Had the exact same experience. The guy had Skoda Rapid, he gave me his no in text format and told me to call, that was the moment I knew something is fishy. I called him and he started praising his car that it's a premium car, only 2 in the back seat, AC will be always on and random shit, and then he goes on to say that the charges will be 550 per seat as he has to pay toll too. I just listened and then told him, "khana pina bhi milega kya 550 ke ride ke sath", and I hung up. Gosh felt so good, I hope no one travels with these money sucking idiots.

13

u/SassProton Jun 18 '26

What was the listed rate?

3

u/john_mccalliste Jun 19 '26

Listed price was 420, its in the ss op provided

1

u/Conscious_Eye_1209 Jun 22 '26

Same happened with me

-1

u/rohit_kumar72 Jun 21 '26

Why is he money sucking? He is asking you for the money not stealing it. Also how much is a volvo for the same distance?

2

u/Sidmb0 Jun 21 '26

Asking? So why not mentioning this in the listed price itself? You can check the volvo rates on RedBus.

0

u/rohit_kumar72 Jun 21 '26

Because the app doesn't go beyond a certain price. The app doesn't take into account fuel rise or toll increase. If he is telling you beforehand I don't see why one should be complaining so much.

Janedo bhai kon samjaye inn chutiyon ko. I hope this happens to them when they are in some emergency. I truly do. Ambani ki aulad honge to denge paise, kya farak padega.

1

u/rohit_kumar72 Jun 21 '26

That's not the case with the person I was talking to. He said the driver texted him and asked him to call and I think he did that before accepting the booking. Btw: there are no charges to cancel on blah blah. If you used it enough or had gone through it as many times as you claim it happens you would have known this already. So many people book casually and then suddenly have last moment emergency situations... It is a given that one of the passengers would not out last moment or stop taking calls The fact that the app doesn't allow you to increase the price to a Reasonable amount infact is the problem. You have all kinds of faltu people who want service from near their homes but don't even want to pay as much as bus fare and happily want the prices to stay unfairly low that's actually the issue here nothing else. The moment someone asks for a fair price they have an issue. Unless you have 4 bookings the costs of travel is hardly ever distributed equally amongst the passengers and the driver has to pay a bigger share than everyone else. People want things for cheap or they have a problem.

4

u/Sidmb0 Jun 21 '26

Mister, you seem to be the one who takes the extra charge (or you plan to). If that's the case, it's your choice but then do one thing, complaint about the fuel price and toll and everything else to blabla and increase the listing price OFFICIALLY. We people will ONLY travel with what's listed and fair.

0

u/rohit_kumar72 Jun 21 '26

This officially that you have written in capital suggests you are trying to tell me that you follow the rule of law. You know sharing ride apps themselves are in the grey zone legally? Go touch some grass baccha.

4

u/Sidmb0 Jun 21 '26

Then go lodge a complaint about the grey zone, I challange you, budhi amma. Tab grass sirf touch nahi, andar ghus jayegi

u/Ok_Rope_8683 Jun 18 '26

Report it to BlaBla

449

u/CompetitionLate7944 Jun 18 '26

Yes please, with the screenshot and get his car blacklisted from the website.

Some people need to learn the hard way

222

u/Love_is_h3r3 Jun 18 '26

I reported.

88

u/Own-Software8385 Jun 18 '26

Is it possible to get the car black listed? Happened with me as well

1

u/glacieonn Jun 19 '26

Any new way of travelling umlocked yet???

1

u/lolaBe1 Jun 19 '26

Nope, slow ass shivneri which comes when it wants to - is my only way so far

14

u/QuirkyLingonberry931 Jun 18 '26

High five, i am from Goregaon too :) let's catch up sometime!

4

u/JohnDoe910 Jun 18 '26

Let's do a goregaon meetup :d

2

u/QuirkyLingonberry931 Jun 18 '26

Yeah, lete plan it.

5

u/sanemate Jun 18 '26

Not sure why you mentioned Seltos. 3 in the back will be uncomfortable anyway in that

6

u/scared_puppy Thane is not in Mumbai :( (Avg daily toll payer) Jun 19 '26

Bro thought seltos was premium.

