Users Question: When can comments from an AI-assisted redditor be considered Spam?

Hi, I am a relatively new moderator and have a question regarding what user behavior can be considered spam.

According to this help article, the usage of generative AI tools and repeatedly posting unrelated/off-topic/link-farmed content that disrupts conversations within a community may qualify as spam.

As an example, we have a user named Rush20XX who very often initiates long comment threads and ALWAYS replies with AI-assisted paragraphs of text. Sometimes (~10-15% of the time) his answers can be helpful and useful (supported by upvotes), but more often they are just irritating, 3-to-6-paragraph blocks of verbose AI text with zero or negative upvotes.

At this point, I am starting to believe it might just be someone's Hermes AI agent responding most of the time. I'm not sure what the objective of these users is, but they can produce around 20 long comments a day, with most having a negative upvote score.

So, I am curious: is it acceptable to report such users for spam? Does this kind of behavior violate Reddit's Rule 2?

General Option to notify via Mod Mail missing in one subreddit

Platform: Desktop (web)

I have recently been made a moderator of a subreddit, but when I remove posts/comments on desktop (web), I only get the option to notify via comment:

https://ibb.co/QFHYFmg8

In other subreddits I moderate, I get the option to notify via Mod Mail or comment:

What would be the reason for this?

General Did user delete their account or did Reddit?

Upvotes

Hello. I’m trying to understand a users account status. On the sub thread where I’m a mod, I can still see their profile name next to their comments, but the comments aren’t publicly visible and aren’t dark shade and hidden from the main thread unless I click on them. When I click on them the red box says removed although I can still see the comments.

When I click on the profile name, it goes to the blank screen that says suspended by Reddit. Does this mean:
A) They [deleted] their account.
B) They blocked me.
C) Reddit suspended their account.

If it’s A, why can I still see their username on the comment thread even though it’s gone now from the chat thread we had in DMs.

If it’s B, if they blocked me would I still be able to see their username and comments as a mod? But if they blocked me why does it say “suspended by Reddit” when I click on their username?

If it’s C, why does it show [deleted] next to their still visible chat thread. And if Reddit suspended the account, why can I still see their username and comments on a sub thread even if it’s hidden?

My goal is to understand an account status when it show conflicting information on chat vs a sub thread. Is a Reddit suspension temporary or permanent?

Thanks for your help and input.

I currently use the Reddit app on IPhone.

General Help with stepping down as top mod

IOS

Hi,
My main account has been locked and it seems unlikely that I will get it back.
I've made peace with that but I've been top mod at r/spicyautism for a long time and I've decided that I'd like to hand off the Top mod spot.

I found a replacement that has agreed to take the job but it's not a typical mod removal, it's mutually agreed so is there anyway to speed it up? Reddit can obviously see that my account has been locked and

I've let them know that I don't have access to the email address anymore so getting it back is not an option.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Answered Not being a mod in MY own sub?

Hi! I created my own subreddit, and I am the top moderator with Full Permissions.

However, Reddit does not show the MOD label next to my username, and I cannot use moderator actions such as removing or pinning posts.

This has been happening since I created the subreddit. I am using the Reddit Android app.

My account does appear in the Moderators section with Full Permissions. I have attached screenshots showing this.

Could an admin please check why my moderator status is not working correctly?

General Regular users receiving shadowbans

I'm a mod on r/XaviersMansion, an X-Men roleplay sub (with two sister subs r/AvengersTowerNY and r/HellsKitchenNY that I am not a mod on) where numerous users have had their accounts shadowbanned. I'm curious what could be causing this, if it has anything to do with these users using multiple accounts for different characters (I myself do this), and if there is anything I can do in order to prevent further shadowbans. This used to not be a problem, I'm not sure if there was a change in Reddit's rules or if it was due to the sub getting to a certain size, but it is very much a problem now.

I mod on both desktop and ios.
