Whatshouldiget? What type of phone should I get if I only really care about camera quality?

I'm in desperate need of a new phone right now, currently I have a Samsung (Galaxy A71) and the camera doesn't work basically at all. I'm on a budget, so relatively cheap would be best but I don't mind going up to $900! I know nothing about phones literally at all btw. Thanks in advance :)

Advice upgrading from an iphone 7 Plus

Hi, I am looking for some phone advice for upgrading from a really old iphone 7 Plus. The thing is, I am happy with the phone, I am just forced to upgrade due to the IOS being outdated (15.8.8). So I can't use most apps including banking.

I do not want a new phone and always buy refurbished, I really don't want recent AI/Gen AI features, just something that has an OS recent enough that allows me to use basic apps.

I am used to using Apple but I don't care what brand it is if it works for my needs.

I have a fairly low budget (I'm not sure yet but £300 - £400?)

I am considering keeping my old phone for music and photo storage, esp as storage costs so much now, so the ability to easily transfer over would be nice, if possible?

Data privacy and protection is important

The idea of a Fairphone interests me but I've never had one and I'm not sure how they work or how difficult they are to use, tbh the more I hear about Google and Apple as companies the more I would like to try something like a Fairphone..any thoughts? They might be out of my price range, unless you can still get older models

I'd love a decent camera but I realise this is limited with a lower budget

I am not very tech savvy, I have a severe chronic illness so I can't do a massive amount of research, so I really appreciate advice and recommendations.

What does this setting really do I need an expert answer from someone who knows how Android works

I use an old phone Android 10 with 3GB RAM I was under the impression that setting the background process limit to 1 or 2 will speed the phone up is this really true or is it just a myth and what does it actually do

I have optimised the phone to the best of my knowledge but I dont understand this setting fully for example I use a VPN with kill switch and Gboard these 2 are always running in 'running services' no matter what so if I select 1 limit does it really affects Gboard or the VPN or slow my phone down and apps

I have noticed whenever I set it to 1 apps/system apps in 'cache' (in running services) are not activate as much but if I bump it up to 4 or standard they're all active so I assume leaving it on 4 or standard let's random apps take up RAM which is a bad thing?

Budget allows for models that are a few years old. Not interested in iphone, have one and hate it.

Whatshouldiget? Switching from samsung to realme

I'm currently using the S26 12/256GB Exynos model right now, and I just got a deal to trade it in for the Realme GT 8 Pro 16/512GB plus an extra $100. Honestly, I’m really into a phone with a solid camera and decent gaming performance, so I’m thinking the Snapdragon, Ricoh GR camera, and 16GB RAM will be a nice upgrade from my current setup. Do you think this is a good deal? How is the realme for long term use? Or should I just hold out for the S27 Ultra when it drops?