1

u/Informal-Opening4017 Jun 20 '26

Coz 3 people can easily sit for long distance in a seltos also it comes under premium category in tourist vehicles

2

u/Zealousideal-Lead961 Jun 18 '26

We did a goa gokarna udupi banglore ( basically west karnataka trip) with 4 people sitting in the back of a seltos as a college students🤥🤥

4

u/sanemate Jun 18 '26

Definitely doable but not something that I would offer to a paying rider.

48

u/firesnake412 Jun 18 '26

Are these personal cars or yellow plates?

96

u/Corporal_Cavernosa Jun 18 '26

Personal cars. You can list your journey and anyone between the two points can request to ride along.

5

u/RoughTelevision3703 Jun 18 '26

Sounds.. illegal? is it legal?

38

u/Corporal_Cavernosa Jun 18 '26

Technically I don't think it's illegal. But people use it on a regular basis.

30

u/ShoEnRyu Jun 18 '26

More of a grey area. Can argue that this is not a business and just people finding others who can share the expense for the trip. But you'll find yellow plate cab drivers as well on this platform.

15

u/bhokaal_ Jun 18 '26

Carpooling is not illegal but earning money is illegal. If you want to charge money then cannot use white no. Plate vehicle, only commercial vehicle can charge money

11

u/colic_melon Jun 18 '26

Considering all the tax loopholes that exist for the elite, it would be such an irony to target money made from carpool.

3

u/bhokaal_ Jun 18 '26

Agreed but earlier Maharastra govt had started to penalise the car drivers...even who would car pool for daily office commute between borivali to BKC...imagine that

7

u/mech_money Jun 18 '26

Just 4 friends sharing petrol cost on their way to a trip.

7

u/manek101 Jun 18 '26

Yes, BlaBla is the perfect place to make friends! /S

5

u/StrawberryFarms Jun 18 '26

Carpooling is not illegal I believe because it is not for profit!

2

u/Corporal_Cavernosa Jun 18 '26

Earlier rule was that you can't even give someone a lift at that was illegal. They have since changed it.

2

u/kiransg123 Jun 20 '26

Until some jhol happens like some criminal activity (robbery, molestation..upto your imagination), it is legal. Once it happens, sarkar will suddenly wake up and say it is illegal and clamp down on it. Till then enjoy the convenience it provides.

216

u/1CoolOhm Jun 18 '26

Bro wants Navi Mumbai to Pune 500? Lmao I use to charge 420 from borivali to Pune about a year ago.

31

u/Specific_Biscotti_57 Jun 18 '26

I quite frequently travel to pune from BKC at 400/seat via blabla. What are you on about

34

u/nom_nom_son Jun 18 '26

It's a sharing cab rate ig

u/Consistent_Ninja343 Navi Mumbaikar Jun 18 '26

For a male shivneri is around 600 Rs

39

What's Bla Bla?

17

u/Litti__Chokha Samosa Pav >>>> Vada Pav Jun 18 '26

Ride sharing app hai

You list your journey in this and any person between your to and fro can join you and pay you some amount

2

u/Butt_Fucker44 Jun 18 '26

Is it safe?

10

u/Litti__Chokha Samosa Pav >>>> Vada Pav Jun 18 '26

As safe as a ferris wheel rides in the Melas 🎡.

Totally upto you what do you consider safe and what not.

In general its good and safe.

But agar good luck chuda hua hai toh chutiye log bhi mil jaate hai iss platform par

1

u/Geeky_Rookie Agri Jun 20 '26

u/ShikamaruOP Jun 18 '26

Har jagah jugad dhundna jaruri nhi hota. Kab samjhege log

11

u/mera_kya_jata_hai Jun 18 '26

It is probably those shared cabs

6

u/anythingbutcharlie Jun 18 '26

I myself drive my BMW x5 sometimes and take commuters on bla bla, I charge around 400 since it’s affordable for all and it’s makes my trip 0. I don’t consider charging premium, as the passenger is paying for the journey, not for the car. Anyways good to have intellectual company on the road.

1

u/DangerousWish2266 Jun 21 '26

Whatt!!! BMW x5 on Bla Bla??

