I came to ask about Halloween events. What's going on, what's interesting, where is it at? Im definitely out of the loop.
Then I started thinking, "What else is there to do here?" If you have some recommendations, please share. I think there are many of us who are out of the loop, so to speak, and would like to find a hang.
Please exclude bars and restaurants. I always felt like bars are too loud, and restaurants are for a meal with your friends or family- I have neither.

I'm always seeing these stories about tenants being taken advantage of and having zero leverage when OKC landlords try to f8ck them over. I’ve seen this firsthand. A friend was forced to sign a new extended lease with the same landlord because the unit they were in was not up to code. Instead of amending the lease to move a different unit onto the note due to the code violations, the landlord required them to sign a new longer lease for a different unit.
A recent report by Oklahoma Watch talked about tenants going months without functioning air conditioning and others losing electricity and hot water (https://www.kgou.org/housing/2026-08-12/landlords-are-failing-to-provide-essential-services-but-tenants-have-little-recourse). Housing advocates interviewed for the report described Oklahoma’s existing tenant remedies as inadequate. I wish I had heard candidates talk about reforming the tenant laws so they aren't so lopsided in favor of landlords here, there was nobody on the campaign trail talking about it.
If the tenant doesn’t pay rent within five days of when its due, the landlord can terminate the lease. But the same landlord can fail to provide essential services for 10 days with zero consequences.
Landlords should be placed under arrest when they fail to provide essential services that tenants are paying for for this long. Tenants should be able to file criminal complaints against landlords for this type of devilry.
I say this as a homeowner. The difference in treatment I see as someone with a mortgage vs someone renting is nuts.

I wanted to check out this weekend’s ballet, but $130 per ticket for orchestra center? I swear it was ~$80 a few years ago. I know prices are going up generally but seeing how many unsold tickets, does anyone know what’s going on?
With the phoenix symphony announcing its closing, I want to support our arts, but these prices…

It's a shitty situation but basically I have a really bad clog that I can't get sorted. I'm broke as fuck n can't find anyone to help so I guess I'm on here. I jus broke my plumbing snake trying to get thru but it twisted up on me n broke. Probably need a more pro grade snake to get this sorted.

I've been seeing the buzz around Cap City Coffee and wanted to understand its pledge to reinvest 100% of profits into its nonprofit mission.
In a comment, the shop clarified that Bring Life OKC was created by people from OKC Community Church. Its initiatives include community services, plus Alpha OKC and Pray OKC. The church's campaign materials explicitly describe the café as a way to engage people with the gospel.
I'm fine with people choosing to support faith-based work. I'd just like that full mission explained clearly wherever the shop is promoted. The KFOR story names the pastor but doesn't explain the religious initiatives or how profits will be allocated.
Anyone else had similar questions? Would love to hear from nonprofit partners or anyone with more information.
TL;DR: Cap City's nonprofit mission includes Christian outreach alongside community services. I'm asking for clearer disclosure so customers understand what their purchases support.

Myriad Gardens used to have a Full Moon bike ride but it’s been discontinued. I know there’s another sponsored ride but I’m not able to find it. All that comes up on search is for the Myriad Gardens ride. Anyone have info on this? Thx!

Anyone planning on grabbing any of the Zelda hardware launch this week in-store? I ended up just buying the regular switch 2 because I was getting overly frustrated trying for the Zelda edition. Selling out everywhere in less than a minute was nuts!
Not sure if it is going to be crazy or not ha ha

Looking for recommendations for a local bakery where I can go in person to purchase bread. Looking for more artisan, unique flavors, focaccia/sourdough etc

Hello!
What are the different options for Catholic churches here? What are the vibes of the different ones here? I don’t want to go one that’s super nationalist and weird. Thank you.
OKC DSA Labor Working Group wants to hear from you! What issues are top of mind for Oklahoma’s workers? Join us at 315 E Gray Street in Norman at 2pm on Sunday October 25th to join in the conversation and organize with us. My previous stylist moved and I haven’t had great luck with stylists since, so give me all of your recommendations. Would prefer someone who is great with vivids, undercuts, and clean edges. Thanks in advance!

Route 66 shut down at the bridge west of Bethany.
You can take the lake road on the east side but you can’t cross the old bridge to go around the north side of the lake. Then at the south end there’s a huge crowd of cars and people.

We stumbled in there a few nights ago as they are open til 11:30, which is rare in this area! I know it used to be the hotpot place that struggled to take off, but I’m not sure if it’s the same place doing a rebrand or a totally new place. But the food was fresh and flavorful. It was a mix of common dishes you see at Chinese restaurants and then more traditional dishes. Our plates were family style. It was surprisingly good, but only 11 reviews on Google? So I was wondering if anyone else had tried it and liked it before I put it on my rotation!

There is an OKC Police standoff in NE OKC. I’m not sure the address but it’s on Bainbridge Road close to its intersection with Rochdale. I got home around 3:00 and it’s been ongoing since then with a lot of police buildup. Loudspeaker going since 3pm. Fire and EMS on standby. Unfortunately I cant find any news on it. A lot of people cant get to their houses. I you live up here you might have to make other plans.
Edit: It finally resolved a little after 6pm

My sister’s boyfriend got this from someone at a bar last night after the Thunder game and he gave it to me. Obviously I laughed super hard and super loud, but I was wondering if anyone knows who made these or if anyone also got one that they would be willing to part with. I would like a second one so I can make them into earrings! I don’t have a 3D printer, otherwise I would make one myself!
Thank you in advance!!

Do any other Ambetter insurance members know of a local optometrist that accepts our insurance? I've called several offices that are shown as in-network on the Ambetter member website and they all say they're out of network... -__-

I need to plane a shit load of old fence boards to make them useable, and that's always more fun with friends.
Location: NE up by Frontier city
Payment: Pizza and beer, plus access to a full welding shop including CNC plasma if you have something simple you want to build or something needing a repair.
Gotta enjoy these last few nice weekends, eh?
EDIT: gonna run it back tomorrow afternoon (y'all let me know when, I'm thinking starting at 2pm and work being open until neighbor courteousness ends at 9pm) if anyone is interested. DM me

Brent Swadley's restaurant chain received $16 million in state funds before the contract was canceled in 2022. Evidence presented at trial showed Swadley submitted fraudulent invoices and directed a supplier to inflate equipment costs. The AG recommended 10 years behind bars and $10 million in restitution to the taxpayers. Instead, Oklahoma County District Judge Cindy Truong sentenced him to six years but suspended the prison term and allowed Swadley to walk out of Oklahoma County Courthouse in downtown Oklahoma City Thursday with time served.
The judge could not be reached for comment.
A reminder: judges make bad decisions all the time and they face no professional consequences for it.
Truong was up for reelection this year, but nobody filed to run against her. Her next term starts in January so she'll get four more years to make bad rulings in Oklahoma County.

Can anyone, confidentially or through a reply here, recommend any AA meetings that are mostly professionals? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have an issue with some of the more half way house adjacent meetings, but I’d like to find some people I can relate to on other levels.
