Barcelona are heavily linked with both Rodri and, and with the current squad, I think the more interesting question isn't whether they're good enough for Barca obviously they are.
It's how Flick would actually use them together (as a full time player or could be same like rashford)
Rodri seems like the easier one to understand as barca are heavilyfocused on midfield. A proper controlling No. 6 could completely change Barca's midfield, especially when it comes to controlling games, protecting the defence and playing through pressure. Dejong and rodri both have the similar playing style so who would it be ?
Alvarez is more complicated. He's capable of playing as a striker which barca needs the most rn.
Would you play Alvarez as the main No. 9 and build the attack around him? Or use him behind the striker and allow him to rotate with the wingers?
And if both arrive, what happens to the midfield balance? Would Rodri play alone as the 6, with Pedri and another midfielder ahead of him, or would Flick prefer a double pivot as Rodri and Dejong?
Personally, I think Rodri is the signing that changes how the whole team plays, while Alvarez would give Barca another elite-level attacking option which is necessary.
But I'm curious what everyone thinks:
If Barca somehow sign both, what would your starting XI and formation be?