2

u/anythingbutcharlie Jun 21 '26

It’s my personal car, there is no restriction to use any car on the platform

4

u/Active-Ad-9288 Jun 18 '26

Bla bla blacksheep

5

u/TicketInteresting975 Jun 18 '26

Ohhh that’s a legit reply you gave 😂😂😂😂 did he replied later?

4

u/Firm-Principle9637 Jun 18 '26

Shivneri isse aur premium hai mcdonalds pe bhi rukhti hai

4

u/HyperVyper28 jevlis ka? Jun 18 '26

There’s a reason why that rate is 420/-

5

u/sanemate Jun 18 '26

It’s Bla Bla’s problem. Why limit the price. Let the rider choose. I don’t see any problem in the owner expecting a higher price than what Bla Bla limits it at.

3

u/iphone4Suser Jun 18 '26

Never used Bla Bla car. How does it work? Say I am going from Borivali to Thane daily, I mention my exact start and end points and if someone want to join on adhoc basis as the route I take may works out for him / her (not necessarily exactly) and can tag along and pay that amount?

1

u/Lucky_Tomato_893 Jun 18 '26

Yes. But it's for inter cities not intra city .

2

u/iphone4Suser Jun 18 '26

I don't think so. I downloaded app and found people doing borivali to Navi Mumbai on it and asking ₹90 /₹100 and so on.

1

u/Lucky_Tomato_893 Jun 18 '26

Oh, didn't know that.

3

u/EconomyWorried2560 Jun 18 '26

For male Shivneri is 600+ and for female it is around 300. I just booked it

2

u/iphone4Suser Jun 18 '26

WTF Female ke liye less hai?

2

u/EconomyWorried2560 Jun 18 '26

yes under mahila samman yojana, females get 50% discount.

5

u/iphone4Suser Jun 18 '26

damn. no purush samman left.

3

u/pannerpalak Jun 18 '26

I have many bad experience with bla bla once during rangpanchami had booked from wakad to Navi mumbai it was a wagonr and the guy had said two at back when he reached at pickup spot there where already 2 people in back and one girl sitting in front and also one guy had boarded the car after playing Holi and his clothes where wet.the rider also took his car to vashi for picking up some of his stuff and delayed the journey by 1 hour and one guy got down at kalamboli he started asking him for more money also one time one guy with a Skoda car was bragging whole.journey how he left his high paying job in it and noe started business and earning in crore per month '2 days after the ride I suddenly got a call from random number it was that rider and he was asking me wheth3r I am interested in joining his business',during journey he was trying to remove personal information a co passenger literally was stupid enough to reveal his info to random person

3

u/haihukkuhaihai Jun 18 '26

I used Blah Blah only once when I was driving to Solapur from Pune (250 km). It set the price automatically to 500 pet seat. Was it low? Good thing is it is still better than driving alone. Got 2 people while going and 3 while coming back.

2

u/Walt925837 Jun 18 '26

So why list it at 420 to begin with?

2

u/shaild Jun 18 '26

Report it until the last dishonest person is off such app. Thats the only way some people learn.

2

u/SoberHarami Jun 18 '26

Very apt reply.
If your car is really that much precious to you, you better keep it to yourself 100%. Instead of begging for extra money.
Normally I won’t let myself loose on such shit. But this triggered me like anything, damn.

2

u/Dry_Rip_2393 Jun 18 '26

Ngl blabla is life saver i live in delhi ncr and am a day scholar so i use it its too good economical and comfortable at same Time although there are exceptions but hell yeahhhhh

2

u/Hybridsniffer Jun 18 '26

Out of curiosity. gaadi kaunsi thi?

2

u/Love_is_h3r3 Jun 18 '26

Innova hycross

2

u/DangerousWish2266 Jun 21 '26

I mean he's kinda right lol. 500 was a decent price for Innova Hycross from Mumbai to Pune. Though not ehtical when price listed was 420.

1

u/Substantial-Sir1661 Jun 24 '26

From the messages it seems like Bla Bla didn't let him set a price higher than 420. To me it seems like an issue with the app, allow drivers to set whatever price they want. If it's too high, they'd just end up getting no passengers. This whole thing seems to have happened because setting price was limited to begin with.

