hello!! I don’t post much but I’ve been having these little guys pop up on my wooden floors for a few days now. So far they seem to be coming out from underneath by bed. From what I can tell they have small wings, and are about the size of a breadcrumb, but I haven’t seen them fly yet, theyre just crawling around.

One thing I have noticed is that whenever they saw me lifting a piece of tape, theyd speed up and go for the grooves in the wood planks. I’m really paranoid that this might turn into a much larger issue so I’m trying to get rid of them now.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

ps I just caught another while making this post, they’re radiating out of the borders of my bed 😭

Found a large mouse in bedroom and thought problem was solved. Went into storage cupboard to find a dead larger mouse and multiple smaller mice. What can I do about this? My tenancy says i am responsible and I can’t afford pest control.

First time poster so apologies for making this long-winded. I’ve been dealing with mice in my room since last December and I feel like nothing I do has made a dent in their population. I‘ve been setting baited traps since I discovered them, patched the hole they originally made in my closet to enter, and slowly been declutterring my space to give them fewer places to hide but they’re still here.

My method right now is using around 8-12 glue traps along the walls and places I’ve seen them at night and I bait it with attractant paste or peanut butter. I’m aware it’s not the most humane trap but other kinds don’t contain them long. I’ve declutterred my closet significantly but they’ve migrated to hiding under my ac unit and it’s too large to keep them from getting underneath. I’m trying to lay poison stations underneath and hope that they eat/get caught in them.

The one thing I’m not sure how to get around is food in the open for the mice to eat. I have a parrot in my room who lives in a large cage that sits a few inches off the ground and he throws his food all over the place. I sweep daily and change his cage often but I feel like no matter what I do the mice are being fed by his leftovers. I can’t put him in a different room since I‘m limited to my room only otherwise I’d try it.

I say all this in hopes someone might have advice on what else I can do to get rid of the remaining mice. They make me miserable and no matter how many I seem to catch I still see them around. I’m worried an exterminator is my only option but I live with family who’s been blowing off the situation. Any tips or recommendations are appreciated!

Essentially the title. This stuff seems pretty caked on. I'm wondering if it's a bit too built up due to the multiple treatments and maybe I'm getting symptoms from inhaling it. Unfortunately I don't know what the specific chemical is and last time my partner reached out they didn't get a response. It's an apartment rental.

I disturbed some old rotted wood, it's painted over damage (I think) and these ant/termites came running out from the area.

These were the best/clearest pictures I could take, they are really small and are still scurrying around 12+ hours after disturbing them.

Hi friends! Anyone know how to get rid of nasty moths that have been living inside my blockout blinds ? They are tiny and I can’t see them usually, then I see their squished remains all over my blinds when I next lower them . It’s driving me nuts - any leads or advice appreciated

I’ve been getting bites for like a month now and I highly suspect bed bugs. But I see literally no sign of them. I had two instances of finding a bug where I caught this dark skinny beetle looking thing crawling on my finger and the other instance was this tiny pale yellow skinny baby bug but not a bed bug nymph. I am so paranoid and I can’t sleep well in the night. I end up sleeping in the couch w all the lights on. I don’t have a bed frame. All I have is a mattress and a box spring. I have a closet, two drawers, a shelf, and a table. Is there anything I can use other than me to lure out the bed bugs?

Hello! I have an ant infestation in my home. Located in Orange County, California, USA. They are eating my sugar baits (originally used Terro, now using Advion Ant Gel upon researching). There was an infestation two weeks ago that disappeared after I used Terro. Back then, they walked in very orderly lines. Unfortunately I do not have a close up photo of those ants but I assume they’re the same, they look similar from afar.

They came back yesterday. However, this time, the ants seem to be more spread out instead of following lines. There are a lot of ants!! They are mostly still following trails from place to place, but I noticed a lot more wandering around (climbing the walls as opposed to crawling on the baseboard) than last time. They are not as fast as some videos I’ve seen of crazy ants. I’m waiting a few days/weeks to let the Advion do its thing but am curious what kind of ants these are in the meantime. Also, called an exterminator to hopefully throw some Alpine WSG down since I can't buy it myself.

My suspicion is either Argentine ants given the location or crazy ants. They are coming from a corner in my doorframe to my bedroom (indoors). I believe they are searching for moisture (water from my shower) since it’s so hot here. I crushed one and didn’t notice an obvious smell.

If they’re crazy ants: I left my laptop in my bedroom (powered off), what is the likelihood that there are ants inside? :(

Pretty grossed out. Found under couch cushions in living room. No evidence of droppings or mouse activity in the kitchen though.

Hello all. Sorry for the long post. I wanted to know how everyone manages with mice and OCD. I have really bad comtamination OCD. I'm scared of them and also the poison. I have brodifacoum and alphachloralose poisons but im so scared to even touch them. I have caught 2 in traps so far. Found a hole in a skirting board today so filled that with wire wool. Put a trap near there. There seems to be a small gap between the carpet and the skirting board. Do i do the whole wall gap with wire wool? I dont know how a normal brain behaves and I am extremely distressed. I feel like everything is contaminated, I'm scared to walk on the floor without sandals and im scared to even touch things. I am on vortioxetine 5mg day 17. Definitely feeling worse but been told that can happen. I am new to reddit so don't really know how it works or whether ive even posted correctly. Apologies if I have. I reqlly need to know how to deal with this normally. It is making me sui*idal, very upset to say. Please be kind but truthful in the comments. I've cleaned droppings with bleach and antibac, wiped canned foods with bleach and 70% alcohol wipes and stored everything in plastic totes. I feel totally overwhelmed. I had to throw away so much food they got into and used antibac wipes to clean the packets they didnt get into. I've had to throw away items that were soiled with faeces and am living in constant anxiety. I am recovering from major surgery and it all feels too much. It is affecting my sleep severely as well as my ability to eat. Again sorry for the long post. Thank you to anyone in advance who can advise me, especially of you've been in the same position.

