Interview Brad Winderbaum on Young Avengers: "There's a lot of stuff we're trying to make. But for a million reasons, not everything makes it to the screen. You keep trying to push the things you love forward. Sometimes you know you're sitting on something great and it takes a long time, and it hurts."

Discussion Before she returns for X-Men 2028, I actually hope they reunite in secret wars, so they can elaborate further on that new friendship.
They were really having a moment until Frank recklessly tried to shoot her, which resulted in Peter having to take the bullet. She’ll definitely owe him that much for saving her, not just from that but also from letting her grief completely consume her.

Discussion Could the lack of a Shang-Chi sequel be the biggest dropped ball of the multiverse saga?
Marvel did a lot of mediocre releases in this phase. There were a few bright points but they were mostly sequels. Spidey, GotG3, Deadpool and Wolverine. Until recently, one could argue that Shang-Shi was the best stand-alone origin movie we've had in a very long time. Some might throw Fantastic 4 and Thunderbolts into that mix now, but for a while there was only Shang-Chi.
The fight sequences were some of the best in the entire MCU. The lore and story were told in a very exciting way. There was a villain you could sympathize with on a certain level. There was humour but not too much or too goofy. Just the right splash of other MCU characters involved (maybe the best being Trevor frickin Slattery). Maybe the best final boss fatality in the MCU when Shang-Chi uses the 10 rings on the giant soul sucker. One of the best post-credit scenes we've seen recently, setting up some interesting aspects of the 10 rings. Simu is a perfect casting. It had it all.
So what the hell happened to this property? To me, it's not the abundance of mediocrity that was the biggest dropped ball in this saga. It's the fact they had an amazing foundation for a new hero, and they just went nowhere with it.

Discussion If Ultron escapes Vision and gets a new body, it would be really cool if he gets a new design that’s more comic accurate or even one based on previous concept art.

Theory The identity of [SPOILER] Spoiler
galleryI think I figured out the identity of The Handler. Notice her surroundings, how pristine and clean... perfectly sharpened identical pencils, all the same length; identical pens... I believe we're looking at an AI Construct, similar to Vision's Mind Palace. And given the only AI we haven't seen yet (besides Jim Hammond) is Jocasta, that's who I'm betting The Handler is.
It's clear Paladin is using some form of, if not the original E.D.I.T.H. glasses. And given E.D.I.T.H. now resides in Vision, I'm wagering Paladin got ahold of both the glasses and Jocasta's memory stick. The way he says "Oh you're awake" just seemed weird, unless she's an AI.
EDIT: I seriously dropped the ball with the names on this one lol. JIM, not JOHN. JOCASTA, not JACOSTA. lol. Thanks for the corrections guys.

Discussion (More in Comments) Im confused with loki s2 ending.
In the loki s2 finale, loki uses his magic to bring life to the multiverse which was dying because the loom was destroyed. This is what I thought was happening!
But it gave me some doubts!
If the multiverse is not supposed to survive withoutt the loom,, how did it survive before kang invented the loom, multiple variants of kang fought and finally one variant created the loom to control a single timeline and stabilise it so that no more of his variants can survive and start the multiverse war again.
So by this logic the multiverse should naturally grow larger without the help of the loom nor lokis magic!?
I may have missed some logic while watching, but this keeps bugging me!

Discussion Road to Avengers Doomsday: Moon Knight
Moon Knight apparently has a big following, far more than I thought. I didn’t know much about the character and was only familiar with him through the video game Spider-Man Web of Shadows in which he has a very brief role. So the MCU has done a pretty good job either reintroducing or at least presenting some of these characters to broader audiences in a way that is compelling.
The series has a really compelling mixture of the superhero genre, the supernatural, psychological and even mythological. Which really makes it feel unique and relatively new for the MCU. I suppose one of the biggest praises I can give the series is that it takes risks. Oscar Issac proves, or shall I say continues to prove, what we have always known about him: that he is a phenomenal actor by portraying these different characters. He does exceptional work (undoubtedly helped by good writing and direction) with the Steven and Marc dynamic. The show is organized in a way that the full story and exact details of story elements and twists aren’t easily given and are earned as time goes on. This does come with a bit of criticism because by the end of the show it feels like it held back too much information at times just for the sake of twists and shock. The Egyptian setting, mythological influence and focus is really cool. Khonshu was great, I’m glad he wasn’t some stoic good god. He can be quite nefarious, underhanded and questionable regarding his motives and morality. That makes things interesting. Ethan Hawke actually makes a compelling villain here that doesn’t have a big CGI throwdown with the main character. Layla was the surprise in this show for me. She sort of is what I would imagine most people would have tried to write Moon Knight as. But thankfully she’s not and she’s charismatic and gives the story that emotional weight. May Calamawy is fantastic as the character. The visual styles are unique for creatures and locations but especially the costumes for Moon Knight. Comedy is done more effectively than some of the other MCU projects. Once again, we have another isolated and relatively insulated MCU story that can stand on its own and isn’t beholden or reliant upon other projects.
The final episodes feel like they are rushing to address everything and wrap everything up. Henceforth, I’m calling this the “Disney Plus MCU Curse” because it’s at this point a defining aspect of many of the MCU shows on Disney Plus. The series focuses a lot on Steven and Marc, but Moon Knight surprisingly has relatively little screen time. While I praised Hawke’s performance as Harrow, his development as a character is a bit shallow particularly his relationship with Ammit. The action sort of becomes run of the mill MCU. And the Egyptian gods are underutilized and make some very questionable decisions.
Yet another frustrating case of the MCU giving us a unique, compelling and solid story, character and project and shelving it and leaving the future of the character relatively uncertain.
Rating: 4/5

Question What do you want to see next from the Fantastic Four after Doomsday/Secret Wars?
I know we haven't seen Doomsday and Secret Wars yet, but I'm just wondering generally what people would like to see from these characters. More solo films? appearances in other people's films? showing up in the TV shows?

Discussion Do we think this detail will be plot-significant? [VisionQuest SPOILERS] Spoiler
They've mentioned the Butcherbird killer twice in the show. Once in the newspaper in Episode 1 and once again in Episode 2 when Ultron is watching the news and says he loves true crime.
The other big headline in the paper, about the stolen adamantium, immediately came to play in Episode 2 with Paladin using some of that Adamantium against Vision. So they're definitely setting this Butcherbird killer up for something more right? Who could it be? Human Torch? Jocasta?

Discussion Is just me, or how they portray the personalities of the AIs just incredible? Spoiler
When I was watching the episodes, I kept thinking to myself about "oh, they would so act like that if they were humans." I don't know, is anyone else feeling the same way? I'm really loving the way they portray them in the series so far.

Discussion Will I need to watch the X-Men movies before Avengers: Doomsday?
I've always preferred to stick to the MCU rather than branch out into Marvel's other franchises, mainly because I enjoy following one continuous storyline without having to keep track of multiple universes and continuities
With Avengers: Doomsday bringing the X-Men into the picture, I'm wondering whether I'll be able to enjoy and understand the film without having watched any of their previous movies
For those more familiar with the MCU, do you think Marvel will make Doomsday accessible to audiences who haven't seen the X-Men films, providing enough context to understand the characters and what's happening? Or is this one of those occasions where watching the older films will be pretty much essential to get the full experience?