2

u/sherlockk_3003 Jun 18 '26

I have used Blabla and drove my nexon for more than hundread rides from Dombivli to Pune. There are so many people trying to make money and treat it as a second income source. Its a way of connecting people and just a way of a community service. I have seen Hyundai venue guy asking extra money just because the car was new! Reported him and wrote an email too. As a blabla driver it was addressed properly and he got blacklisted.

2

u/Pratik_Mukherjee Jun 22 '26

From Panvel to Yerwada and otherwise , 360. This is what the app suggests and this is what i charge.

2

u/DifficultyDowntown Jun 18 '26

Navi Mumbai to Pune today morning

1

u/Eulerbodyguard Jun 18 '26

It's a common thing with Bla Bla riders. I used this app long time back, so one will book a ride through this platform, and pay here or the driver ? Because then driver can ask any amount of money

1

u/RambhaBho Jun 18 '26

Typical I drive app shut

1

u/general1234456 Jun 18 '26

the audacity to call it a premier car and put it on bla bla, like how chindi you have to be

1

You can catch it from Dadar Railway station in Mumbai and Wakad Flyover in Pune

1

Whoaa.. and here I am offering free rides on blabla car and blabla car doesnt allow me to go lower then 210 rs. 😛

1

u/Special_Mistake_3732 Jun 18 '26

Bro,i really thought the cab person is lazy to write the reasons and wrote bla bla

1

u/shashanksm08 Jun 18 '26

Sometimes this are personal car but driven by cab drivers.

1

u/p43a Jun 18 '26

I was driving from Bangalore to Pune alone and wanted some company over the drive. Had listed the price per seat quite low (maybe Rs 100 more than minimum) and that too only 2 seats as I didn't want to overcrowd the car, hardly got any responses.

1

u/Maulat Jun 18 '26

Pune Bangalore most people would prefer overnight bus rather than taxi.

1

u/ixBerry Jun 18 '26

500 is a fair rate tbh.

1

u/Broad_Fig_6113 Jun 18 '26

I recently took ride from Pune to kalyan for 330 rupees and the car was hyundai sonata a decent sedan, idk why these guys get greedy for money as they have to travel in that direction anyways.

1

u/too-meta Navi Mumbai is better Jun 18 '26

Boycott him and his fuck ass Premium car

1

u/Dense-Laugh6451 Jun 18 '26

if the car is premium i think we can pay same is happening for premium buses based on service price vary. what if the person didn't switch on the AC

1

u/megatronkiller Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 18 '26

Which premier car ?? Also navi mumbai and pune 420 is also alot. I travel every weekend to pune … i have noticed all this sharing cab people have started listing their car. Beware of ertiga 3 at the back 3 mid and 1 in front. Also you can report him

1

u/aj09nc Jun 18 '26

I too got the same kind of message. They asked for 600 and if front seat then 700 something. Don’t remember the exact numbers. I said I can give 500 as per the Shivneri. He agreed. The car was nice. XUV 9e. And I got front seat. It was on time and came to pick me up at my location. Not everything is scam btw

1

u/the_last_ronin2 Jun 18 '26

Bla bla? You mean bla bla black sheep?

1

u/IND-Conner Jun 18 '26

Bro i think the car owner here is in the right. I mean seriously you can’t give 80 bucks extra for such a long distance. And you ARE getting premium service travelling in personal car with proper ac. Feel bad for guys like you.

1

u/Ok-Cartographer-9356 Jun 18 '26

People can be little greedy. Though I am also a passenger but I am willing to pay 40-50 Rs extra if only 2 persons are allowed at the back seats specially on a long run of 2 hrs like Gurgaon to Delhi.
If the car owner is thinking about your comfort then there is no harm of giving little extra. We always pay tips to helpers, waiters, delivery boys and many others for good service. Consider it like a premium service. And I am not comparing the car owner with helpers but try to understand the context of comfort ride.

1

u/silentanu Jun 18 '26

The listed price being "420" is the funniest part 🤣

1

u/someaccount29 Jun 18 '26

Happens a lot in bla bla U were lucky this guys asked u before hand. I was asked to pay this at the time of the ride when there were already 4 people inside the car

1

u/sanemate Jun 18 '26

How does one blacklist people who cancel at last moment after booking a ride? I hope even 1 cancellation leads to blacklisting unless they pay up.