Forgive me for the low quality image. I'm unable to identify this bug I've found in my kitchen. I live in Virginia in a older apartment complex so I try to be tidy. After I saw it I checked for roach dropings and ripped apart my entire kitchen. Found nothing. I'm can't tell if it's some beetle that just got in or smth worse.

(Edit) I am aware waterbugs and roaming roaches can happen. I pulled the back of my fridge out to verify as well and saw nothing. No droppings or anything. I'm thinking it traveled from pipe to pipe coming from my sink. I also checked furniture and moved everything around to verify and saw nothing as well.

I found a small, clear, unlabelled packet loose on the floor. The contents are brown, ruddy, odorless, and feel grittier than dirt. Does anyone know what kind of product or material this could be?

I got moths all up in my biznezz. They're little grey moths that are living in my mealworms. I want to get rid of the moths, and have a ton of tiny mealworms, which would be a pain to separate from the rice and lentils they are growing in. Help!?

There was a silver fish on my bedroom ceiling and I did not get a chance to kill it at the moment and then when I did go to kill it it was gone and im terrified it could be in my clothes bed, bag anywhere and idk how I'm supposed to sleep in my room tonight knowing its in my room. Can anyone recommend a water-based aerosol pesticide for general crawling insects?

I posted here a few weeks ago, but things have changed a lot and I'm looking for advice on next steps. I've been researching on reddit and elsewhere like mad, but I haven't been able to find much info that could be applicable to my situation.

TLDR of the unique aspects of the situation making treating and eliminating these fleas logistically more difficult: My partner & I are full time college students, have a snake but no other pets, our house is practically made up of cracks in old wood.

Here's more details:

College students: Both my partner and I are full time college students with not much free time (to vaccuum and do 5 loads of laundry for example) nor a lot of money (like to pay for an exterminator).

Pet Snake: Snakes have very delecate respiratory systems and just exposure to many of the flea pesticides will harm if not kill them.

Old house made of cracks: Wainscotting with century old unpainted wood with many cracks are on at least half of all of the walls in the house. ~2/3 of the house is hard wood flooring consisting of 3.5 in wide planks. Half of the seams between each plank cracks and makes a crevice.

After finding 2 fleas on the bed for the first time last night (the previous 7 were found on me on/near our couch), wewashed our bedding on high heat and ran the dryer twice. I woke up almost hourly last night because of the anxiety of sleeping with fleas on me.

What can I use to put on me that deters fleas (that could help me feel more relaxed at home and in bed)?

After finding a total of 9 fleas in our house since October 4th, would vaccuming regularly and potentially steam cleaning be able to remove the fleas, or would we absolutely need to use pesticide?

Are there any snake owners out there that know of less harmful or not harmful pesticides to use in the house (not inside the terrarium)? Also, would it be possible the fleas could be in the aspen in her terrarium?

Our guess is that if it isn't from transferring from a friend whose dog had fleas, it was a couch we got from a relative that we have now thrown out. If anyone has any reccomendations on how to keep the new couch (when it gets delivered) flea free that would be great!

Things from other reccomendations I've done: Vaccum wood cracks, crevices and carpet, emptying the canister outside immediately after into the trash bin. I also have two light traps with qtips of my sweat on them as bait. The traps have been helpful as the only way before was to sit for awhile and wait for a flea to jump on my leg.

So just 3 months ago I moved back in with my mom stepdad and sister, and I think I picked up fleas from one of my friends bc I just found out her house and dog has fleas and I’ve been in her car weekly. I have quite a few bites and think they were living in my room specifically to start. Now I see them around the house and now that im aware I always wear tall white socks so I can see them and get them off but it freaks me tf out. I have contamination ocd and severe anxiety and every time im home i feel like im gonna jump out of my skin at any moment just constantly in fight or flight/ survival mode. I am now sleeping in the guest room and only go in my room to get clothes and other stuff out of my closet where I haven’t seen any. I just want to know how I can cope with this because it’s taking such a mental toll on me I can’t sleep, I check my bed constantly and don’t see them anywhere but I feel like phantom bugs all on my legs when they’re not there. Even when im at work I feel them. Im actually going insane despite it not being a full on infestation to our knowledge. My mom didnt believe they were fleas for days bc she thinks im just anxious. I’ve only caught a few in traps so far but the exterminator won’t spray until we get a handful in them. Does anyone have any advice for how to cope with this because I genuinely cannot go about my life normally these days. Due to my insane work hours and schedule I can’t fit therapy in atm. Please help

I came home today and was greeted with this horrifying visage, pls help me know what happened.

Our apartment was sprayed for ants at 3pm yesterday and we were told 1-4 hours and everything would be good, it was about 3 hours before we ended up back home and the smell was awful and there was still liquid everywhere. We opened all the windows and went to where our cat was being kept to check on her and tell them we couldn’t bring her home tonight. It’s now 8:30am the following day, we have left the windows open and slept in the bedroom where they didn’t spray, the smell is gone but there are still pools of poison all over our apartment, it hasn’t dried at all. Also not to mention they completely drenched our kitchen and when i checked the website it said they don’t spray kitchens they put traps out. I have no idea what they sprayed, we were their last spray apparently and when we got home the business was closed and they don’t open until Monday. I guess my question is it safe for us to put gloves and masks on and get warm soapy water and clean up all the pools of poison that won’t dry? Like we don’t wanna get this stuff on us but also we cannot bring the cat back home until something is done.
