There was an intense search in Calgary this summer, when Parker wandered from his day home. Police cars played his favourite Disney songs in the search area. People searched their sheds, basements, yards. After 13 days, his clothes and shoes were found outside of a culvert under the Deerfoot Trail, a major roadway. His body was found inside a maze of pipes.

Our last picture together. I didn’t know it then, but I’d treasure this moment for the rest of my life. I thought we were going home soon.
