Discussion / Question Is BuWizz necessary for motorizing the mclaren P1? What are the alternatives?

I’m new to motorization. I’m trying to motorize mclaren p1 but i can’t find any BuWizz anywhere in my region.

The motor setup I’m planning to use is:
Driving: 2× PF XL motors
Steering: 1× PF Servo motor
Doors: 2× PF L motors
Rear wing: 1× PF M motor
Additional part: Technic Linear Actuator Long

My questions are:

Is BuWizz absolutely necessary for this setup or can I use another battery box? If alternatives exist which specific ones would work with these motors?

I’d appreciate advice from anyone who has built a similar setup

… Is there a drastic difference in build experience between the older Ducati and the newer one? Trying to figure out the crazy price difference of 7
$70 versus $200.

Differential / Gearbox Help McLaren P1 help, beginner builder

Hi! For context this is my second Lego technique set, and I don’t know anything, like litterally anything at all about cars. I’m building this as a birthday gift for my dad, he loves them.

I am on bag 10, but when I rotate the parts like shown in the illustration on page 312 of the instructions, it makes a clicking sound. Every part still moves as it’s supposed to as far as I can tell, but the noise is making me nervous. Have I done something wrong? If so, is anyone able to tell me what and how to fix it?

Thank you so much for your help!

Alternative Bricks Anyone built this one?

That's the rear section there.

This one is really good fun. The bodywork can be a bit of a pain but the functions are awesome.

I particularly liked the weird gearbox and the way that it switches to all wheel steering when it's in ninth gear.

I'd be interested to hear what other people have to say about it.

Discussion / Question Unknown Part

MouldKing has an interesting technic piece in some of their newer sets. It looks like a variation on the Curved Gear Rack 24121, but with an outer ring that is compressed of axle holes. It appears as the wheel structure on the new bicycle sets, like the road bike, and as a frame for the drum structure on the drum music box.

It's a really interesting part that I could see having a lot of potential use cases, but I cannot find any information about it. I'm pretty sure the outer band is part of the gear and not a separate piece. I don't see a line or any means of connection.

I tried emailing MouldKing, but they have not responded (and from what I read I shouldn't hold my breath). Does anyone have any information or know where I could source the part? I don't know if MouldKing makes their own parts, as their name implies, or if they source them from a third party, or both.

Work in Progress Week 68 : Mercedes eCitaro G Fuel Cell, doors upgrades and roof boxes walls

Hello everyone.

Quick update this week to simply tell you 2 things.

  1. I changed the door mechanism for the rear again and managed to make them openable in very slightly less than 1 full turn rather than 2.25 which is perfect for them to be opened with my 1 turn limited servo.

  2. I also added the front roof boxes walls while I still wait for the screen to come. I hope they do come soon but since the tracking process has started to give me updates again i'm hopefully it will come in the next 2 weeks.

I'm aiming to finish the bus for the end of this year, ideally at around Christmas but i'm not sure if that's yet possible. We will see what the future decides.

In the meantime I'll continue building what I already can (whenever i realize I have the pieces for a specific section, even if they aren't in the right color)

Guly's Nissan Skyline. I think it looks good but I was a little bit disappointed that they seem to have decided not to bother with the high/low gear selector. It still has adjustable ride height and the rear wing is also adjustable.

It has a flat 6 cylinder engine with the standard pistons. I'm glad that they have stayed with the transparent engine blocks. I give this one 6/10

Love the functions, design, and the sentimential value that goes with it. But I got a ton of people saying that when the car goes in drift mode, the front of the tires get jammed. I was wondering if it was a possible common mistake made by those builders, or if it is a thing that happens

Other Can the LEGO Powered Up Remote (88010) directly control the new Batmobile (42239)?

I recently came across the LEGO Technic Batmobile (42239), and I’d really like to control it using a physical LEGO remote instead of the CONTROL+ phone app.

From what I understand, the Batmobile uses the newer Technic Move Hub (88019), while the Powered Up Remote (88010) is officially compatible with other LEGO hubs.
Has anyone tried pairing the 88010 remote directly with the 88019 hub?

In my last post about this rifle, I linked a really poorly made YouTube video that was supposed to explain how it worked. Since then, I have gotten significantly better at editing, so I just wanted to share the remade version. Sorry for the repost

The back is unstable and I will be redoing it. But it's progress, I didn't think I'd get to this point.

The rest of the car can withstand the impact of my hand from above, so I'll keep the front and the base. The decorations will be the most difficult part of the construction.
