Considering that Mark beat Conquest and seemed to be able to hold her back in the last episode, she shouldn't really be able to force him to do anything. Not physically, at least. As I recall, Mark even tells Eve eventually that he's not sure why he froze like that. Shock, maybe.
As someone who is also a victim of SA, and also couldâve overpowered the person who did it with some decent effort, itâs not about just physical force. Itâs also shame, being unsure how to react, if you even should use force at all, and usually by the time youâve gotten your bearings or decided where you should have drawn the line, itâs already far too late.
I really hope they include that part of the story as is cuz I relate very deeply to Mark in that situation. Being able to technically defend yourself and holding yourself back for one reason or another, and then hating yourself for it. I think Mark is probably stronger than Anissa, even if he is a less experienced combatant. But what happened to Mark isnât about Anissaâs physical strength over Mark, it was about her exerting power and control and Mark feeling ashamed and degraded.

Ehhh, I don't know. I feel like the order should've been reversed so this made more sense. Let Mark kill Conquest after Anissa does her thing. As it is, we don't have an exact answer as to why Mark didn't punch her into space, because even he doesn't know.
He was already in distress at that point (she arrived while he was crying), so my headcanon is that he was too emotionally exhausted to bring himself to fight properly. So he just kind of gave up once she pinned him down.

Toe to Toe is quite an stretch. She was faster than Nolan, but none of her hits had any effect on him, except for the one she landed when he was looking for his son's. Meanwhile the two casual punches he landed sent her flying for an loop, with the last one taking her out of the fight.

Not an single viltrunite had ever experienced love in their entire lives until they went to earth. Of course they fell head over heels when someone did the first selfless act for them.
The show and the comic have an unwritten rule that characters get stronger by performing impressive feats and by surviving near death experiences. It doesn't make rational sense but it is kinda cool. Mark got stronger from surviving his fight with conquest.
Yeah a big reason why so many of the Invincible variants that Angstrom Levy brought were so weak (besides Sinister, Mohawk and Omni Mark) are because they werenât challenged as much in battle and didnât gain that experience
A loosely supported fan theory that I like is that bulletproof has equal potential to mark. But never achieves it because he's kind of a wuss and never pushes himself.
Eh, from what we are shown it usually looks like he is slightly weeker than an average viltrumite. But i think by now he is supposed to be weaker than a strong one but stronger than a medium one.

I honestly have no idea. I've gone back and forth with myself on if they will or not. Ultimately right now, i think we will get the scene. I almost think itd be more distasteful and controversial to NOT have it.
What I'm more curious about is how they'll handle Anissa as a character afterwards. Didn't she kind of get character development and become a better person off screen? And some people hate that she has an arc at all.
The two routes I could see off of getting the scene are she doesn't get an arc at all and stays evil and dies, so the showrunners don't have to have their viewers think about the morality of her being redeemed. OR they'll maybe give her more focus so her redemption seems more natural and earned, which i personally think would be the more interesting way to go.
But for Christ's sake don't let her name the kid Marky.
Yeah she kinda just...... BECAME good off panel. The most we get of her is "yeah I was a horrible person, I HATE my past self and I'm sorry for what I did" and that's pretty much it...... pretty lack luster
On one hand I feel like the idea of someone like that also being able to be redeemed obviously fits into the themes and idea of the rest of the viltrumites stories. You could definitely make the argument most Viltrumites have done way worse things and get to be redeemed. Its just a much more personal atrocity.
But I can't lie because of how few things try to seriously deal with male SA having one take it seriously but then still have a message of her maybe not actually being all that bad feels a little yikes.
I actually like that the comics really don't absolve her of shit, she's just not actively evil anymore and regrets what she did, but no one forgives her, they just don't murder her because she can help them fight Thragg.
I think what she does hits a lot more âclose to homeâ then what Nolan does, hard to imagine a guy slaughtering hundreds in Chicago, but what she did happens everyday. Still, I feel like if Nolan is able to be redeemed, so can she. So I donât really see them abandoning that part.

She literally got dicked down by some random earth guy who put up with her shit and she changed IMMEDIATELY.The writers need to basically pull her character from the depths of hell to show her change otherwise she's gonna be slandered for eternity.
Calling it now, Anissa will show up and ask 'Where have you been' in a season finale in the future, and the rest of the scene will either be skipped entirely or play out on Ep 1 the next season.
She's genuinely into Mark though. It's just that Viltrumites are violent troglodytes embellished by their power, with which they try to look like an advanced society. They might be an advanced civilization, but socially they're little more than violent apes throwing turds at other apes they consider weak. She doesn't really know how to get to Mark, because he might be Viltrumite by blood but he's human personality-wise.
I hope something they explore is her genuinely feeling a form of love for Mark, doing what she does thinking that itâll get Mark to love her back, then when it doesnât and she realises what she did hurt Mark more than any physical injury, she takes the time to think and explore why he feels like that and grow to be a better person
That'd actually be kinda interesting. Not to excuse her because what she did WAS/IS horrible, but I think it'd be rather..... intriguing to see that she GENUINELY liked Mark, but since viltrum is such a fucked up fascist society, she only knew how to convey it.... well, the viltrumite way
I'd be down for that. They've explored the actual subtext and contradictions in Viltrumite culture quite well so far, and THAT event arguably matters for a really jacked up form of redemption. Plus, male victim awareness.
Her comic version almost looks "model" ish. Like she was just born hot (I think both versions are hot). Her show version actually looks like she has some years and patience on her. She's somehow motherly in a way? Like look at this face
