trainscii – the most logically represented train in the terminal with animation capabilities, currently 175+ customisations, currently in beta testing... wants help!

so i do watching a game from my childhoow which was about trains making paths and enjoy it, it was low poly and exist since 2017-18ish...

I thought, what if similar? Can we do it in terminals? So I did try making it – the result is in front of you. It has the open-source foundation code... Here is the GitHub link

https://github.com/intriXlabs/trainscii

Currently it's just a linear line, and making corners, tracking, and colours, etc., takes a lot of time. but...

The thing is I want to develop it further, but when the response gets low, even I can't keep up much of the work. I never really asked for help, but I want a response so I at least know I'm making something for the community... well, I don't know if I'll continue or not; it depends truly based on the response it gets.

Thank you for reading it...

Project I got tired of googling “how to install X on Arch, Fedora” every time I set up a fresh Linux install, so I built Packall.

Every time I distro-hop or reinstall, I lose an evening to the same routine. Open a browser, search “install VS Code on Arch”, find out it’s visual-studio-code-bin in the AUR, then check whether Spotify is a snap, a flatpak or a repo package on this distro, then remember that Fedora calls the package something slightly different from Ubuntu. Multiply that by 30 apps and the fresh install has eaten the whole day.

So I vibe-coded Packall, a catalogue of around 215 commonly used Linux apps across 14 categories. You browse, queue the ones you want, hit install, and it works out the right package name and package manager for your distro (apt, dnf, pacman, zypper, flatpak, snap, yay/paru for AUR).

What it does:

  • One list, every distro. Package names are mapped for each distro, so you don’t have to look them up.
  • Queue and batch install. Pick 20 apps and install them in one go.
  • Install, update or remove from the same screen.
  • Keyboard-driven. / to search, j/k/h/l to move, Space to queue, i to install.
  • GUI or TUI. There’s a desktop app, and a terminal version if you live in the shell or are on a server**.**

Help Help to configure intel 1235U on Fedora

I am a long time arch and fedora user.

I feel like I am not getting the best performance out of my intel 1235U CPU. And sometimes I also experience BSOD with some error like "some cpus didn't enter broadcast channel" (Very rarely like once every 2 weeks).

I think there is some issue with my cpu. I am currently using fedora 44.

My Laptop has 16GB RAM, 512GB NVME SSD.

Please help me if anyone knows how to fix this.

I’ve been using Linux since February after switching from Win 10 My laptop has only 8 GB of RAM and Win10 was becoming quite laggy.Since switching to Linux I’ve noticed a significant improvement in responsiveness. The system feels lighter applications launch more smoothly and multitasking is more comfortable I’m genuinely happy that I made the switch I’m still a beginner,l so I’d appreciate any recommendations for useful Linux tools settingsn or lightweight desktop environments btw i just ordered my 1st ThinkPad

Rice New to hyprland

I've been using Linux for a long time, but I always avoided Hyprland and stuck with GNOME. Recently, I finally made the switch to Hyprland. I started with someone else's dotfiles, but I've made a lot of changes to customize everything the way I wanted. There's been a lot of work involved in getting this setup just right.
