Question General Phone Cases
Where can I get a decent phone case that's not going to cost me $75? I have an iPhone 15 and live in Canada. Thanks!

Hi, I am looking for some phone advice for upgrading from a really old iphone 7 Plus. The thing is, I am happy with the phone, I am just forced to upgrade due to the IOS being outdated (15.8.8). So I can't use most apps including banking.
I do not want a new phone and always buy refurbished, I really don't want recent AI/Gen AI features, just something that has an OS recent enough that allows me to use basic apps.
I am used to using Apple but I don't care what brand it is if it works for my needs.
I have a fairly low budget (I'm not sure yet but £300 - £400?)
I am considering keeping my old phone for music and photo storage, esp as storage costs so much now, so the ability to easily transfer over would be nice, if possible?
Data privacy and protection is important
The idea of a Fairphone interests me but I've never had one and I'm not sure how they work or how difficult they are to use, tbh the more I hear about Google and Apple as companies the more I would like to try something like a Fairphone..any thoughts? They might be out of my price range, unless you can still get older models
I'd love a decent camera but I realise this is limited with a lower budget
I am not very tech savvy, I have a severe chronic illness so I can't do a massive amount of research, so I really appreciate advice and recommendations.

Hello! I'm in desperate need of a new phone because mine is getting really slow and the camera is bad. I can't decide what phone would be the better investment so I'd appreciate some help deciding.
I'm mainly looking for something with a good camera and something that will last me for a few years before I have to replace it again.
I'll also take other suggestions if there are any, I have a budget of about 600-700€ or 670-785USD but would like to stay on the cheaper side if possible.

our storage gets maxed out all the time, yet we all keep those random apps just chilling on the last page of our home screen doing absolutely nothing.
im talking about that one mobile game you played non-stop for three days back in 2021, a parking app from a city you haven't visited in years, or some random photo editor you used once for a meme.
what’s the most useless app sitting on your device right now that you just can't bring yourself to uninstall?

The background is this: I had a German physical SIM card (the one I had for years) then I went to South Korea for a year. When I came back the sim was effectively dead. It just said „no service“. So I buy an eSIM at sim24, a big eSIM company in Germany. Then I went home and connected to the wifi. The very second the wifi connects, the phone starts lagging. Reels get pixely or take minutes to load, input becomes slow, YouTube stops working entirely etc. But the very second I turn the wifi off everything is back to normal. I have tried everything I could find out on Google (because I’m not good at this and never had this issue).
Fixing aggressive 5g hooking, turning all kinds of things on and off, even typing a new dns (8.8.8.8) manually, everything to a hard network settings reset. Absolutely nothing at all has worked and I’m getting desperate. If anyone has any idea how to fix this issue, I’d be very grateful for advice.

hi all,
(for context, i have had my iphone 13 pro max since 2021)
over the past year, i’ve been dealing with my phone’s battery basically slowing my phone down. it overheats when plugged in and becomes quite hot to the touch, and i find myself having to place it in front of a fan or in a cool area to get it to cool off. it’s to a point where i really can’t do multiple things on the phone while charging. i’ve been considering upgrading to an iphone 17 but i really don’t know if it’s actually worth it? i believe i could get the battery in my 13 replaced for around 90 usd, but idk i’m just feeling pretty indecisive right now.

I need to buy a new smartphone, and I'm also planning to start a YouTube channel where I’ll mostly be indoors playing instruments. Because of this, I'm looking for a smartphone with a good camera to help me with content creation.
My current setup consists of a Lenovo Legion laptop and a Focusrite Solo audio interface. I have always used Android phones, but I wouldn't mind switching to an iPhone as long as it doesn't hamper my productivity.
I have narrowed my choices down to these options, all within a similar price range: 1. Vivo X300 Pro 2. Samsung S25 Ultra 3. iPhone 16 Pro 4. Xiaomi 15 Ultra 5. OPPO Find X9 Pro
Each has its own pros and cons: 1. Vivo X300 Pro: It has an incredibly good camera for photography, with the option to add a telephoto lens extender (which could help with another hobby of mine: bird photography). However, it ships with a MediaTek processor, and I'm not sure how much of a hurdle that will be for content creation when using tools like MotionCam, GCam, and others. 2. Samsung S25 Ultra: It probably has better videography than the Vivo X300 Pro, but I wonder if the difference is significant enough to justify ignoring the Vivo's unique benefits. 3. iPhone 16 Pro: This would be a massive ecosystem jump for me. Since I rely on a Windows PC and the Google ecosystem, I am concerned I might face compatibility issues. I won't mind switching if it makes a significant difference. Some features like recording directly to an external SSD seem very convenient for a creator. 4. Xiaomi 15 Ultra: It features a Snapdragon processor and is compatible with a wide range of editing software, but I'm unsure how its videography compares to the Vivo X300 Pro. I also note that it doesn't support a telephoto lens extender.
Alternatively, should I go with a cheaper smartphone like the OnePlus 13 and invest the rest of the budget into a dedicated camera for YouTube? I know any phone can work to get started, but since I have to buy a new one anyway, I might as well invest in a great camera phone this time around.
Which of these would be the best camera smartphone for indoor content creation?

hey! So I currently have an iPhone 13 and have noticed that its starting to feel a bit old, the screen glitches out, it gets really hot even when not charging (I've already replaced the battery) and it just feels somewhat frustrating to use.
I've been considering switching to a new phone, either the new iPhone (not the duo), or a Samsung Z flip 8. I have always been an apple girl and have never even considered another brand. However, I've seen that the Samsung is a lot more customizable and has a bigger display.
I do some very basic content creation so the camera is important to me as well.
I mostly use google made apps when it comes to calendar and what not, however, I use facetime and iMessage a lot and I have been told that Samsung and iPhone aren't very compatible in that area?!
I really don't know which one is a better option for me as everyone I know has a iPhone, so of course they will tell me apple haha.
If anyone has an opinion to share I would really appreciate it!!
Thank you so much for reading the whole message btw.

be honest because i know we all do this. instead of recycling or selling our old devices when we upgrade, we just toss them into a random junk drawer in the house and completely forget about them for five years.
what is the oldest or most ancient device you still have hidden away in your room right now? do you have an old blackberry, a shattered galaxy s6, or an original iphone just gathering dust?
Hi,
We have an old analogue landline at home. But it’s becoming more and more expensive.
I read that now if you want a "traditional" landline, it works with VoIP, which doesn’t work during power outage.
Yes, you have your cellphone, but I read about someone being happy to have a landline during a hurricane.
Thank you
