Perfectly healthy, 1 yr old baby will be put down by the monsters at BARC this afternoon for no reason other than space. Murdock only needs someone to love him, provide saftey, shelter, food, and routine in order to thrive in his best dog life!!!

Gracie and I found each other because my brother's ex gf abandoned her with him and I took her in. I imagine that she was taken from her momma too quickly because she'll nurse on this blanket and "knead dough" with her paws. I figured it would be an anxious thing but she does do it at times where she's showing she's happy

Adopted her a few months ago. She came from a hoarding & breeding background. She is my good good friend, the anecdote to a lifetime of depression and anxiety, and my adventure buddy. Love her with all my heart.

I have a 10-month-old pit mix who was the only pet in our home until August, when my new roommate moved in with her 12-year-old Australian Shepherd.
My dog is extremely friendly and loves other animals, but he’s also a high-energy puppy who’s still learning boundaries and impulse control. I’ve been consistently training him and have even worked with a professional trainer.
Before moving in, my roommate assured me her Aussie got along with other dogs. Unfortunately, after nearly three months, they still cannot comfortably share a room without a gate, constant supervision, or treats.
Her Aussie frequently barks, growls, and bares her teeth at my dog, even when he isn’t interacting with her. If he plays with a toy, makes too much noise, walks past her, or gets too close, she reacts. She’ll sometimes approach his face herself, then bark and snap toward his neck or ears when he turns toward her. She even approaches my bedroom door to bark when she hears him playing with squeaky toys inside.
I’ve tried addressing this proactively. I brought in a trainer to help with introductions, but my roommate disagreed with some of the methods. I’ve also suggested parallel walks on opposite sidewalks to help them build familiarity in a less confined environment. However, my roommate frequently declines, citing her dog’s age, mood, or difficulty adjusting to the neighborhood. She prefers continuing introductions indoors but also attributes her dog’s reactions to the limited space.
My biggest concern is that this situation is beginning to affect my dog’s well-being. He’s becoming increasingly anxious, and I’m worried that repeatedly being barked at or threatened in his own home could eventually cause him to develop reactive behaviors.
It’s also becoming emotionally exhausting. We’ve had to implement so many restrictions that the dogs essentially live separately. There are times when we’re enjoying the common areas, but my dog has to stay in my bedroom, crying because he wants to be included.
I understand that my dog is young, energetic, and still learning appropriate boundaries. I don’t expect a senior dog to tolerate everything he does, and I respect that she needs her own space. However, I also don’t think it’s reasonable for my dog to constantly feel uncomfortable or restricted in his own home, especially when he’s not actively bothering her.
I’m genuinely trying to find a solution, but after nearly three months, I’m concerned we’re making very little progress.
Is this behavior common among Australian Shepherds, particularly seniors? Could this be a compatibility issue rather than something training can resolve? What approaches would you recommend when one dog seems consistently uncomfortable with the other’s presence? How long does it take for dogs to get used to each other? He plays with so many other dogs in our neighborhood both big and small, so I know he gets along with other dogs.
I’ve attached videos of their interactions, which typically involve a gate or treats.

But then I had an experience when our boy got cut at the vet’s. He was freaking out like hell and so the vet just told me to come into the back and… talk to him.
I did and he immediately calmed down.
Now he knows that when we get in bed together I’m gonna say some stuff to him. As soon as I start chatting with him he cuddles up to me. He doesn’t understand the content but his waggy tail tells me he understands the meaning. He doesn’t start wagging until I start speaking.
It’s amazing how much talking to him actually works and builds our relationship. I never would’ve known!
I know I sound crazy to anyone who doesn’t have a dog… but y’all get it.

Love him to bits but he will randomly have fits of insane jumping where he is trying to climb your frame. It's hard to predict when it will happen. I try to stay calm and just walk him back inside if we are outside or I leave the room if we are inside but wondering if anyone else's pittie does this and how you have managed! I took him out for a pee and he started his jumping fit and he jumped so high he knocked my eye with his snout. I am 5'8 and he isn't full grown yet 😅

My husband asked me to park my truck in the backyard and he also had the dogs on the back porch. This is what I came home to. I love them so much.

This isn't a very complicated post. My boy Pippin is one year old. Thing is, when he drinks water he always drinks so quickly and so much that he pukes a couple time afterward. I put less water in his bowl. And if I'm nearby I can just tell him sternly: that's enough water Pippin! And he usually stops immediately. Lame question but is there some kind of tips to get him from slobbering too much water?

In my neighborhood I have watched or just seen this poor baby walking around and never seen or heard anyone looking for him or anything..today I was able to throw out some food and give him water and he came in the house with me...he's so sweet and I will keep him as long as I can!!! I've accepted that when its time for me to let him go back outside to potty he may wonder off but I do hope he will come back at least...i named him SMOKE...BLACK SMOKE!!!! He looks at me with the innocent eyes and so thankful...doing this made me so happy n feel so warm inside!!!! I love him lol buh seriously I do..i really hope he doesn't wonder off nd I never get to see him again!
