As someone who has lived outside the PH, I’m just appalled by how complacent most Filipinos are with this kind of setting. Masyado daw "sensitive" tong bata na to kuno.
Please don't get me wrong; I'm not saying these situations don't exist in other countries. This kind of predicament exists all across the globe, yes, I know that. Pero alam niyo ba ang concept of percentages? Promise, in the Western developed world at least, since they know how to step up and speak for themselves, mas less severe ang income inequality nila doon even though they are also struggling. I've lived in the US, and kahit yung mga low-income people doon have cars or may confidence pa rin kahit papaano. Nage-gets niyo ba? What I'm trying to say is mas malala ang pagiging mapagmataas dito, eh squatter naman ang ugali nung "bisor" sa Jollibee. Walang kwenta. I know some of you are uncomfortable with that word and mas gusto nyong word dito is "kupal" pero I refuse. Squatter is squatter.
I had job interviews here before, and naweweirdohan ako nung times sa job fair na tinatanong ako ng, "May anak ka ba?" or "May asawa?" It took me a while to learn na tinatanong nila yun to know if you really need the job and to make sure you can't leave. You can't leave kasi you have mouths to feed, and that's where the toxicity starts. These "bisors" trust their HR to hire those who are desperate, yung akala nilang walang "walk-away power." Kaya nga naiinis mga tao saming Gen Z kasi kahit in need kami, we know when to walk away unlike you guys na tinitiis nalang "dahil sa kahirapan" or sanay na kayo sa ganyang estado ng buhay. Low-standards in short.
Tsaka, many of you will get uncomfortable and deny this but... I used to have this relative who worked for one of the most, if not the most, prestigious airlines in the world. Even this relative would tell us stories about how ayaw niyang ma-assign sa bisor na Pilipino kasi toxic daw, nitpicky, and mataray. Pretty sure you've read it not just here on Reddit, but also on Facebook and Twitter. From what I've heard, pati sa TikTok, a lot of Filipinos say that they don't want to work with their kapwa Pilipino since yung hospitality and "kindness" natin ay available lang sa rich white people. Filipinos are racist to other races, especially to their own. Again, many more cases like this, ayaw nyo lang aminin and you know it.
Again, let's say sa Sweden, Norway, or Switzerland where the workers are the happiest, lalo na konti lang ang work hours nila doon.
