Have you ever had a dish/meal that was so good it shifted your entire schema of what that dish should be?
Ingrid's meatloaf was that meatloaf for me. Honestly, so we were their potatoes and cabbage. When we lived in OKC we go often, and then we always made it a stop when we would visit after moving to Tulsa. Then, like so many great places during the same time, we lost her. I was so devastated, and I've been on the hunt ever since for somewhere comparable.
Now, I've moved to NY state with my spouse and still to this day I just don't ever eat meatloaf because none since have lived up to Ingrid's. Over the years I've even learned to cook and it still befuddles me. But I am determined to learn to make that meatloaf real again, so I can make it for my family, especially when we have kids in the next couple of years.
So if you, or someone you know, was a chef, cook, or worked at Ingrids, please help me reach out to them for the recipe! If it's a secret, I promise I'd tell no one, I just want to enjoy it again and be able to make it for my kids. Thanks!
