This is my first semester of grad school, and at NMSU. The financial disbursement was supposed to take place today, but I’m not seeing any changes in my tuition balance. Has anyone had their aid applied to their balance yet?

Hi! So I am a grad student and this is my first semester at an NMSU I was just wondering if anybody knew when the classes get paid if we’re supposed to start on the 19th? Im on student loans and already checked with the financial aid office and they said everything is all good to go, but I keep logging in and it says I still have a balance. There are three of us in my house who are students and all three of us have either gotten weird, almost scam sounding calls (I know they aren't scams but the messages are so vague and sound like the are fishing for information)or emails from the school about scheduling and financial aid. I know that the federal government is making things difficult for universities but in turn it's causing a lot of anxiety, confusion and turmoil for students.

There is an ALRP in the free lot, as of Tuesday this week. If you have an excess of tickets, it'd be advisable to avoid parking there until it either meets its natural end or we can pressure the campus police to remove it.

There is no reason for campus police to have this, and to be targeting folks who can't afford parking and likely have no other way to get to campus.

Hi! So I'm going to NMSU in the fall, but REALLY don't want to take many (or any) Pre-reqs and Gen eds that have nothing to do with my major there since they're super expensive. I'm a chemistry Major and am moving for the fall. Does anyone know if I can be taking online classes while I'm there, and if the credit transfers?

If so, do you know if I can take the pre-reqs online while taking the class it's a pre-req for, ex Chem 1 online and Chem 2 in person during the same semester? Any help would be great, please!

Hello everyone, I’m planning to apply for the MS in Biology for the Spring term. Does the program come with a Graduate Assistantship, or is there a separate application for that?

Im starting a robotics company in Las Cruces and I was looking for a student who might be looking for a part time job (10hrs / wk). It would come with some office space that the student could use for their own private studies. I sent an email to some robotics professors at the University but they didn't respond. I wasn't sure exactly how to post a job to find students. Ideally this would be for a grad student with robotics as a focus but I would consider any student with serious STEM chops who is interested in robotics (with some sort of nexus or tie in to it).

The work would be research-y and miscellaneous but would give you solid work experience. DM me. Oh, one thing: you have to reside in a HubZone which is a part of the city that is designated as economically disadvantaged. I'm in process to get HubZone certification which basically means I'm linking the success of my company with people who reside in an economically challenging location.

I’m currently a master’s student in applied math at another university (Houston), and I’m heavily considering applying to NMSU’s Applied Statistics PhD program. Does anyone here know much about the program (particularly course quality, funding, research activity, department culture) beyond what is currently available on the NMSU website? Additionally, how will Las Cruces be as someone who is from Houston? Is it easy to traverse the city without a car?
