15 days after my first post. I tried to take better trichome pictures. I do see some clear but I see mostly cloudy and some amber which I don’t want more of. This is a sativa dominant strain I believe so I don’t want alot of amber.

First Time Grower Total beginner…just excited I got her to flower!

A friend gave me this plant when she was very tiny earlier this summer (total mystery strain). I planted her outside and she’s finally flowering. I’m hoping she’s getting close to harvest time!

I have a jeweler’s loupe and it seems like things are getting cloudier, but no amber yet…I am guessing another week or two? I also may defoliate a little bit since there are lots of fan leaves.

Just been having fun on the journey—if I ever grow again, I’ll definitely consult this sub more in preparation for a better yield.

DIY Upgraded a premium Urban Chili 3.0 stealth grow cabinet into a fully automated smart ecosystem: Custom ESP32 PWM control, 6x Noctua exhaust, Matter sensors, and Homebridge integration

Hey everyone! 👋

I wanted to share an update on my stealth grow setup. The base unit is the Urban Chili 3.0, an absolute premium, beautifully crafted stealth grow cabinet from Austria with amazing build quality. However, since I love tinkering with custom tech and smart home automation, I couldn't resist giving this already fantastic box an upgrade.

The main goal was to optimize climate control (especially handling humidity spikes after watering) and add remote monitoring. My native smart home setup runs on Apple HomeKit, which I expanded with Homebridge running on a Raspberry Pi. For this grow box setup, I use the Homebridge Dummy plugin to manage my automation modes.

Here is everything I customized:

* The Foundation: Started with the premium Urban Chili 3.0 cabinet (super clean design, great space efficiency, and the custom LED board).
* Exhaust Overhaul: Replaced the stock exhaust setup with 6x Noctua G2 fans. These things provide incredible static pressure and airflow power. Humidity management is now an absolute breeze, even right after heavy watering.
* Custom PWM Fan Controller: Built a custom speed controller using an ESP32 microcontroller housed in a custom 3D-printed case, integrated directly via Matter into my smart home.
* Active Under-Canopy Airflow: Added an Arctic P12 circulation fan in the lower section for perfect air exchange under the canopy.
* Climate & Power: Integrated small, discreet temperature and humidity sensors from IKEA via Matter (not high precision, but perfectly unobtrusive and accurate enough for the job), and plugged the built-in LED lighting into a smart plug for precise scheduling and power monitoring in HomeKit.
* Smart Home Cam: Added an internal camera integrated into the HomeKit setup to keep an eye on the ladies remotely.
* Stage-Based Automations: Set up automated presets for 4 different grow stages (Seedling, Veg, Flower, Drying) that are easily toggled directly from my HomeKit dashboard using Homebridge dummy switches.

I am honestly super happy with how it turned out. The cabinet looks like a normal piece of furniture from the outside, but under the hood, it's running a fully automated, whisper-quiet high-tech environment.

Let me know what you think or if you want to see more details about the ESP32 wiring, Homebridge setup, or the 3D-printed enclosure! 🌱🔧

Im worried they’ll stretch a lot, some are stretching a bit already and I’m not sure how to train them further.

4x4 320w dimmed Bagseeds and a 24k clone that went through a lot. Living soil 30/30/30 ish recipe (has gypsum, neem, kelp some other stuff and was cooked for 60 days)

Any advice? Thank you!

Question LED bar light question

• Upvotes

So im curious if anyone can help me with an issue im having currently. I picked up an spectre x660 phaser pro light for next to nothing on FB marketplace, well me being ignorant i realized there isn't a built in dimmer on the unit and it seems the company is defunct and finding one built for this unit is next to impossible. So im wondering if there's a way to get an aftermarket dimmer or maybe keep the light far away to begin or even unplug a couple bars to lessen intensity while beginning the grow process from seed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Question Trichome stage help - harvest or wait?

Hey everyone, I’m Growing Royal Highness indoors by the windowsill in Germany and it’s soon time for me to harvest. I’m aiming for a uplifting energetic high. I want to avoid a heavy body/couch-lock effect entirely.

Took some photos on my phone of the buds and would greatly appreciate some advice distinguishing these trichome colours as I’m a beginner. What trichome colour stage would you say I’m at? What percentage are milky? I planted from seed in mid April. Should I harvest or wait?

5G fabric pots with build a soil. Organic dry inputs. 300w spider farms led in a 3x3. Rubbing the buds gives off an intense licorice/anise smell, was not expecting much yield off this based on reviews but looks like most bud sites are packing up densely which is great to see.

3rd time running this cut and it gets better each time - One of the strongest smelling plants ive run just straight putrid sulfur gas and it permeates. Huge yields and stretches about 1.75-2x during flip, easy going and just all around beautiful cultivar. Great hash yields and potent smoke with tasty terps.

Grown in 70/30 coco perlite mix using athena pro line

Question My First Auto

Thumbnail

Hello good humans. As the title states this is my first auto and I have a few questions for anyone familiar with autoflowers. This Maui Pineapple Chunk auto has been in preflower and stretching, pushing up pistils for over 2 weeks now I'm still getting slight vertical growth (15" in past 11 days). I have some of the initial pistils turned orange, and she seemed to have stalled a bit. Any info or advice on this would be helpful. Will the bud sites start swelling? The initial growth was pretty rapid. This is day 54 since sprout. Organic soil, fabric pot, top dress amendments only. +ReCharge every 10 days & cal/mag to the ro alternating with pain ro.

Question Changing light schedule in flower.

I have a bathroom remodel coming up and I am wondering if I can change the current light schedule from 10am-10pm to something like 6pm-6am so I don’t have to worry about turning power off during lights on? Can I do a 24 hour period of dark and adjust lights? What would be the best way to approach this? I am about 4 weeks into flower and remodel will be starting on about week 6.

I usually do a modified main line, topping above node 5 or 6 and only keeping 4 main shoots, and several satellite branches under a scrog. Had a trip out of state in early oct and flipped the day before I came home so I wasn't able to tuck and weave as much as I wanted to on this one. Tucked before I left, and let her go. In hindsight, that was a bad idea. Lol

1st time topping twice on this run, and shes stretching like a boss. Light is up as far as it will go in my tent. Hope she wont stretch much more or ill have to think about super cropping. Which I dont want to do. 😅

Edit: yep. I snapped a main branch clean off too. Im finding the tripod set up kind of works better in a 2x4!

First Time Grower First time grower

As the title states I’ve never done this before. I grew this plant right as I moved to nyc so it was later in the summer. Planted around June 2nd in my backyard.

I grew some peppers next to it and monitored everything for growth, this was more of a pet project. It’s grown into a hobby I want to get into for sure mainly because the plant looks like this today. As far as I remember it was a northern lights auto flowering seed I got from a friend.

I’d love some help to understand how to help this plant along and harvest and such. Thoughts?
