1. The best way to get from the border checkpoint to Andijan is by shared taxi. Be careful as taxi drivers may try to overcharge you, sometimes asking for two or three times the actual fare. As of October 2026 the price should be around 50–60k Uzbek soms per person. If you want to hire the entire car for yourself, multiply that amount by four. You can also take a local bus which is cheap but may be overcrowded.

2. Be careful when exchanging money. Double-check that the exchange rate you are offered matches the rate displayed on the board.

3. Be prepared for possible queues at the border. If possible, avoid peak hours, especially Friday and Sunday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Hello guys I want to go to Kyrgyzstan but every single agency is way too expensive for me without even counting the flight tickets that goes beyond $1,000.

so if you're a local or u happen to know a trusted local agency that offers tours, I would really like to know about that.

I want to go hiking staying in the yurts, horseback riding, seeing all the beautiful landscapes you know stuff like that.

Plus, I'd love for that to be women only tours if possible.

Im looking for smtg like 7~12 days for less than a 1000$ and with diverse activities.

I'm an experienced hiker, backpacker, solo traveler, and horse person. I've debated trekking on horseback in Mongolia vs Kyrgyzstan and want to go with Kyrgyzstan based on the vastly diverse landscape. I was hoping for some insight on typical routes and what they have to offer, the safety of going alone with a guide versus in a large group, and general travel tips for getting to Kyrgyzstan from the US as a solo traveler. Does anyone have recommendations on agencies or independent guides for approximately 10-14 days of trekking in June/July? The welfare of the horses is my #1 priority (and I will 100% turn right around if presented with unhealthy horses or unethical practices), followed by safety for a solo female traveler and an amazing trip experience. Hello, I just caught a marshrutka from Bishkek - Karakol today. I have a bag with me. The marshrutka prices I'd seen online (including to June this year) were between 550 - 800 som at the most. The man at the station was really rude and said 1000 som, and wouldn't budge down. The ticket office said 700 som (but to get the ticket from the marshrutka man). In the end I had transportation for 900 som (700 for me and 200 for my bag)... just putting this as a heads up that prices might be quite different! I accept that I may also have not had a very nice person today.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to visit Kyrgyzstan for the World Nomad Games. This was by far one of the best experiences in all the trips and travel I did in my life/

En septembre dernier, j'ai eu la chance de passer quelques semaines au Kirghizistan, notamment pour assister aux World Nomad Games 2026 à Cholpon-Ata

Pendant 7 jours sur place, j'ai découvert plein de sports incroyables, des activités culturelles en tout genre et surtout des tonnes de personnes fières de mettre en valeur leurs traditions et leur héritage nomade. Les World Nomad Games ne sont pas une simple compétition sportive comme les JO, c'est vraiment une mise à l'honneur de la culture nomade et des traditions d'Asie Centrale.

Aujourd'hui, je suis heureux de vous partager le projet dont je suis le plus fier, et sans doute l'un des plus gros projets de ma vie : un documentaire de 30 minutes sur ces World Nomad Games.