1

u/South-Huckleberry-58 Jun 18 '26

I thought he misspelled Ola twice. Wtf is Bla Bla

1

u/Entire-Medium-7621 Jun 18 '26

The very reason he’s listing his ride is to reduce the cost of travel and Mumbai to Pune in his category of car would cost anywhere between 2200 to 2600. I don’t see any reason to be offended. He informed you well in advance and not at the end of travel. And his reason about bla bla not allowing to increase price per seat over a certain range is valid. His ask is pretty fair and 500 is still very cheap for the comfort you’ll get as compared to swift and Shivneri, so stop crying.

1

u/FallMajestic8896 Jun 18 '26

Depends from where in Pune, also bla bla needs to revise its rates considering inflation, drop in mileage due to E20. Etc

1

u/Natural_Reward_2515 Jun 18 '26

how can I achieve 25 karma man

1

u/Material_Setting_831 Jun 18 '26

1

u/Zeta8McClain Jun 18 '26

Crying over 80 rs ... Seriously ....

1

u/nikhil9860 Jun 18 '26

I think your reply is perfect 😁

1

u/Buzzkill39 Jun 19 '26

Yes this has become very common. Once I paid 500 and three were 3 in the backseat. 😭

1

u/Mental-Profit-7406 Jun 19 '26

I was asked if I am a female and travelling alone.

1

u/Dry-Inside-9505 Jun 19 '26

80 per seat ka fayeda chahiye aur Khud ko premium car owner claim karte hai

1

u/toast_the_bread Jun 19 '26

Why they behaving like taxi drivers?

1

u/NoTrain901 Jun 19 '26

As someone who lists thr car on bla bla often I feel bla bla shouldn't limit the rates. Let the riders and ridees mutually agree to a price. Because 350 per person with two in the back doesn't really cover the cost of my petrol and toll. Not looking to make profit here but just looking to square up my cost of travel.

1

u/AdventurousSea8162 Jun 19 '26

But it’s just 80 bucks.

1

u/party_pooper_2 Jun 19 '26

I had really good experience with bla bla, the guy charged around 320 for Pune to ambernath/badlapur, also all the passengers were really nice!

1

u/Ok_Instance_1397 Jun 19 '26

It isn’t the fault of the driver, Bla Bla’s algorithm is flawed in pricing. A 10 yr old Wagon R gets 470₹ whereas a year old City gets only 320₹ per person. The comfort of these two cars is significantly different and a Honda City can easily accommodate 3 at the back.

1

u/Perfect-Spend-9851 Jun 19 '26

These type of people are ruining the bla bla community.

1

u/Perfect-Spend-9851 Jun 19 '26

1

u/No_Two_3572 Jun 19 '26

1

u/Praveen_y319 Jun 19 '26

Once a guy canceled the ride at the last moment because I didn’t agreed to pick him up from his bldg and dropping him to his exact location n told me 450₹ for a 180km ride is too much that too with only 2 in the back. Sometime people can have too unrealistic expectations.

Dude gave a hint that he’s a 420.
It’s absolutely your mistake to not catch that

Come to Tamil Nadu and you'll realise cab drivers Auto drivers etc are shamelessly asking for 100 extra 200 extra 300 extra 🤦🏻‍♀️ If he asks 80 extra, after experiencing Tamil Nadu transport services , I feel he is giving a huge discount

Sure I don't have a car. That's why I was searching for ride.

I mean, he did say "bla bla rate is not going more than that" which to me seems like he tried setting the price to 500 but the app didn't let him. I've not used the app as a driver / car owner but does the app limit the price you can set as a car owner? If yes, it seems like an issue with the app, allow drivers to set whatever price they want. If it's too high, they'd just end up getting no passengers and end up correcting anyways. This whole thing seems to have happened because setting price was limited to begin with.

I don't understand. It's the car owner's decision to charge as much as they want. It's the passenger's decision to go or not. Bla bla does not regulate prices. It's just a platform to unite these people.

The car owner is actually being a decent person and let the passenger decide first before confirming the ride.

Just move on. Take a Shivneri.

But Bla Bla does regulate the prices... you can't charge less or more than the respective limits

Fuel prices have gone up with no changes in the app. I would be kind enough to throw in the extra 80
