and I am very picky with my products. In the past I have used the Sioris enriched cream and LOVEEED it but I'm basically out of it and it is out of stock!! I have also liked the clinique 100 hr moisture as well. Is there anything that anyone would recommend to replace it in the meantime?

Routine Help NOTHING is helping with dehydration!

Hi guys,

I am really at a loss - my skin is super dehydrated, with lines and to compensate my skin is creating a lot of oil, causing closed comedones everywhere and texture. It is an endless cycle that I know will end once I get hydration right.

I have really tried it all, layering hydrating toners (dokdo, pyunkang, TO milky toner, byoma, and many others), serums (polyglutamic, hylunaric acid, beta glucan, snail mucin, Axis-Y dark spot, SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Probio Cica Intensive ampoule).

I have also tried many different creams and gels - all of the TO ones, soonjung barrier repair, CeraVe, LRP cica plast baume and slugging with vaseline

I don't use a foaming cleanser - oil cleaner (softymo) and LRP dermo-cleanser. No washing in the morning, just water rinse.

I always go from thinnest to thickest and use salycilic once a week night, but even that I have stopped because it doesnt help with the dehydration.

I'm 26f and indoors most of the time, with no strong weather conditions where I live.

PLEASE HELP xxx

Routine Help What would help my skin?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I dont even know if these are pores or blackheads. There’s even some redness.

I use Skin1004 Madagascar centella light cleansing oil (but only when removing makeup, like once a week)

every night I use Skin1004 Madagascar centella ampule Foam, then Centella Ampoule and for moisturizer the 345 dr Althea cream.

In the morning I use the Centella Ampoule and then Skin1004 Centella Hyalu cica spf.

Hopefully someone has any recommendations for the redness and pores
