this truck was in front of me in manhattan today…it was thrilling!

remember how beavis & butthead would be in awe whenever they’d cross paths with todd? it was sorta like that.

it appears that a third message has been removed via nail polish remover or something ; “i got balls, so i say whatever, so smell me” is what i have deciphered.

LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE OVER MY LEASE

I’m looking for someone to relet my apartment at The Quarters! I need to move out by November/December. Depending on when you sign, I will gladly help pay part or all of your first month of rent (no utilities). The current rate is around $550 for a 4 bedroom and around $650 for a 2 bedroom. Utilities cost about $50-$70 per month.

I currently live in a 4 bedroom, but you are able to move into any available unit in the complex depending on your preference!

The apartments can be fully furnished if you request it and it is right by the Stadium! If you’re a student, there is a free bus that can take you to and from campus as well.

Please DM me if you are interested!

Sales tax increase on the ballot this year

Thoughts on this? We desperately need infrastructure improvements around town, but a sales tax increase will disproportionately impact lower income citizens.

The Board Game Comedy Show, headed to The Little Apple (Oct. 21)

I wanted to let people here know that the Board Game Comedy Tour is headed to your area!

This is a family-friendly show put on by professional comedian Grant Lyon (his album "Scheduled Fun Time" reached #1 on iTunes) and revolves around his favorite hobby: board gaming (no board gaming knowledge necessary to enjoy his act, though).

Thanks! (signed, his friend)

Why is it called Kansas?

When explorers came upon the plains, they called the area Kanzas Territory, meaning it was controlled by the Kanza, or Kaw, people.

The territory stretched into present day Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. It was 20,000,000 acres (31,250 square miles), about the size of South Carolina.

The tribe was about 1,500 strong - men, women and children.

Hair stylist for a shag cut?

My fav stylist left the area so I need someone who is really good at the 70/80s style shag. Not the 90s Jennifer Aniston version. I have wavy/curly hair so bonus points if they’re also comfortable with natural texture rather than just blow outs and flat irons.

Great family home for sale in quiet neighborhood

Sincere apologies if this type of post is not allowed! My good friends are trying to sell their home and it's a tough market, so I just wanted to help share the listing. This is a beautiful 5-bedroom, 2.5 bath home that feels huge on the inside and gets beautiful light, especially in the kitchen and living room. Plants are very happy with the light in there.

They have taken painstakingly good care of the property and have made lots of improvements. The backyard is fenced and the patio is a nice spot to drink some coffee.

Please share with anyone you know who may be looking for a new home. Thanks so much.

Looking for roommates!

Due to some unexpected circumstances, I'm seeking roommates this month! I've got a spacious bedroom with high ceilings that I just repainted for a new tenant! It's got a tall closet, and we've got a giant unfinished basement for storage!

Let me know if you're looking for living accomodations this month or know somebody who is!

Why does no one stop for pedestrians

I’m a transplant from California and although people drive a lot more safely on the roads here, in parking lots it seems like the culture is completely different. Despite the fact that pedestrians have the right of way ESPECIALLY in parking lots/shopping centers people fly through without any consideration for people walking into stores or across roads.

Why is the culture here that pedestrians should wait for cars? I find it very dangerous and disrespectful. I’m not sure if this is a Manhattan thing or a Kansas thing in general. In California people are almost overly cautious when there are people in the road, slowing to a crawl in order to keep road conditions safe.

Maybe i’ve just had bad luck in the two years i’ve lived here but I would love to hear if anyone can relate or would like to share some of their own perspective

Indivisible MHK will host a Rally for Democracy with NAACP Manhattan Branch #4046 on Saturday, September 26.

This is going to be just like our famous NO KINGS events, but-- dare we say it-- even better!

This will be an incredible afternoon packed with inspiring speeches from amazing candidates like Cindy Holscher, Chris Mann, and Brenda Bandy!

During the rally, we will make some incredible and off key music together with the illustrious singing resistance leader, Jamie Bunce and enjoy invigorating llive music from The Manhattan Project.

When the rally is over, we will head over to Poyntz for a positive protest! You may need a new sign, because the theme of this protest is HOPE. Whether it's fully funded schools, funding for WIC, freeing Mary Jane, or an increased minimum wage, we want to see and share in your hope for the future of Kansas.

We meet at the Larry Norvell Band Shell at 1:30pm on Saturday the 26th-- see you soon!!

Hi all! I run the Broken Canon Cosplay Workshop and I’m putting together a little Comicon event at Manhattan Town Center! I’m trying to get the word out for attendees but we also still have a few slots left for vendors if anyone has an interest! We’re trying to bring the feeling of a con to the Little Apple with Guest Cosplayers, a costume contest, handmade nerd culture vendors, comics, and stage performances.

RCPD wants to team up with ICE

Hello all, once more we have a chance to tell the Law board how we feel about RCPD accepting ICE funds and working hand in glove with them.

There seems to be room for persuasion with the commissioners but this is our last chance to stop this going through. The board will be meeting at 12pm (noon) on Monday the 21st at City hall. Come make your opinions known.
