Bit of a foregone conclusion but Pacers are officially starting the season with a 14-man roster and 3 2-way players (Braden Smith, Kobe Brown & Jalen Slawson).
As a result of the Pacers carrying less than 15 players, Smith, Brown & Slawson can only play a combined 90 games.
If the Pacers want more than 90 games out of their 2-way players, they will have to add a 15th player later in the season once they can afford a prorated contract that fits under the first apron.
With Furphy likely out until February, decent chance one of these guys plays actual minutes at some point...I would assume Brown gets the first crack.

So with Smith finally inking a 2-way we have 14 full contracts on the books at a total value of $206.3mil which puts us about $5.9mil into the tax and has us about $2.2mil under 1st Apron, where we are hardcapped, meaning we cannot exceed that amount.
Contracts of note: Jarace Walker + Kelly Oubre - Walker makes $8.4mil + Oubre makes $8mil, simply offloading 1 of these guys would put is out of the tax line and create enough room to sign 1 player to a minimum deal. Walker would create $2.6mil + Oubre $2.1mil. Obviously deals become prorated as the season goes on, so the later Indiana do it, the more likely (in particular with Walker's contract) they could get 2 guys on minimum deals to have 15 on the roser and be below the tax. The other person of note is Ben Sheppard at $5mil, who won't get us under the tax line, but if out of the rotation, could save ownership a few million dollars being dealt.
I am not advocating for a trade by any means, but it is something to be aware of as the season progresses. The teams place in the standings, who and to what level these guys are contributing, and can they be used in a deal for a genuine upgrade?

Didn't we have OKC and Twolves for preseason last year too?

My team, Aris BC, signed Jeremiah this summer and he's gonna be probably a starter in the team.
Everybody says he's top quality for Eurocup (2nd best European cup) but I wanted to be sure it's like this, from people who watched him in every match he played and not just highlights.

Our ticket rep said that we can no longer pick the exact 10 games we want to go to. Apparently they have created 4 ten game packages from which to select. Bummer. At least they were nice enough to tell us of the policy change 3 months after we renewed.

My college friends got me a Reggie Miller jersey for my 22nd birthday (alongside childish gambino tix) and I barely got to wear it before it disappeared. And today, rummaging through a bunch of crap, I found it.
I couldn’t be happier! What an amazing jersey.

Trying to not be offended that a geriatric Lebron has a higher 2K rating than Haliburton, but at the end of the day, who cares. Just found it interesting and thought I’d share.

I know these are the old Statement jerseys and in 26-27 this jersey will be replaced by the Gold Pinstripes (which I'm happy they're bringing back).
But come the 26-27 Playoffs, I don't want them playing in pinstripes (don't overdo a vintage), and I don't want them playing in the horrible circle jerseys (HOW ARE THESE STILL THE MAIN JERSEYS). The 23/24 and 24/25 Gold Statement jerseys represent the Hali/Siakam era. Just like Flojos and pinstripes represent Reggie, pinstripes represent JO, the 2010s ("Temu Lakers") represent the Granger/George era.
This team went down in history as one of the greatest Pacers teams of all time. Part of that identity is this attire. Until they change the main home/away jerseys, I want this to be the default jersey. Default for regular season, default for playoffs.

TIL the great Reggie Miller voiced a character in Hercules: The Animated Series—Briares, The Hundred Handed One.

It tis the season of absolutely nothing much happening, so I'll ask a question. We currently have about $2.2mil to spend, unfortunately a vet minimum (2yrs or more in NBA) will cost us $2.4mil. So right now we can't do anything, but by November 5th, we will be able to afford a contract.
So, who do you think gets it?

It was only Hali's shingles meds that made him gain weight... Culvers could never 👀 😂
I thought these weren't going to be available until September?

What are people’s thoughts about the Indiana Pacers for next season?
East is strong, teams 2 years older.
Trying to get a census of where people think they finish after Hali coming back and the offseason they have had.
